ive heard alot of people say his shot is funamentally incorrect. if that is so, why is it so effective? can anyone help me break down his shot with like a step-by-step tutorial?

Not that there is any "incorrect" about it, but he does seem to have a slight hitch in his shot… by that I mean his  shot doesn’t flow as smoothly as say…Stephen Curry (someone who he’s been linked to as a comparison; a comparison I don’t really agree with) He also sways to the side quite a bit, sort of like a fadeaway; but like you said it is effective so its not as big a deal I don’t think. Btw, if you dont mind me asking why are you asking for a step by step tutorial on his shot? Trying to shoot like Rivers, maybe?

If it works, doesn’t really matter how pretty/ugly it is. Peja Stojakovic has an ugly corkscrew release but he was a great pure shooter.

And if your trying to improve your shot, instead of copying someone else’s release, how about you go with what your most comfortable with and just try to perfect that.

hahaha. if anything, get nba2k11.go through all the different shots they have. choose the one you like best and copy that one  lol just kidding guys. no but seriously just tell him 2 start shooting however he is comfortable and once he starts doing that his own unique shot will soon develop. the more you practice, the more you realize different ways to improve your shot, little tweaks here and there and before you know it you might even developed a form that would make others envious. a smooth and full follow through is ideal, and of course , practice makes perfect. almost every NBA player has a different shot/form, of course there are a few whose forms are similar to others but for the most part everyone has their own unique form. even in past its hard to find a high rate of guys with similar forms

whoever it is that has his shot as their pic should make a post here. its pretty ugly but it works. im guessing he could be more accurate if it was altered. When he gets to the nba theyll fine tune it some. nobody except maybe jj redick has a perfect form coming out of high school or college.

alot of some of the better shooters in the league have had or do have hitches in their shots or just weird looking shots overrall. kevin martin, peja etc if youre effective then the rest doesnt matter. really, not alot of guys have whats called a ‘text book’ jump shot anyway
