The Arizona/Wisconsin game still has a long way to go, but im interested in hearing how you have assessed Aaron Gordons game.

With 7 minutes left, he has 1 point (0-8 shooting) but 14 rebounds and 2 blocks. His defense has been great and to be fair there’s been a couple of unlucky calls against him.

But is he having an overall positive impact for Arizona whilst looking so horrible on offense?

I believe in Aaron Gordon, he’s a relentless player and has elite athletism and defensive instincts. If he ever learns how to shoot from 12 feet out he’s going to be An All Star, without a jump shot he can still be a lock down defender and rebound, while looking like a stud on the break and put back dunks.

He needs to add strength and improve his outside shooting and free throw percentage.

I honestly think he’ll be a better player in the pros, in a more wide open game. He has elite athleticism, an almost 7 foot wingspan, I think he needs to be a power forward but he can end up being a Shawn Marion type forward. I do think the blake Griffin comparison fits in the open court and off of the pNr. They asked him who would he compare his game to and he said… "Scottie Griffin," He’s says Scottie Pippens defensive instincts and Blake Griffin’s athleticism. It’s crazy but he could potentially reach it. His game tonight was like Kenny Smith said last week when talking about Andrew Wiggins in Kansas’ lost, you can have a game where you don’t score a ton and it still be a great game because you contributed in other ways. Gordon did that tonight when Wiggins didn’t do it last week. Not trying to knock Wiggins or compare the players potential and talent, just using that analysis as a statement for tonight’s game. Gordon still had 2 blocks, 2 assists, a steal and 18 rebounds, even though he was 3-11 with 8 points. He still contributed to his team. I love his game and potential honestly, if he fixes the jump shot and free throws, WOW, the sky is the limit.

I was in attendance and incredibly impressed by Gordan’s performance. Honestly I looked up with a couple minutes left in regulation and was shocked to see he only had 3 points.

I was paying special attention to him all night and the points were even a factor in my mind. He had a huge impact out there. He does a good job of igniting the break. Some bigs try to do this and turn it over but he rarely does. He often just prods and then gets it to the right guy.

What I loved the most about him tonight, he doesn’t take a play off. Ever. Period. Offense or Defense. He is always crashing the glass, he is always working hard on defense… He’s a guy you want on your team period. I also believe he plays within himself to a degree. He has a pretty good basketball IQ which helps compensate for his lack of an outside shot…

I see him going anywhere from 7-20… Probably landing around 10, that’s where his value lies to me. Anything lower, it starts to look like you could be getting a steal. That 7-10 range is a little to high because I do believe there is a certain risk of busy associated with him, strongly due to his lack of a true position. However unlike guys like Derrick Williams before him, he can guard multiple positions, very well.

Is going to be laughing. Kid will impact the game and he has a nice stroke that he needs to believe in. Practice and a wide open and spaced out NBA game is going to make him look better. If you dont see the high IQ don’t know what to tell you. If he does not score he impacts the game more than Wiggins or Parker. Those guys just score and dont have similar handle or IQ.

He feels like a perfect compliment to Noel and MCW on defense, those 3 can lock up their man while Parker or Wiggins scores the points on offense.

Players like Gordon don’t grow on trees, and he will certainly bring a ton of energy and heart to a team that needs it in the 76ers.

Good player, nice athlete, but I think the Blake comparisons are absolutely ludicrous. Nowhere near the specimen that Blake is. Just because he dunks a lot & has a similar complextion, I assume? I think the Marion comp is a great one.
