Are the Bulls crazy?

Are the Bulls crazy? They won't trade Joakim Noah even if it means getting Carmelo? They don't want to see Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony and Carlos Boozer? I ask again, are the Bulls crazy...

Everybody is talking about

Everybody is talking about the summer Miami had. I would take Boozer over Bosh and I would take Melo over Lebron.

Well first of all, he doesn't

Well first of all, he doesn't respond better to pressure. Second, he just isn't as good. Despite the fact that he's a "pure scorer," he has only outscored Lebron once, and that was their rookie season, when Melo beat him out by .1ppg. He also shoots a worse percentage from the field and and even though he has a reputation as a shooter, he also shoots a significantly worse percentage on 3-pointers. He doesn't rebound as well and he isn't near as good a passer or defender. He is literally worse in every major statistical category other than free throw shooting.

Yeah,its easier to find guys

Yeah, its easier to find guys like Joakim Noah than it is finding guys like Carmelo...Kobe,Durant & Carmelo are the 3 best offensive players in the league..They can do it all on the offensive end..When you get a chence to add a guy like that to your roster you do it..Whats holding the Bulls from doing the deal is the Bulls dont think Boozer and Melo will mesh ..Some view them as similar players...But Melo & Boozer' s game are totally different..I believe the Bulls would've jumped at the chance to get Melo if they didnt have Boozer....

I have no problem with HIM

I have no problem with HIM saying he prefers Melo over LeBron... LeBron is clearly the better overall player, but he's not a better scorer than Melo. Melo is the more complete offensive player and doesn't need to dominate the ball. And I do agree with him... Melo is better under pressure. Melo would fit in better with the Bulls than LeBron in my opinion.

If I was the Bulls maybe I

If I was the Bulls maybe I would include Noah but Noah is only getting better and he bring more to the table then people realize and I think he work well with Boozer and Rose. Chi also got a lot of shooter and Noah is a great passer. I think Bull are looking at chemistry. I would take a healthy Boozer and Melo over Lebron and Bosh.

Melo is not that far behind Lebron. Lebron is more versatile but Melo is a more dangerous scorer. Melo would score more point if the ball was in his hands as much and Lebron plus Melo has had team where other player had a legit reason to have the ball more than Cavs had.

I understand Melo is a top

I understand Melo is a top ten player and is better than Noah, but people overlook chemistry and fit.

This isn't NBA 2K or some fantasy draft. You can't overlook chemistry. Having three great scorers won't necesarily equal a championship. And it's not like Melo, Rose and Boozer can defend at a high level. All three are scorers more than anything else.

Rose can play D...

It must be a Team first thing...If I'm correct the Bulls still have cap room right???they didn't blow it all on Boozer,Brewer and Korver did they...Because they could be taking the wait and see approach...If Melo hits the free agent market and doesn't get traded to the Nets or team X and resigns...then they can have Noah and Melo...this is if I'm correct on the Bulls still having some cap room for next summer...

Plus

Thibedou will help Melo's defensive incapabilities. They can find a BIG just how Boston kept Perkins and stuck him in the middle. Reinsdorf just doesnt wanna jump over the CAP too much but hey he can build a winner.

This year: Carmelo Anthony, Carlos Boozer, Ronnie Brewer, Kyle Korver, CJ Watson, Omer Asik, Kurt Thomas, Keith Bogans

Next year (maybe): Tyson Chandler (Defensive BIG) and Jamal Crawford(Instant Offense off the bench plus he'd be close to home)

Amare and Melo with no other teamamtes around them...Randolph,Chandler and Gallo...don't they all play the same positions ??? NY makes no sense for Melo IMO...they need a star PG not a star SF...they have 3 young SF'S they put a lot of stock in...Melo is better than all 3 combined but hasn't NY been piping them up for so long...

It is incredibly foolish for

It is incredibly foolish for the Bulls to not include Noah. He is up for an extension and wants between $13-14 million annually. That is absurd for him, and if they can pawn him off now for a guy worth star money they'd be far better off in the long run.

