Based on Current Lotto Standings, Is Monroe to the Wiz a Lock?

As a look at the pre-lotto mock drafts, I just really see Greg Monroe going to Washington, which would be great for them of course. Monroe is not fast enough to consistently be great at PF, so his main position would be at the 5, keeping Blatche (who moonlighted as a Center for portions of the season) at his natural PF position and McGee coming in off the bench for defensive energy. No one sees Monroe going before Wall, Turner, or Cousins no matter who is picking, and the #4 pick could be any prospect from Favors, Monroe, Johnson, or Aminu depending on who's picking there. That leaves Washington sitting at that crazy wildcard pick #5. The biggest reason Washington is gonna pick Monroe? The fan base would riot if the Wiz didn't pick the local Georgetown stud for a position of need. It just makes too much sense.

Ya that would be a good pick.

Ya I would really like monroe to go to D.C. But lets just pray wizards fans for some real good luck in a week...

It would be good to go to DC,

It would be good to go to DC, where the courts should have conficted kobe for raping an innocent girl who said no but that wouldn't stop a rapist like kobe.

bvalliere nobody talks about a potential Wall/Arenas backcourt!!! Could Arenas legitimately play the two though full-time? I doubt it, but it's a good problem to have I guess...

A Wall/Arenas backcourt would definitely work out on the offensive but the problem would be on defense. Arenas is a liability on defense and would give up a lot of size to the other SGs and I don't think that he will be able to guard the elite 2-guards in the NBA.

Great Pick

Yeah, it would be great for the Wizards because they need a serious leader and Monroe seems like a real character guy that could fill the leadership role very quickly. But like bvalliere said, lets hope that wizards fans get some real good luck in a week.

If Ellis can play the 2 than

If Ellis can play the 2 than Arenas can but obviously defense will be an issue unless Wall can defend 2's which i believe he will after a year or so. Also I am not sure how Monroe fits with the Wizards but maybe that could be because they are kind of in dissarray so you dont know what direction they are going. I would think Wesley Johnson would be a better pick up.

Sheltwon

Sheltwon Ellis can play SG every day because he is a superior athlete compared to Arenas. Arenas' advantages physically are lessened now as he approaches the twilight of his career.

Ya wall/arenas would be great...

No question the wall/ arenas thing would be great, but mabye im crazy here but I wouldnt Getting Turner over wall. This lineup is pretty solid pg. Arenas Sg. Turner Sf. Thorton PF. Blatche C. Mcgee. Plus a couple more draft picks and mabye a couple nice free agent pickups? Cant wait for nexy year.

P.S This is like the first Wizards thread ever created on this site. ha

turner or cousins maybe?

the perfect fit for wizards is either Evan turner or Cousins. These are my tops two guys I hope we might get. Cousins can be are starting big or turner can play along side Gilbert Arenas. If we have a chance at john wall you have too get him and try too make it work with Gilbert arenas these guys are both very talented.

well

why should they? Blache is good at starting or off the bench just make them battle it out on summer camp for the starting spot as much as I think Monroe is a good player I think I rather have cousins. maybe im wrong im not a big Monroe expert I haven't follow him much I just feel cousins would be a better fit he has a chance too be a elite center in the nba. i know us wizards need a big man why no wizfans mentioning maybe getting a wall or turner lol that's my first options if we fail too get them guys then we talk about the must needed big man.
