Thought this was pretty cool from ESPN Sports Science. The stride length was noticeable the other night against Oklahoma State. I feel like Durant covers a ton of area, though Wiggins is such a long strider. Speed is obvious, he is like a guard when he gets a head of steam. Really hoping we see what his max vert reach is at the combine. When they did the athletic testing for Team Canada’s U18 team, word was he had a 44-inch vert. His game definitely needs work in certain areas, the athleticism is absolutely elite even by NBA standards. Just have always felt that while people go on about whether he will reach his ceiling, his floor is high enough that it is hard to imagine him not being one of the better wing players in the league down the line.

and when he scores, he scores easy.

I wrote earlier that when I saw Lebron James play live on the Cavs vs the Sixers he dropped the easiest  36 points I’ve ever seen.

I think Parker works much harder for his points.  So does Randle.  That causes fatigue especially for Parker, a guy who is already a bit doughy and breathes hard out there.

Wiggins also has that mental fire when he chooses to display it.  He needs to have it at all times, but he definitely steps up when challenged and does not cower.

I think you’re getting it confused. Just because Jabari can create his shot with complicated dribble moves does not mean he has to work hard for every basket. If i do recall correctly he does just fine with short corner spot ups and spot up 3’s. Coach k puts Jabari in  a position to grow as a creative scorer Andrew wiggins is opportunistic in his scoring. Not much of a creator. And Kevin love was also very pugey. He doesn’t have a problem at all in the league. The body type argument is so stupid

Having the speed of Chris Paul, the athleticism of Lebron James, and the stride of Kevin Durant usually translates well in the NBA.

At this moment, I’ve come full circle and would take Wiggins #1 overall. Parker came out hot early, Embiid showed growth and potential before the injury, and Wiggins has been get better and better, especially with the confidence in his jump shot.

He is so far ahead of anybody I’ve seen in a decade in terms of overall athletic ability. I’ll even go and say his athleticism is comparable to that of LeBron. I think what sets LeBron apart from everyone else is that he works relentelessly on his athleticism. We knew that Karl Malome, the one player that people compare Lebron to in terms of frame, speed and size, took very good care of his body so may be that’s also why he waas able to carry that much weight and be so good at running the floor. I really think that if Andrew wanted to, he could be cut in the same mold as LeBron. If he wanted to add more weight in his frame, which looks like it can add all the weight he needs, while keeping his open court and force, he can.

Eh… I don’t know… I remember when Kobe bulked up to 220 in the mid of his career for strength and his improved post dominance on increasingly smaller guards, it did affect his quickness and overall health.

Wiggins looks like he’d max out at 225ish with is size, and really focus on lower body and core strength.

Lebron was 245 coming out of high school.

Physically, Wiggins reminds me of a 6’8 Derrick Rose.

I don’t know where you got the Derrick Rose comparison but with his size, 225 pounds is relatively on the low-mid of his max. carrying weight. May be it was a mistake trying to compare him to LeBron cos out of highschool LeBron already had plenty of weight. But I think if he adopted James’ training regimen and diet, who knows. I think it’s a stretch too but he’s the only one worth putting my money’s worth. It’s like he has a pogo stick on his shoes.

This just tells me he will continue to get easy baskets at the next level.  Especially with a more open floor.