Deng and Noah for Melo sounds good to me...I'd hate includ picks when they traded you 2 solid starters...but I wouldn't wnat to have to pay Noah that money when the rookie deal is done...he's not worth 8 million a year IMO...not when you can get any 7 footer to play his ass off and duplicate what Noah does on pure hustle...plus Denver has Birdman...an all hustle and bustle player

Crazy Talk GREGODEN08

Melo may not be better than Lebron but he is a better fit in Chicago since they have a point guard. Lebron is ball dominant. No Melo has never been to the finals and No Melo has never led his team to the best record. BUT if Lebron played in the west he would not have made it to the finals either or had the best overall record. Carmelo is a scorer thats who he is, he will never be a great passer, or maybe not even a great rebounder, but he is a unstoppable scorer.

The Bulls are kidding

The Bulls are kidding themselves, I was going to create a similar post when I first read about it. Even Scottie Pippen said he don't think the Bulls should trade Noah. While anybody who knows basketball loves and respects Noah's game and what he brings to the table, the guy is like Rodman a Franchise hustle player. Noah does have a lot of skill, too, he not only brings, energy and passion, but rebounding, shot blocking, lane stalking, and passing. He is the ultimate team player and winner.

With that said the Bull have got to be completely out of their minds not to give him up for Melo.

Lets just look at the potential impact the trade will have on the future:

Noah, 25 yrs old, PF/C: While Noah is a great defensive player if your starting center still can't match up with Dwight Howard you better keep looking. Noah is still more of a power forward because he can't keep low post position against stronger centers. He def cant keep position against Howard and what he tries to do is deny him the entry pass the whole game and with Noah's length he's actually extremely effective doing it. They're making a big deal about Noah's playoff averages and he did do great in the playoffs but he only ever played 5 playoff games his whole career. Stats like that can mislead and he played against Anderson Varejao most of the series who by all accounts stinks.

Carmelo Anthony 26: Melo is only one year older then Noah. Yea how bout that? So how much potential does Noah really still have? You're gonna be hard pressed to name 5 players better then Melo in the league. But if you can, do you really think there are 7 better players then Melo in the league? Has there been 5 better scorers then Melo in the last 20 years? Can you name 5 better forwards in the league? Could you name 4 better players then Carmelo Anthony in the Eastern Conference? By all accounts Melo is having a hall of famer career and is a winner. Carmelo Anthony has won on every level he's played. Melo has dominated on every level he's played. And theres not 10 better players in the whole league that you should want to build your franchise around.

Bottom Line is Noah gotta go. With Noah they have a really good team. With Melo they have a great team and Chicago will be able to swing another trade to get a defensive presence in the middle before the start of the season so thats not a big concern. They still would have assets and cap room this is a sure fire win.

Wow

I'm kind of surprised at the lack of basketball knowledge. I know you have to have stars, but the Bulls have at least one in Rose. With NBA rules and his finishing ability he is near unstoppable. I'm not sure how much sense it makes to hire a defensive coach and then get rid of his best two defenders (Deng and Noah) then you leave him with a bunch of guys that play no D other than Ronnie Brewer and the pre-historic Kurt Thomas. Melo is superior to Deng, but Deng is much more effecient on offense and way better defensively. Why have Rose competing with Melo for shots?

Noah isn't going to be that easily replaced. As of right now that means starting Thomas or Asik (rookie) at center. You really don't want one of those guys paired up with Boozer. The way things are right now the Bulls are the strongest in the two positions that Miami is the weakest. His numbers can be replaced, but his impact won't be so easily, even then, how long and how are they going to obtain a replacement? The Bulls won't have any cap room to sign anybody of consequence and I doubt they have the assets to acquire a replacement. They will be too good to get a high pick.

I don't care how much Melo could get coached up, Lebron will eat him alive 9 out of every 10 times. If we learned anything from the old Dallas teams it's not about scoring a billion points. It helps, but sometimes you have to make stops. Besides when it comes down to it, if Melo is considering NY or New Jersey, is he really wanting to win? Both teams have been garbage for awhile. He plays the same position as two of the better players in NY and to get traded to NJ means going to one of the worst teams last year, but the catch is they have to give up what little they have gathered into rebuilding back into a trade for him.

Now It's Sixers Time to step up, and Get Melo!!

