AndyBeng2ParticipantI he’s smart then he’ll stay, but he doesn’t seem to smart to me though coming up w/ his own lame nickname of ‘Sub-Zero’. Giving a nickname to youself is dumb, and the name subzero makes it worse. Basketball is not Mortal Kombat.

UsernameParticipantWell actually it was a reporter of one of Duke’s websites, I believe BDN, who sugested the nickname SubZero. I don’t remember who exactly came up w/ the nickname but it definitely wasn’t Rivers himself. And second of all if basketball is not Mortal Kombat it definitely isn’t Animal Planet (Barnes) either lol

FastAndFuriousParticipantDude is gone, you can tell from the way he talks to the way he plays, he wants to be in the NBA bad.

Johnny Chill1. Wait until after March
2. Topic is beaten to death.
3. He is smart and make the best decision for him, but giving himself a nickname is dumb.
4. His game is Pro style not college.

F_DA_POParticipantI think he should go pro now before more people realize he’s not the player we thought he was going to be out of high school.

CoachWorthyParticipantHe should leave because…
A, his dad is rich, staying for higher rookie scale next year is pointless
B, Duke has to many guards and he speeds up the clock to free agency.
C, if he leaves now he’s going to be a mid to late lottery pick which means he may go to a team that’s closer to being good.
D, it depends on if T-wolves make playoffs, he has to no Kahn is going to pick him.
Side note, Klay Thompson went 11 last year and would have gone 20 this year and I like Klay Thompson.

CoachWorthyParticipantCoach K is a best reason to stay but also the best to reason to leave. Another year under Coach K is certainly going to make you a smarter basketball player. I can’t think of a players whose skills for the nba level increased by staying longer at Duke. Whether it was Shane, Jay, Dunleavy, Langdon, Ferry, Poulus, Hurley etc stuck around and got drafted higher but didn’t somehow gain skills that necessarily translated to the NBA. Brand, Cory and Boozer left when they could have stayed and ended up the best of the bunch. For the record I left out Grant Hill, JJ Redick, Shavlik Randolph and Josh Mc Roberts because they would not have served my point. Coach K also recruited him as a one and done, taking Quin Cook another McDonald All American (al beit one with half the upside as Rivers) to stick around four 4 years like Greg Paulus.
