joe2324ParticipantWe all know Davis is a great player and will obviously get better over time and my question is do you think with his versatility, he can be the first player since David Robinson to record a QUAD double? Or even the first player ever to get a quintuple double. He does everything well on both sides, reminds me a little of Hakeem, but with better ball handling skills. Sky is the limit for Davis.

joecheck88ParticipantYes to all your questions my fellow Joe. I always said I’d draft Drummond over Davis at the time. I would be well off with Drummond but I would’ve really missed out not selecting Davis. He’s blossomed into this magnificent player so fast and it’ll be a joy to watch him get close to quadruple doubles and maybe even a quintuple double one day. No guarantee he will do either but I can’t think of a better candidate.

joe2324ParticipantDavis is def my favorite player to watch this year and going forward, He has a skillset that is extremely rare, haven’t seen it since Hakeem, but scary thing is I think he might turn out better than Hakeem when he retires. Its only his 3rd season, Maybe in 5 years, a stat line like this would be a possibility:
Anthony Davis: 27 Points, 16 Rebounds, 11 Assists, 10 Steals, 13 Blocks

lalailaParticipantyes it’s about versatility in this thread and not scoring but one of the scariest thing about Brow that how crazy it’s sound that bigman averaging 25ppg is actually better on D and he scores those points still basically without refined post moves yet.
it’s not only he has the abilities to lead the league in all major defensive categories (rebounds, blocks, steals) but at the same time there isn’t any reason not to believe that sometime in his prime he can g for close to 30ppg and scoring title

King CaluchaParticipantBetter on D?
I know I’ll get negged, but AD has long ways to go defensive-wise. He’s not particularly good in one-on-one situations.

DolanCareParticipantIf only he didn’t have to wait through Eric Gordon’s horrendous contract… and Tyreke to a similar extent. AD is the definition of a franchise player and the Pelicans could contend if they had the cap flexibility and draft picks to build around him.

Meditated StatesParticipantBetter than i expected already though. I thought he would be good but he is way better already than i thought he would be. I agree with the assessment that he is not good head up defensively. He is good at blocking shots.

apb540ParticipantI’m not sure what data you are using or games you have watched, but Anthony Davis is one of the best post defenders in the league. His only weakness is a lack of strength.

King CaluchaParticipantThis has to be clarified, I think. Anthony Davis is extremely long and athletic and he has the potential to be the best defender in the league. But right now when Davis is on the floor, opponents shoot 50% at the rim, basically the same impact Dirk has as a rim protector. That’s good enough for 25th overall for players with more than 5 opponents FGA per game.
Sometimes we get dazzled by the numbers and don’t see at the big picture.