Now it's time for our(Sixers) New President to step up and make this trade happen!! Trade Iggy,Brackins,2011 First Round Pick and Kapono! That keeps them(Denver) with a Good forward and provides a future with the pick.. We can sell Melo on Making the Playoffs and a New President who really wants to win and not just sell tickets!! And next summer money comes off our cap and we still have a mid level that we never use!! I hate that we never use our mid level, ever!! Philly is Not New York but this is a town that he can market the Jordan Brand and hs Wife can still have her career!! Win Win for everyone..Melo will bring another player to Philly..I'm prayer we get someone that's Blind to take Elton Brand's Contract!!

Melo is one of only 7 players

Melo is one of only 7 players to get over 12,000 points, 5,000 rebounds, and 1,500 assists in his first 7 seasons. The other 6 are David Robinson (HOF), Charles Barkley (HOF), Karl Malone (HOF), Michael Jordan (GOAT), Paul Pierce (NBA Champion), and LeBronze James. Carmelo is a good passer he's not a black hole the year he averaged 29 points he averaed 4 assists and averages over 3 assists for his career. And when Melo wants to be he is a good rebounder. He still averages over 6 for his career but he has the potential to average 8 a year. I kno he only ever averaged 7.4 a year at the most but he is no slouch on the boards and has great anticipation skills, strength and agility to be able to get in position for boards. But he rarely ever crashes the boards because he is usually leaking out on the break and leaving the rebounds for his big men.

And Scarecrow the The Nuggets have stated they do not want Deng and his big contract back in a trade for Melo. But that will change most likely if they include Noah.

And whoever made the point about Noah being up for an extension just made a great point. In fact the best point thus far in why the Bulls should trade him because Noah is not worth that kind of money but because of his passion he will get it. Just like Anderson Side Show Bob did with the Cavs. Although Noah is better then him, he still doesn't deserve that big money and I thought Chicago learned that lesson with Ben Wallace.

Who do the Bulls have that can actually make their own shot? Also, last time I checked, Rose isn't a playmaking point guard, so it's not like he is going to consistently make his other team mates who can't create their own shots a threat. What the bulls need is perimeter scoring, not just a bunch of slashers (deng, brewer, rose). I wouldn't go as far as saying Deng is more efficient over Melo, and that's why he is better fit. Deng is just another wing compared to Melo, and you say how Melo gets torched by LeBron, Deng will get torched even worse, and he wouldn't keep up either. Also, more on that point, hasn't Melo torched LeBron even worse than LeBron has to him going head to head? Melo is one of the only wings that actually matches LeBron when they play against each other (he actually beats him too in the process), so I don't know where you got that from. Melo can play good defense when he wants to, and he can score. I'd rather take the benefits that Melo brings over the one or two deminsions that Deng brings. Melo brings deminsions to your team that only top players bring.

I don't even want to get into the Noah thing. I've already talked about that too much in other threads...

DoubleDribbler listen to your

DoubleDribbler listen to your name: Your in violation. Did you just see what I posted. About Noahs age and the fact he is due for a contract extension will will probably net him only a few million less then Melo because of people like you who think he's the missing link to a championship. And you're wrong about Melo and Lebron, or atleast in thinking Deng is the answer. Bron eats Deng alive too and LeBron mr. all defensive team cant stop Melo either. So it's a wash in there matchups which are always legendary.

LeBron and Melo have went head to heard 12 times. In those matchups Melo's team has won 8 of them. There should be no excuses as to why Melo won 8 out of the 12 times they played because they both came into the league together and were drafted by terrible teams. Though LeBron put up better stats in the game 25, 7, and 5 compared to Melo's 22, 5 and 2 Melo's team found the way to win and Melo himself does a good job of Defending LeBron usually because he puts more effort into that matchup then probably any other matchup he plays.

Carmelo Anthony for his career averages 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Melo is 26.

Noah's career averages are 8 points, 8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.24 blocks. Noah is 25.

This is simple math guys there is no substituting for Anthony. Noah is a different story. Noah came into the league as a 22 year old JR. too and Melo as a 19 freshman so I don't wanna hear Noah was still developing excuse.

His career year last year too was 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 64 games. Besides being injury prone one name off the top of my head is somebody like Serge Ibeka who could fill that role.

Steroid I think we're were freaking out over the same statement and trying to construct the same exact argument against it at the same time hahaha...but is this not like one of the easier trades ever like Noah for Anthony=No Brainer. What has Noah done in this league? Theres a reason he's 25 and has never averaged over 28 a minutes a game thus far.

