I know a lot of people are a tad Andrew’ed out and that For_Never_Ever posted a mix the other day, but I have to say this one is a tad more epic. You can just see Andrew being a go-to guy down the line at such a high level. His athleticism for his size is out of this world, would love to have seen his combine #’s for the U18 team (Canada Basketball teamed up with Sports Testing Inc., but unfortunately the results have not been released to my knowledge).

Just wanted to state a rumor that I feel may be a possible exaggeration (only slight) but this was from an article by Dave Feschuk of the Toronto Star, who I believe was at the combine testing:

This week, when national team staff attempted to quantify Andrew Wiggins’s vertical leap, Wiggins jumped higher than the measuring apparatus could measure. Officials had to elevate the device to properly assess the bounds of Wiggins’ explosiveness. The gist: His 44-inch vertical leap and 6-foot-11 wingspan mean he can touch 12-foot-6, six inches below the top of an NBA backboard.

The rest of the article: http://www.thestar.com/sports/basketball/article/1208616–feschuk-canadian-hoops-prospect-andrew-wiggins-on-fast-track-to-nba

Well, enjoy the mixtape and see if you believe that reported vert to be true:

He’s got bounce for sure, but I doubt he has a 44 in. vert. They’re always hyping up these guys verts these days.

A 44 inch vertical is crazy. He really is a phenom.

I’ve been on this site for easily 10 years now and never bothered to make an account to post my comments. But all this wiggins hype has finally made me express my thoughts. The kid is for real! the last time i seen a high school prospect dominate the way he has this past summer we would have to go back to derrick rose’s senoir season and maybe even abit further back. His mix of athleticism, explosiveness and skill set is second to none! his ceiling is head and shoulders above parker or randells. I believe the only thing lacking in his game right now would be a killer instict and some added grit (Get Mean). If he continues to develop the way he has and adds that grit, i believe ur looking at the next superstar in the league. We all now his background and he obviously has the genes to give him the edge over all others.

That would mean when he enters the NBA, he would have the second or third highest vert in recorded NBA History. I really doubt it is that high. Gerlad Green was rumor to have 43 inch vert, but it ended  up being 39 and he can get his eyes above the rim. I’m thinking it’s around 38 to 41.

i don’t doubt it for_never_ever, he has one of the best jumps i’ve seen.

not only quick jump, but effortless. he can do it off one foot or two. and his mid air balance is outstanding.

Ok, when watching Wiggins, do you believe he jumps higher than Vince Carter and Nate Robinson ?

well, when they test vert he’s just jumping with no ball and i’ve only seen him jump when he’s dunkin it mid game… so i couldn’t tell you.

if there is any1 who i believe has a 44 inch vert is wiggins.

you’re probably right though, 40-41 inch vert sounds about fair

Those two pretty hold the record Nate having a 43.5 and Vince is 43. I’ll just have hard time believing a 16 year old kid no less vert is higher than these two.

We’re both supposed to have a standing vertical  leap measured at  48 inches …. But honestly closer to 42 inches seems a lot more believable.  Jordan and Wilkens both did 42 Inch standing vertical leap and I doubt  anyone  15% better than them

A 44 inch vert for wiggins makes sense imo. Hes 6’7 and the rim is 10 feet. He has his head around rim level on plenty of his dunks which means he has to have at least a 41 inch vert right there…It wouldnt be too hard to jump an extra 3 inches in your vert testing.
