Evan_MilbergParticipantNot terribly surprising, but now it’s official. Simons has declared for the draft. Where do you all see him landing? Most mocks I’ve seen have him mid-late first. I think his best case scenario is to end up on a playoff team like Indiana or Washington where he can develop for a few years before there’s any real expectations of him.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantHe needed a year of college to develop his decision making and jumper. He can shoot, dribble and drive but he is more of a scorer than a complete PG

Miko4rm206ParticipantHe’s a Florida guy and Orlando just gave away their starting PG for nothing basically. Just Saying. It all depends on his Workouts and Combine. If he takes the Thon Maker route things can become real interesting.

BeardedDragon84ParticipantWell we ain’t picking him with our first! And I cant see him falling into the second round… I’m against trading down, we need a top 5 pick that hits extremely badly. However, if we can trade the okc pick along with somebody with + value, or a second, or maybe both, to grab him in the 20’s I definitely would.

mamadouParticipantI think the wizards will go big, Gortat is declining real fast.
Pacers could use a more nba ready player in their rotation, a role player, a floor spacer, a 3 and D.
I don’t want him for my suns, even with 3 first rounders, 2 mid first., he’s too young/green for a young, losing team, a toxic environment.
I could see the Hawks gambling on him with their wolves pick, they’ll go BPA big(PF-C) with their own pick, Simmons with the wolves pick, upperclassmens with their rockets pick and early 2nd rounder.
Maybe a 2nd rounder, d-league is waiting.

holefillers1ParticipantHe reminds me of a young Lou Williams. Maybe a better defender. Sixers should use their own pick to grab him in tge late teens.

GBeeParticipantHe doesn’t remind me of Lou outside of being thin and score first. He’s much more of a shooter than Lou was coming out. Lou was more of a pure slasher. While athletic, I don’t think he has the ability to get all the way to the rim yet, but he can sure shoot the hell out of the ball. He can get his shot off in a variety of ways too: spot up, on the move and off the dribble, from all ranges with a super quick release. I really like his potential as a shooter/scorer, but he’s so physically underdeveloped. While I do think he has decent passing instincts as far as making simple plays and has good vision, he’s clearly score first. He has the handle and he has the feel for the game, but doesn’t have the feel for the position. Physically, he’d probably be bullied, even at the PG position. It’s a shame we likely won’t able to see those PG skills develop should he stay in this draft since he’d likely be developed behind the scenes. I love his potential though and would take him as high as late lotto. He’d just have to go to a team that doesn’t really need anything from him for the next few seasons.

holefillers1ParticipantYou are right about Lou being a better scorer. I was speaking more to their size and them coming out of HS.
Simons looks like he is about 16 y.o. but his stroke is pure. Part of why I would like the Sixers to draft him is so I can watch his growth…definitely a selfish reason. I have a feeling that his athletisicm will increase with his strength. If he is developed properly he will be a handful in 3-4 years.0
