mike_r232ParticipantMarc Stein just tweeted that the Wolves have made Anthony Bennett available via trade ahead of the draft. For reference, Bennett averaged 5.2ppg, 3.8rpg in almost 16 mpg last season. He’s a 6’8 combo forward that certainly shouldn’t have been the #1 overall pick, but might still have some potential in him. Do you think anyone makes a move for him? What can the Wolves get for him? A couple second rounders or a late 1st?

goddagParticipantI just had this in the previous post. But to answer your question, yes I do think there’s a good chance he gets traded.
But that’s not the only trade they make that night I’m hearing.
Probably will be a busy draft night for them.0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/22/2015 - 7:54am #992485

mike_r232ParticipantSorry, saw that yours was in a link you posted. Vasquez would be a decent value for Bennett for the Wolves. Would give them a big guard with a good shot off of the bench. Feel bad that Bennett might be on his third team in three seasons.

Too FastParticipantIf Toronto agrees to trade General Greivis for Anthony Bennett that would be an absolute steal.

GBeeParticipantHis only value comes from him being expiring. No way he gets his 4th year picked up. Other than that, he’s a negative asset who isn’t worth his rookie contract. 1 for 1 he won’t fetch much. Probably a 2nd rounder. Tanking teams who are looking to roster fill and get up to the salary minimum seem like good trading partners Otherwise I’d probably hold onto him to see if his contract can be used as filler in a bigger deal.

cycloParticipantNever had the skills to be an NBA player. Amazing that a skilled player like Draymond Green can be a second round pick and an unskilled player like Anthony Bennett can go first overall. Players of similar size. Same position. Drafted a year apart.
Just don’t see Bennett remaining in the NBA much longer. If he were a center like Kwame Brown he could last a few more years, but at his size and without skills, nope.

KHAM83ParticipantToronto has been rumored at drafting a pg in the first round. I could see them trading Vazquez for the Canadian Bennette and a future pick.

SurefireWinnersParticipantCap hit of $5+MM, I can’t see anyone trading for him. Unless the Wolves give up cash or also take on a bad contract.
The Celtics are trying to trade Gerald Wallace and are offering someone a 1st rounder to TAKE his contract. Also expiring, $10MM contract.

MikezParticipantBoy the Timberwolves really messed up, they trade Kevin Love for Anthony Bennett and absorb Andrew Waggons (am I saying that right?) contract and now apperantly they think they’re bigger than the Bennett, well let me tell you something, nobody is bigger than Anthony Bennett.
I would take him back on the Cavaliers, he just has a great jumpshot would be good off the bench, he also wouldn’t have the same weight problem in Cleveland because Damon Jones eats everything in sight.

omphalosParticipantI think it’d be dumb to trade him so soon.
He and Wiggins have a bond. He hasn’t really been healthy yet and he’s still got plenty of room to grow as a player.

holefillers1Participantit would be one thing if this guy was Derrick Coleman and just needed to work on his body and conditioning. Dude is always hurt has a super low bbiq and plays soft, finesse basketball at what, 250lbs? I think not only will you be unable to garner anthong in return, you may have to pay to get rid of him.

Tar86ekParticipantQuincy Acey and langston galloway for Anthony Bennett and second round pick or giorgi dieng.
Draft: Russell or Mudiay
Sign Monroe/love
Trade Hardaway for a 17-23 draft pick and select Harrell, Grant or Looney
Front court set/PG set
Save half of the available money for Kevin Durant/or next best available.
