Andrea Bargnani
"rebounding like he's 6'1..."
Sadly, there are even 6'1 players like Rajon Rondo rebounding better than him. And unless he looked in the mirror and said "What can I do to help my team?", he has NO right to call the Raptors out. The way this organization is being run is so embarrassing.
It's depressing being a raptors fan, I'm glad we got Kyle Lowry but we traded our pick which we will likely keep as it is top 3 protected, but will probably lose it next year with that monster 2014 class :(. Bargs is calling the team out because he hopes he gets traded even though he's a main cause of why we suck, Bryan doesn't know how to run a team and should be out the fckin door at the end of the season. Maybe I bein optimistic but I would like to see Charles Barkley become our next GM
too bad chuck hates toronto so that would never happen...and if you're looking at the TNT crew, reggie is prob the most intelligent and capable of being a good gm.
Bargnani is getting paid to play basketball. The sad thing I think he knows he isn't getting paid to get better and only to keep playing
Bargnani has got a great skill set but 4rpg for a 7 footer is ridiculous, if he had a monster defensive guy alongside him like a D12 fair enough but the guy is really a swingman skillset playing as a frontcourter. Maybe it is time for a change of scenery for him.
As regards the pick that Toronto gave up to get Lowry and now resides with Oklahoma it could be huge to Oklahoma if it ends up as 4th or 5th pick, so Toronto need to improve or hope their lottery numbers come up.
well a simple solution could be starting either ed davis or amir johnson over Andrea, sure he has great skill set, but it does not translate to wins, of course amir and ed have limited range but at least they better defensively and rebounding, they could easily get more rebound and could toughen up the paint,
and with the benching of barg, they would need a go to scorer, one problem is that there is no one in there current roster, i can't see Fields and Derozan taking up 25 shots per game and be effiecient,
That's what the raps used Andrea's words as, motivation to spank the mavs by 20. Thank god Primo pasta is injured, hopefully now the raps can string together a few wins without this 17 fga per game no defense no rebounding chump. His skillset is not the problem, the talent is there we have all seen Andrea go off for 30 grab 10+ boards on a given night, he can do it he just chooses not to. His mindset is what kills him as a player and this team as a whole, he wants to ball stop and take shots like he's Dirk... but he isn't. People try to call him dirk lite but he's not, atleast dirk rebounds the ball, shoots efficiently from all over the floor, works on his game every year and oh yeah... he actually gives a &$#%#&@! about winning and leading his team. It makes me really sad when I see a rookie like Jonas who lives and breathes basketball, get introduced to the NBA by a sloppy mentor like Bargnani who shows no passion for the sport, other than a love of shooting the basketball (albeit poorly and innefficiently).
The raptors pretty much suck because of him... This is a guy with tons of potential!! Who would say Kyle Lowry who is 6'0 would be grabbin more rebounders than him who's a 7 footer!! This dude needs to refocus his priorities on the hardword.
He was actually misquoted when talking to a newspaper back home in Italy, his quote got lost in translation. You all need to get off his back.
Although I'm glad to hear that it was a case of "lost in translation" and that Andrea will be dealing with it through his lawyers. However, regardless of his remarks his production and lack of leadership is what burns Raptors fans up, all the quote did was add fuel to the bonfire. (whether warranted or not)
Any player who has to play center or power forward to be effective, and averaged under 5 rebounds in starter minutes, is a player I dont want on my team. Especially when hes supposed to be a core piece to a franchise. I love his offensive ability. But he is the softest, most pathetic rebounder I've ever seen. Most 7 footers can fall in to 7 boards over 30 minutes... To me, his weaknesses are too exploitable for him to be a starter on a championship team. Let him be a 7 foot Toni Kukoc.
OKC bigs have Thabeet, Collison, Ibaka and Perkins - no real great offense there. I think the Thunder needs a scoring big off the bench, I could see them possibly in the mix with Bargnani

Am I the only one that thinks Andrea Bargnani was way out of line to call his team the worst in the league? I do first off he's one of the main reasons why the raptors suck as he has regressed terribly this season and is still chunking threes like he's Ray Allen and rebounding like he's 6'1, he is also one of the worst #1 overall picks ever and hasnt attempted to change his playstyle at all, and he never tries to make an effort on the glass or rebounding in his career. I think it's time to send him and Bryan Colalngelo packing.
