Dgtool2ParticipantAndre Iguodala the Finals MVP. Wow

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantHow you gunna give him the mvp when the guy couldn’t make a damn free throw the whole series. I bet lebron told Adam silver he didn’t want it.

mgreener_34ParticipantHis FT% was just as good as LeBrons FG%, so what’s the point?
0- Posted on: Tue, 06/16/2015 - 7:00pm #990315
MorseWillParticipantFT % is supposed to greatly exceed your FG % though..? Unless you’re deandre lol

mgreener_34ParticipantThat’s terrible logic. This guy is killing one player for shooting way below league average in one statistic, then praises another player who is shooting way below league average in another category. It makes no sense to me. I’m not even talking about the raw stats here, just the %’s.

EspressoprodigyParticipantI was gonna quickly post post wow. Thats exactly what op did!
Wow. It pretty much sums up everything. Last year Kawhi Leonard. This year iggy. Unbelievable, considering this is the NBA

Jerrell7ParticipantI’m shocked he won it but I’ve always liked his game. He deserves it. He was miscast for so long in philly and the city gave him the mcnabb treatment. So under appreciated. But I guess that what helped make this moment. Looks like we was stuck on the wrong a.i.

cg085hParticipantHe brought it all 6 games. Iggy being put in the starting lineup was the difference maker it saved the Warriors when they were down 2-1.

bdoody42ParticipantIggy forced Lebron into hard shots all series. Great move by Kerr to start him. 3-0 with Iggy as a starter shows how important he was.

wonzi_bellsParticipantA couple days ago Ethan Sherwood-Strauss mentioned how he couldn’t give Iggy the MVP because the Cavs were leaving him open for a lot of wide open jump shots, which was true. I’m fine with it though.
Still wanted LeBron to win it just for curiosity-sake. Would he have to go up on the platform with the Warriors behind him? We’ll never know.

tblazer_NZParticipantWas Iggy’s defence this series better than Kawhi’s last year? Shooting percentage wise he shot worse this year but he had no other really threating players to help him score.
36.6-12.4-8.8 shooting .399-.344-.712 (stats not including this last game)
verses
28.2-7.8-4.0 shooting .571-.519-.793 wth 3.8 TOs per game (He had great shooters and 2 allstar running mate to give him more freedom)

BiggysmallsParticipantGood for him. I like when non-mainstream guys get recognized. Iggy is a really good player and would start for a lot of teams and its cool to see a guy who sacrificed individual stats get rewarded at the end.
My gawd people are so overboard on FTs its not even funny. Just the dumbest logic ever for ppl when it comes to FT shooting. Its one stat.
Does he entirely deserve it? No. Take him off the Warriors team and they still might win the series. They might not, I’m not sure. Take James off Cleveland, and they don’t come within 20 in any game. But I get it, his team lost. It’s kinda lazy in my opinion but it isn’t SO important that anybody should really care.

GrandmamaParticipantHe deserves it. Played great defense the entire series on Lebron. Yeah Lebron put up stats, but his usage rate was through the roof. He basically had the ball in his hand every possession and the primary ball-handler. He should have put up even better stats, but Iggy was great. He was also good in transition, hit some big 3’s, and was able to show he’s still a very good player. But those free throws….
38% FG% from Lebron…. **chuckles** He should have averaged 50 ppg taking that many shots.

vulture711ParticipantI’m very happy for him. The league is chock full of 76ers who are in a better place then wallowing in a rebuild

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantWhat’s great about him winning mvp is that it kind of validates everything he has been about his whole career as far as sacrafice, unselfishness and doing whatever it takes for the team. He was criticized earlier in his career for not being more of a go-to guy in philly. A lot of players of his stature would have pouted and demanded a trade if asked to come off the bench, considering he’d be starting and playing big mins for just about every other team in the league.
Despite the poor ft shooting, he was golden state’s most consistent player on both ends of the floor throughout the series. It’s well-deserved and nice to see that they didn’t just automatically reward the star player on the team, although I would have no problem if they gave it to curry.

Meditated StatesParticipantAfter adding said player. Player had triple double and drove LBJ crazy. Worthy MVP of the finals. He was a beast besides the ft shooting, and it never cost them a win either.

A Lil EnglishParticipantI’m so pleased for Iguodola and Barnes for after battling inconsistency. Not to mention being in and out of the lineup. Guys like them seem to do whatever it takes to help the team without causing too much fuss.
Also Barbosa after he was a good player for the Nash’s Phoenix team that could never make it to the finals. Also David Lee after seeing his minutes diminish.
