The common thing among these guys are the meteoric rise on draft boards due to their play as of late. Anderson was the only guy in the group pegged as a lottery pick before the season but his stock improved alot since the pac 12 tourny. Are you guys buying into these prospects for what they are and their entire body of work? Or do you believe in the dramatic stock surge due to their late season play and notoreity as of late?

Guys like Kemba, Jimmer, Gordon Hayward, Trey Burke, Gorgui Dieng, Cole Aldrich, Jeremy Lamb, Steph Curry, Eric Maynor, Derrick Williams to name a few, all had great conference and or ncaa tournaments which raised their stock tremendously. My question is; are the 4 original prospects ive mentioned above really worth the hype?

Well let’s just go down the list of guys you mentioned. Kemba Walker, Gordon Hayward and Steph Curry are all legit NBA starters or better. Trey Burke and Gorgui Dieng are both rookies showing quite a bit of promise. Burke is averaging 12 3 and 5, Dieng has been fantastic for the Wolves lately. This is Jeremy Lamb’s first time getting decent PT in the NBA. He’s averaging 15 5 and 3 per 36 minutes so with time he should be a pretty solid starter. Derrick Williams was in an offense that didn’t fit him at all in Minnesota and continues to pretend he’s a wing when he isn’t. Jimmer could be a decent scoring option off the bench but he tried to be a PG (he’s not one) and plays zero defense. Cole Aldrich and Eric Maynor are both end of the bench guys but are young and who knows wha will happen, although Maynor wasn’t all that hyped.

So yeah, I’d say they are all worth taking a shot at. I think all four will be at least semi-successful in the NBA. They all bring something desirable to the table.

I like Warren the most out of those four. I think Anderson will be a lottery pick simply because I think teams will be intrigued by his size and jack of all trades ability. I don’t think top five is very realistic especially in this draft for him.

kyle anderson – yes.  dude has a special ball handling-size combo that is uncomparable.  if the guy can play pg at such a consistent, high level in college; i don’t have any doubt that he can do it at the next level.  a team with a shooting pg (like detroit) has to love the possibilities of having another guy on the court that has those kind of abilities.  definitely see him in the lottery.  detroit, cleveland, minnesota and phoenix all have sf needs.

shabazz napier – yes.  i think a lot of people forgot how influential he was in their championship run 4 years ago.  the guy is electric quick and knows how to use his frame and score.  i think any team in need of a pg or a guy to jump start their 2nd unit would love him.  mid to first round is definite possiblity.  look out for toronto.

tj warren – yes.  the guy can flat out score.  last year, he scored 12 ppg on 8.5 shots per game.  this year, brown, wood, purvis and howell weren’t there.  warren bascially doubled those numbers.  his 3-pt jumper is the main concern, but on a team with floor spacers he’d be a great addition.  see him as a lotto pick too.  4-5 teams are looking for sfs.

cleanthony early – maybe.  coming from juco and then playing against weak competition pose questions.  the size and athleticism is there, but wichita st. was a man among boys in their conference.  they had elite guards (compared to conference foes) that made early’s life pretty easy.  i don’t buy the lotto pick but i see him going late 1st round.  utah has a serious need at sf and i don’t think they’ll reach for one with their 1st pick (if wiggins and parker are gone), so i’d speculate that is an option.  charlotte is an option too since i think the mgk experiment is wearing thin on upper management.

Well, I think the Lakers could sell a future strategy of drafting Kyle Anderson this season, getting Kevin Love next year along with drafting a center in the lottery to help Kobe and Nash ride off into the sunset.

one thing with anderson is that his play did not change at all in the tourny. In fact his points, rebounds and assists all dropped in the tourny compared to regular season play. The only difference is that he finally got some more screen time and media hype due to the bruins making the sweet 16. His stock is not riding some wave based on late season performance wherever you think his stock is at this point.

he should have had alot of hype earlier in the season he was doing what he did in confrence play all season but he was in the shadow of the parker hype

also warrens touch is outstanding and he just gets his shot off when you least expect it he is a capable 3pt shooter its just that his shot selection was questionable and he fades when he shouldnt however he shot .314% for his career from deep shooting oer 50% in his freshman year he also moves great without the ball and doesnt need his number to be call and is also a fantastic offensive rebounder with 3.2 a game i think his potential is underrated i see alot of paul pierce in him i in no way think he will have the same caliber of career as him but its a good comparasion and he has that rare knack for scoring and being able to go from cold to onfire quickly

I really like Early, I see some Glenn Rice in his game.  He is a three/four but I think will be effective scoring at the next level.  I wouldn’t be supprised to see him go late lottery mid first round.  In the nba I think he needs to be a three or stretch four but I question his foot speed defending other threes.  Overall though and I can see him contributing right away.
