Pelicans have won 6 straight without Boogie and Anthony Davis has been going off. Here are some of his best games from the past month:

    53 points (16-29), 18 rebounds, 5 blocks
    45 points, 17 rebounds, 5 blocks, 5 steals
    42 points (15-18), 15 rebounds
    38 points (14-24), 10 rebounds
    44 points, 17 rebounds, 6 steals
    38 points, 9 rebounds
    43 points, 10 rebounds

I don’t know about anyone else, but for me he has to be in the MVP conversation

I’ve thought he was the most unique guy in the league for a couple of years now. Have no idea how you can be that good and get those numbers (ESPECIALLY with Cousins doing basically the same thing) and still lose that often.

He really is insane right now and they are only 1 1/2 games behind the 3rd place right now. The West is so tight right now I‘m very concerned my Thunder might be missing the playoffs.

Back to Davis I have to admit he was a little bit under the radar the last two years if we talk about the very elite in the league. Since KAT arrived many seemed to hop off the AD bandwagon for the next best thing but in reality AD is waaay beyond KAT on defense and in another universe regarding toughness.

What he is doing right now is really amazing and if he continues this the last 20 games and the Pels make the playoffs or even home court advantage he is past giannis in my book as runner up behind Harden. Maybe KD is in the mix too but Davis is phenomenal right now. My biggest concern is he will soon go down again like he often does when it’s on the line but hope he won’t and will continue domination going forward.

His team would be better off if he played center. He can’t change the way the an opposing teams offense attacks from the weakside. Look at how Embiid forces teams away from the rim. Joel gets less blocks but causes way more disruption. Davis can play outside in on offense but he needs to protect the paint or his numbers will never translate to championships. Same goes for KAT.

He has been immense in recent games and it’s ironic since DMC had his unfortunate injury that the Pelicans have been on such a hot run. Jrue Holiday also deserves credit as he has averaged 26ppg over the last 5 games and is having possibly his best NBA season ever.

Also nice to see veteran Emeka Okafor back and starting in the NBA after many years out. At least one Okafor is getting gametime.
