Anthony Bennett is similar to ...
Marcus fizer Upgrade?
Not so distant to Larry Johnson ?
Poor man little undersize Millsapp ?
BETTER THAN LEBRON JAMES ?
Poor man Undersize Paul Millsap? huh....lmao
Haha Milsap is one inch taller than Bennett....if you go by his program height of 6-8...in reality he is more like 6-6 without shoes. They are pretty much the exact same size. I don't know what on earth this guy was trying to say.
I'd say Larry Johnson is his closest comparison. Rodney Rodgers isn't far off either to be totally honnest.
Might be the only dude on this site that thinks he's overrated.
Al Harrington and Derrick Williams.
I understand the Al Harrington comparison but I think Bennett can be much better inside. He also won't likely ever shoot ever 6 threes a game for a whole season. He should be a better rebounder than Harrington too. I think people are getting a little carried away with the stretch 4 aspect of Bennett. He did make one 3 per game in college but those who are comparing him to Rodney Rogers are slightly underselling him in my estimation. Rodney Rogers only had 3 seasons in which he averaged over 5 rebounds per game...and he never averaged 6 per game. I would expect Bennett to come in immediately and grab at least 7 boards a game. He will be more active inside than Rogers even though they may have a similar skill set.
Bennett doesn't even like posting up. His build is misleading because he doesn't relish physical play. He's not a "dirty work" kinda guy either. His game leans more so to the finesse side. I mean, this is a guy who thinks he should be a SF. Because of that I think he's going to play in space and rely more so on his jumper and ability to blow by 4's.
funny, i dont understand the al harrington comp. harringtons shot was butter compared to bennett's
Carmelo-they are both chubby smooth scorers
Would be the closest comparison in my opinion.
Depending on how Bennett develops he could end up like an Antoine Walker/Larry Johnson type player.
I forgot how good Walker was when he was younger. He was always a chucker but he was a guy who could do a lot of things on the court. He was the only player in NBA history to shoot 8 3s per game and grab 8 boards per game for an entire season.
Only a handful of players have ever shot that many 3s per game for a season. Ray Allen did it his last 2 years in Seattle. Dennis Scott and George McCloud did it in 95-96 when they were one and two all time in 3s made in a season respectively. Quentin Richardson was the only other player to do it his one season in Phoenix in 05-06.
Larry Johnson pre-injury
Anthony Mason! 6'7 with handles and a inside game.
Brandon Bass with more range? Bass is quite the explosive leaper off two feet though, but both leave room for improvement in their post games.
impact wise i think he will be like Antawn Jamison.
