Watching Toronto on NBA League pass free trial, could Bargnani still reach his potential? He’s 26 and he looks so good out there right now. Could he still progress in Toronto or would he have to be moved? If he was moved, what team do you think would trade for him? I would love to see him on Pheonix or Denver

It seems the Raptors want him moved and start to rebuild, they’re bringing Ed Davis through and Valanciunas is coming next season. So i rekon they’ll think about moving him next season or trade him on deadline day and tank this season, as for potential sutiors? Well, i can see him fit in Orlando if Howard stays, Denver and Phoenix are good choices, maybe the Spurs? I wonder whether a playoff team would make a move for him. Playoff teams are already loaded offensively, i also question Bargnani in the playoffs, he has no experience to pair with his poor defense which does conjure images of him being eaten alive by some of the powerhouse teams.

I never thought he’d be the next Dirk, Dirk Nowitzki is a special player that is so unbelievable on offense that his defensive faults can be overlooked. It’s just soo much pressure to put on a young and unproven player.

Having said that, he’s become his own player, i figured him as an Okur type but he can have games where he’s very aggressive and evidently, it serves him well.

I’d like to hear a Raptors fan’s take on Bargs.

I can honestly say that I prayed for collangelo to get rid of bargs last year but my perception of him has really started to change this season.  with the acquisition of dwayne casey I really belive bargnani can become a great player as he has started to show this year.  casey himself has said that bargs is buying into the whole defense first mentallity more than any other player on the team and he is very impressed with him. It will be interesting to see what the raptors do with andrea as ed davis is up and coming. The three man rotation of davis valanciunas and args coming off te bnch could b fearsome years to come.

     Here’s my opinion I’m a biased I’m Italian

If bargs had a real coach since his rookie season til now he would be a much better player. I like him as a player but it looks like every raps fan thinks deepen is the future instead in my eyes he looks like an athlete and not much else he doesn’t defend which bargs then get blamed for a sg scoring and he doesn’t do anything really well. As for bargs if he ever rebounds at least 8 reb no one would be complaining

I’ve heard he’s been giving a much better effort on defense and rebounding. I knew Dwayne Casey would do wonders for a player like him.

Speaking of the Raps, I was just watching the Raps and Pacers game, and David West iced the game with a fallaway jumper! I’m telling you, the Pacers are going to be a scary team not only this season but in years to come.

Toronto would never really get a package of good value for Bargnani unless they traded him to another lottery team but with him never having proven that he can take the team to the next level I’d guess that teams in rebuild would not consider him a player who could improve a team on his own.

I wonder what Bargnani would be like as a running mate to franchise level player in the sort of role everyone says that Iggy would be great at. Look at how Pau Gasol became hugely more effective when he linked up with Kobe, Bargnani is not in Gasol’s league but that sort of scenario might be good for him.

I agree that Toronto hold fire and if Bargnani has another 20ppg pus season then his trade value increases as a lot of elite big men are coming to the end of their careers and a skilled 7 footer like Bargnani will be highly sought after.

I think Bargs has just been unfortanate to play out of position his whole career. He’s a PF, not a C, and I would love for the Raptors to keep him for at least another year to see how he plays alongside Jonas.

If they move him, I’d say wherever Dwight ends up would be the perfect fit. Is there a better young PF/C combo in the NBA than if those two were together?

As a Raptor fan and a general fan of the game he’s not what the Raptors need at PF or C moving forward, here me out. This guy is no Dirk Nowitzki, Dirk was consider soft but he still got atleat 8 rebounds a night, Bargnani doesn’t. Bargnani settles for jump shot all game, when he attacks its on open lanes, this guy is consider mobile for a seven footer and he can’t even beat Roy Hibbert of the bounce come on, watching the game tonight made me give up on this guy, he reached his potential defensively and Offensively already so don’t expect more from him. Bargnani don’t have the Mindset to be a tough guy he’s soft. Face it Raptor fans on this site, don’t defend this guy he is the Italian pasta, I know pasta is good but I’m not a fan.

Positive Note: Demar showed maturitiy as a player. Their Defense as a team is much more improve. Bayless, J. Johnson and Barbosa played good of the bench.

Negative Note:  Calderon struggle tonight. the tempo of the game always starts with the point guard. Poor execution on the offensive end.

Indiana Pacers: They have extreme length, two legit 6’8+ players on the wings is absolute amazing. Paul George showed improvement all around. Indiana will surprise a lot of people if they continue to improve season long.

for years ive tried to stick up for bargs and up until last year that was possible, then i completely gave up hope… But this year ive been very impressed early on. Lets not get too excited here since its only two games and he does have a history of playing well for a few games before dissapearing.

But ya, he seems to be engaged on D, not taking every shot possible (like his one nice dump down to derozan for a score, a play he would never have made last year..) and actually wanting to win.

Good work casey haha didn’t think it was possible to motivate bargs but I guess he just needed a good coach.. Lets hope this continues raps fans!