Head to head matchups matter

Head to head matchups matter A LOT especially when you know you're a playoff contending team. In the eastern conference playoffs, that is all the playoffs have been about: matchups.

No you didnt say Carmelo wasnt an unstoppable scorer, but you made the point of Lebron going to finals and having the best record as indicator that Lebron is superior. My point is that if that is unfair because everybody know the east has been a JV team compared to the west the last decade. My other point is that if Lebron was playing in the west he would not have been to the finals either. Lebron is good, but playing in the West has been much tougher than playing in the East.

So...your giving no credit to LeBron than? LBJ is superior. Plain and simple. If Melo and LBJ switched teams, I guarantee Melo wouldn't have led the Cavs to the best record in the NBA and led his team to the Finals. Melo is great, but LBJ is a much better player.

I do think Lebron is the more complete player, and if you switched teams maybe Melo would not have made it to the finals but he would of had a great chance, but also if you switched teams Lebron would not have made it either Lebron is the Superior player because is more complete and athletic, but not because he led his team to the finals in a weak Eastern Conference, and how many games did he win against the Spurs in that finals?

I'm not saying it's a sure

I'm not saying it's a sure thing, but I think that if that 09 Nuggets team had Lebron instead of Melo, they might have had a chance in the WCF. The series went to 6 games as it was, and I think Lebron would have improved that team.

To Everyone who wants to

To Everyone who wants to include Noah in the Melo trade. Did you watch the LA Utah Series last year. they got killed with boozer and millsap against Bynum, Gasol, odom ect

And Utah had better shooters in Williams and mathews playing big minutes then Rose, brewer and Deng to space the floor.

Denver Needs Noah Way more then chicago needs Melo, because Denver with noah and a replacement SF could win the west. Chicago couldn't win the east with melo boozer and kurt thomas as their starting frontcourt.

on the other side of things, derrick rose definitely wants to dethrone steve kerr in bulls history... maybe noah's trying his fame to make everyone forget about rodman... and luol deng needs to watch some youtube videos of pippen as one of the smartest and best defenders in league history lol

THis that dude just say Noah

THis that dude just say Noah and a replacement small forward could win the West? Unless that replacement small forward is Kevin Durant, which it wont, be, but lets say it Deng, Noah and Deng wont even make the playoffs in the west....R U OUT YOUR MIND DUDE? How good do you think Noah Is? Like seriously now. NOAH IS 25 YEARS OLD AND THE ONLY THING HE DOES SO FAR IN HIS CAREER IS HAVE A FEW NICE PLAYOFFS GAMES. WELL GUESS WHAT THEY STILL LOST THAT SERIES IN 5 GAMES NO MATTER HOW GOOD NOAH WAS!!!

Like let's come back down to earth here. I think Noah can average 12 rebounds next year possibly. But with Boozer in the fold even his rebounding becomes more expendable. And Noah still has no low post moves. And Just wait untill Dwight Gets his hands on him in a playoffs series.

This is just too much for me to fathom. Melo is only one year older then NOAH and has lead his team to like what 6 or 7 consecutive playoffs apearances including one WCF apearance. Imagine NOAH doing that.

And in terms of team chemistry, your talking about Carmelo Anthony, he has won everywhere he went. That wont change in Chicago.

Wasnt it just a few years ago

Wasnt it just a few years ago when the Bulls didnt want to give up Deng to get KOBE!, did they learn nothing from that. Give up Noah, who is an above average player, nothing more, so you can get a top 10 player in the league and propel yourselves to a top 3 team in the east, possibly even 2nd.

And to the person that said you shouldnt give up Noah because he stood up to LeBron, big deal, Melo can actually hang with LeBron on the court, not just chrip from the sidelines.

BTW, I'm not Noah bashing here, I actually like his intensity and attitude, but when you have a chance to get a top 10 player in the league, you do it, dont make the same mistake you did 3 yrs ago.

Carmelo

Nothing against Carmelo he's a excellent player, but they were an 8th seed until Billups came along. It's not always about raw talent... you need need to have "it" to raise your team above 55 wins and that was added with when they brought in Chauncey Billups. Along with Billups comes effort and accountability as well clutch shooting and ball distribution. Carmelo was thought to be immature before Billups arrived and was nearly traded... now he's considered top 5 player in the league and Denver is desperate to keep him.
