druneave3Participant@arthurhenry recently posted Chad Ford’s Tier Rankings ( http://nbadraft.net/forum/chad-fords-annual-ranking-prospects-tier ). As Ford stated and assuming all 12 players from tiers 1 and 2 make the first round, 7 of the players on the bottom of this page (Tier 5) will not make the first round and miss out on that guaranteed deal. Despite not having any players in either of the top 2 tiers this draft is incredibly deep and filled with many players who could have very long successful NBA careers. Like Ford said there is so much parity between the end of the lottery and into the second round. All the players in Tier 5 and many in the second round could very possibly find their niche. As a Bulls fan there is no one I really love (Considering: Dieng, Ledo, Rice Jr., Franklin, Plumlee) at that spot and I wouldn’t mind trading out of #20 and getting more than 1 pick to fill out the roster. With only 8 players on the books for $73 million getting more picks would be smart financially. Sorry @ProundGrandpa, didn’t mean to turn this into a Bulls rebuilding thread. The way this draft is structured I think it would be smart for every team to trade down and get more picks.
Which 7 players ( From Tier 5) do you think will not make the first round?
My list:
1. Pierre Jackson
2. Mike Muscala
3. Isiah Canaan
4. Nate Wolters
5. Erik Green

CavFanPRParticipantMy same thoughts. That tier 5 list is very nice and the tier 6 has James Ennis who is also a nice prospect. Will Clyburn didn’t even make a tier so that goes to show you how deep this class is.

HitsterParticipantA team like the Spurs always do their draft research and if there are hidden gems in the late first round Ric Burford and Coach Poppovich tend to find them.

KHAM83ParticipantThis is definitely a deep Draft and I think any team rebuilding or needing to fill a couple spots should really look to acquire multiple picks. I see plenty of players mocked late 1st up to mid 2nd who could become very good role players on a contender.

Kinguy11ParticipantThey are calling it a bad draft because there aren’t many all star caliber players, but you’re right in saying that it’s deep. As Chad Ford put it “the player you draft at No. 35 might be as good as the player you get at No. 15”.
Anyway, my 7:
Players:
Isaiah Canaan
Erick Green
Pierre Jackson
Ricardo Ledo
C.J. Leslie
Mike Muscala
Glen Rice Jr.0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/22/2013 - 11:40am #803201

HitsterParticipantThere is a lack of potential superstars in this draft but we have to wait and see how players develop and what sort of NBA careers they are having come 2nd contract time. I would say this year could be a solid draft rather than a spectacular one.

MopgrassParticipantI like this draft. It doesn’t have a lot of immediate superstars, but there are more solid players. In some years I could see all of these guys going in the 1st round.
My 8…………………………
Gorgui Dieng (only because I don’t think he’s a center)
Tim Hardaway Jr.
Nate Wolters (I like a lot)
Kelly Olynyk (only because SO un-athletic)
Reggie Bullock
Jeff Withey
Lucas Nogueira (maybe he’s developed and I haven’t seen it on YouTube yet)

scliddiardParticipantLeslie, too much of a tweener and slight/weak
Jackson, too short
Green, tweener
Goodwin, can’t shoot
Crabbe, late injury may push him down
Wolters, lack of athleticism may keep him out of 1st roundPersonally I like Canaan and Muscala and think they are 1st rounders , like what they bring.
Crabbe could bump one of them but those first 6 would be my first bets to not make the first round.0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/22/2013 - 4:44pm #803399
