I really think Drummond is going to have a breakout year for the pistons!! He is still raw offensively, but he is showin great improvement and has yet to work with the dream. He also has been showing a mean streak in the summer league, to go along with improved awareness on D. I think he will average about 16ppg 15rpg and 2.5 blocks this year. I truly believe he has the potential to be the closest thing to wilt if he reaches that max peak on his ceiling. He is truly a gift from the big man gods from a physical standpoint. I ready for the negs, so let them rain down on me. This is all just my opinion.

Wilt???? No way will he ever be a Wilt. I think Andre can be like D Howard was in Orlando. A dominant defender/interior presence that will be an excellent rebounder and block alot of shots. He’s still learning and has a long way to go on the offensive end and he’ll never be as dominant on offense as Wilt. If he can work on his free throws, he’ll get 16 points a game easy just off dunks and free throws. Imagine when he gets it together on offense!!!

That is double his production last year, and he played 20 minutes per game. I think Andre will be a double double player as a sophomore, maybe 10 ppg 10 rpg. You have to remember he was a 37% free throw shooter last season and didn’t exactly show he’d worked on it much by shooting 33% in Summer League play.

Andre has a great deal of potential, but this is an absurd jump for year two. You realize that 16 ppg/15 rpg/2.5 bpg in the NBA regular season would be more than what he averaged against Mason Plumlee, Steven Adams, and Jarvis Varnado twice? How do you figure Andre Drummond will be better against the guys he’ll be going up against in his own conference? Joakim Noah, Andrew Bynum, Roy Hibbert and Larry Sanders will do a worse job containing him than two rookies and a 6’9” skinny journeyman? No way.

I didn’t neg you, but seriously, these numbers are based on nothing. Andre’s biggest challenge will be controlling his fouls so he can stay on the court. His 36 min adjusted fouls per game pace as a rookie was 4.2 fpg. No player averaged more than 3.8 last season because picking up two early cuts into your minutes, picking out a couple to start the 3rd quarter cuts into your minutes. As a starter Andre was about a 27 mpg player and fouled 3.9 times per game. Detroit would have liked him to play more, but fouling that much forces coaches to make strategic moves in order to keep a player on the court when it matters most. I don’t see a way where Andre can log the minutes that would justify him dropping 16/15/2.5 ( 41 based off last year’s stats ) and I don’t see how he’d do better against NBA starting caliber centers than he did against a the crew he faced in SL.

I’m sure Wilt could probably hold his own but I wouldn’t say he would be dominant against today’s players (although he’d certainly fare better against the current state of big men then some of the last 10-20 years).

Shaq was pretty darn athletic. I will say more so than Wilt or Drummond, but maybe about even with Dwight (and I despise Dwight but Dwight if anything is an impressive athlete). Here are some Shaq rookie season highlights…I don’t think anyone in the league right now compares. His ball handling, passing, post-moves and most importantly coordination all better.
