Wow, just really disappointed with our draft. I was really excited when we acquired a lottery pick because we haven’t had one in awhile. And then we go and draft Prince at 12, who’s a good player, but I surely didn’t have him in the lottery or think he warranted a lottery pick. I thought Bembry at 21 wasn’t a great pick either considering who was on the board (Dejounte, Davis, Furkan, Luwawu). I think all of those guys could’ve been picked at 12. Bembry is not a SF to me, and really a SG who’s not that great of a shooter.

We picked Isaia Cordinier at 44 who I know nothing about, then we picked Felder at 54, the player I love, and of course ship him to Cleveland.

I wish we had moved up last draft, not this one. The talent in this draft just doesn’t compare to last years. At least that’s how it appears.

I thought OKC, Phoenix, Philly, and San Antonio had great drafts. Any thoughts?

I think Atlanta really liked what they had in Demarre Caroll and think Taurean Prince can turn into a similar player.

Cordinier has potential, we’ll see how it turns out for them. Atlanta is still doing Atlanta things – nothing flashy, solid, I’m not sure they can become a contender this way, but they will never suck. Some think that’s worse, some think that’s good.

I don’t know if the report was true, but I heard Atlanta wanted to trade their first round picks to clear cap to resign Al Horford. I was shocked at the Taurean Prince pick. I like him, but 12 seemed really high. I like DeAndre Bembry, but I’m not sure how he fits in with the way the Hawks play.

OKC made a good deal that will hopefully securely place Andre Roberson on the bench. My only concern is if Oladipo could really shoot the play the Magic wouldn’t have traded him so I wonder how well he can stretch the floor for OKC. With that being said they’ll have to guard him unlike Roberson.

The 76ers have no where to go but up and drafting Ben Simmons should help tremendously. Their late first round picks look good too in Luwau and Korkmaz.

Phoenix did well too getting Dragan Bender and Marquesse Chriss. If they really want to space the floor Bender could see time at center with Chriss at power forward, creating an entire lineup with three point range without giving up anything defensively.

Indiana did a great job without making a pick adding Jeff Teague and Thaddeus Young. Even if the Pacers can’t add any free agents they’re vastly improved with these moves.

Minnesota getting Kris Dunn is a great move even if they can’t move him for Jimmy Butler. With Tom Thibodeau in charge and the young talent they have, the Wolves are looking like a scary team to face.

The Lakers did well too adding Brandon Ingram and Ivica Zubac who was projected as a lottery pick. Hopefully for their sake Zubac comes over soon because they could use his size at center.

Definitely agree with you on everything.

In regards to Oladipo though, he needed to go. They had too many young guards like Payton, Hezonja, Fournier, Jennings, and Napier who are deserving minutes. Especially Hezonja, he is their star of the future I believe. So they needed to let go of some of those guys.

Now I don’t know if this was the right trade to let go of their guards, as Ibaka is a free agent next year. I would’ve like to see them able to get someone more long term, but perhaps Ibaka said he would resign in the future. But we’ll see. They’ll probably improve as a result of this, but potentially not long term.
