If an NBA Draft was held and any players historically could be chosen, what would the top 15 look like?

    1. LeBron James

    2. Kevin Durant

    3. Kareem Abdul-Jabar

    4. Kobe Bryant

    5. Michael Jordan

    6. Tim Duncan

    7. Shaquille O’Neal

    8. Shawn Kemp

    9. Dennis Rodman

    10. John Stockton

    11. Larry Bird

    12. Scottie Pippen

    13. Magic Johnson

    14. Bill Walton

    15. Danny Ainge

    Thoughts?

Are we looking at these players as just prospects before their accolades or all time including accoladess?

I feel like half of the original list doesn’t belong. I’ll just rate my top 15 players ever, in no order.

Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, Tim Duncan, Shaquille O’Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, Bill Russell, Kobe Bryant, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Karl Malone, Julius Erving

I mean, is this a horrible list on purpose?  Maybe you’re on the younger side, but there are just so many things wrong with that top 15, I won’t get into it.  I do, though, like the topic.

    1. Jordan

    2. Lebron

    3. Wilt

    4. Magic

    5. Bird

    6. Shaq

    7. Russell

    8. Kareem

    9. Bird

    10. Duncan

    11. Kobe

    12. Hakeem

    13. Oscar Robertson

14 and 15 are tough.  Probably go with Dr J and Malone.

Honorable mention:  Stockton, Pippen, Dirk, Barkley, Isiah

I’m confused.   Under what criteria does Danny Ainge go top 15 in something like this?

When I seen the title I thought it would be the best player drafted in the First Round for each pick 1-30.

Mike had a pretty good list, but I’ll do mine anyway.

    1. Michael Jordan

    2. Magic Johnson

    3. Larry Bird

    4. Lebron James

    5. Wilt Chamberlain

    6. Bill Russell

    7. Kobe Bryant

    8. Shaquille O’Neal

    9. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

    10. Tim Duncan

    11. Hakeem Olajuwon

    12. Oscar Robertson

    13. Julius Erving

    14. John Stockton

    15. Allen Iverson

Guys like Barkley, Durant, Ewing, Malone, Nowitzki, Pippen, Thomas and West (no particular order) would be honourable mentions.

So if you look at this list as the best prospects (and not by their final careers)

    1. Kareem Abdul Jabbar

    2. Hakeem Olajuwon

    3. Ralph Sampson

    4. Magic Johnson

    5. Wilt Chamberlain

    6. Lebron James

    7. Shaquille O’Neal

    8. Allen Iverson

    9. Patrick Ewing

    10. Tim Duncan

    11. Chris Webber

    12. Bill Walton

    13. Oscar Robertson

    14. Anthony Davis

    15. Yao Ming

As you can see, talented big men, always have, and always will go before talented swingmen in the NBA Draft.

Are we going by careers or an actual draft where these guys would be eligible coming out of hs/college??  If its the latter, Wilt Chamberlain would be picked first in almost every draft in history, Shaq and Lebron would be his only competition.  Guy was a freak and still would be today.
