Are we going to watch the Bucks fall apart?

I feel like we are going to watch the Bucks fall completely apart this season.. Rumors of say they want Monta but Monta wants out. Jennings has wanted out for a while and the Bucks don't want him BUT they may have to bring him back. Lets look at the roster they put on the floor this past season.

Brandon Jennings - Restricted FA that wants out and the a bucks want rid of. However, if everything goes the wrong way, they may have to match any offer he receives.
Monta Ellis - Unrestricted FA that has reportedly turned down an offer from the Bucks.
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute - A nice young player that provides limited offense while being great on defense.
Ersan Ilyasova - Skilled offensive player that drags bigs out of the paint. He has been mentioned in trade rumors and his time with the Bucks looks short.
Larry Sanders - A fantastic help defender that really came into his won this season but on offense, he struggles to do more than dunk. He will be a restricted FA in 2014 and because of the lack of bigs in the league, will likely get paid alot.
JJ Redick - Great bench player but it seems doutable that he will return. A player like JJ is exactly what championship teams need to push themselves over the top. Will sign with a contender.
Dalembert, Daniels, Dunleavy - All unrestricted FAs that will look to sign with a contender. Also, all big parts of the Bucks rotation at 1 time or another.

If things go wrong for them, like Jennings get paid too much for them to match and they miss out on Redick, Ellis, and their role players, their roster would be left looking like this before FAs and draft picks:

Smith
Ilyasova
Mbah a Moute
Sanders
Gooden
Henson
Ayon
Udoh

This roster leaves the Bucks with no legit starter at PG or SG. Of the 3 starters left on the roster, only 1 would be a guarnteed starter next season and that is Sanders. Mbah a Moute can only start where he has scorers all around and Ersan is a borderline starter. In this years draft, there are limited options at 15 to turn a franchise around. Most people projected there are projects or role players. And to be honest, the Bucks don't attract great FAs..

So what is going to happen to the Bucks?

Do they become the worst team in the league next season or do they overpay Jennings, even if they don't want to, to be a late lottery team next year?

Nope... You forget they have

Nope... You forget they have $32mil in cap space so they have a lot of flexibility... They won't overpay Jennings cuz he will either accept the qualifying offer or sign with another team in which the Bucks can match... Word here in Milwaukee is if he signs the qualifying offer or accepts a deal they think is to much they will match and look to trade him during the season... This team will be different but still play well enough to not be the worst team in the league... If they draft well and add the right free agents they might even contend for a 4,5 or 6 seed...

i have to completely disagree

i have to completely disagree with you, there is zero chance the bucks get a 4,5,6 seed.

i think what the original post is trying to say is that the bucks could basically have a whole new team out there. and im betting that if some team throws a ridiculous offer at jennings that the bucks will NOT match it.

how can you honestly expect them to seriously go to a 4,5, or 6 seed from the 8th when they lose all of their best scorers and main ball handlers? they have nothing left on their team right now but role players.

Because they will have enough

Because they will have enough money to replace them with better players... Al Jefferson, Paul Millsapp, Josh Smith, Tyreke Evans and Andre Iguadala... Your crazy if you think Ellis and Jennings are to good to be replaced... I live in Milwaukee and watched every game... The only free agent I'd keep is Ellis and that's just if he will play PG...

your crazy if you think

your crazy if you think Milwaukee, devoid of talent, will attract big name FA's like those. the only person there i could possibly see signing with Milwaukee is Milsap.

Money talks and they have a

Money talks and they have a lot of it... They might have to pay a little more but they can get players... At the deadline when Milwaukee almost had Josh Smith he said he wouldn't mind signing an extension here so why wouldn't he sign here as a free agent especially now that his old head coach is Milwaukees coach...

nope

i think them trading Tobias Harris had to be one of the dumbest things every. He was up and coming still on rookie contract and could have got alot more value for him. And sanders is still a good serviable big and lets face it all the guys you named can be replaced

We all knew the Bucks were

We all knew the Bucks were going to have this problem with Ellis and Jennings nearing the end of their contracts. At the trade deadline everyone hear was speculating who they could get for either of their guards. Instead they dealt Tobias Harris, a rookie contract with solid potential.

The Bucks still have an oportunity to make a move, but their leverage is significantly less than it was last season.

Buck Posts

There have been more Milwaukee Buck threads today than over the past six months. And, I like it.

I'm hoping for the wheels to

I'm hoping for the wheels to fall off so that they can just rebuild and get a good draft pick again. I like Larry, Henson, and Ilyasova a lot, but if the reported deal of Ilyasova and a couple garbage pieces for the #3 pick and Okafor's contract are true, I jump on that all day.

Who says their gonna fall

Who says their gonna fall apart? Just because they have a busy summer coming up doesnt mean their future is ruined. They do have to address their gaurd situations though.

Might be a good thing

Could be a blessing in disguise. If they're bad this year that means lottery pick in next years draft hopefully high enough for one of the top prospects. That plus the cap room they have could put them in a better position for the future because lets face it they weren't going anywhere anytime soon with that roster.
