ShekiruBoomParticipanthere was my vote
West- pg CP3, sg Kobe sf Durant pf Gasol and C Marc Gasol
East- pg Rose, sg Wade sf LeBron pf Amare and C Howard
hmm who do you think is best Center in the Western conference. i was shocked by the lack of a true all star caliber center in the West. I just chose Gasol over Okafor, who lead in efficiency, because i’m hoping gasol would get back to the 15, 10 line he had last year and wouldn’t it be cool if the gasol brothers play together? lol. and for pg in the East?? I had really hard time between Rose and Rondo lol who do you think?? and pf too… Amare or Bosh? I chose amare because bosh has been disappointing but again don’t really know lolol

mj23mj23besteverParticipantdont be shocked if yao wins the vote getting at c the pg spot should be a very close vote in the east between rose n rondo wouldnt be shocked if wall gets alot of votes howard will run away with the c vote in the east and i also wouldnt be shocked if all the 3 of the heat start even though bosh so far has no reason even being on the all star team

sammybuckeye13ParticipantMarc Gasol? In a serious All-Star lineup? He’s good, sure, but he’s averaging 11.9 points for a 4-8 team and his numbers are DOWN from last year.
Duncan is still averaging more points, rebounds and blocks and the Spurs are 9-1.
Al Jefferson is averaging more points, rebounds and blocks and the Jazz are 8-4.
And you want to vote for a young center who is REGRESSING on a BAD TEAM and despite being 7-feet is averaging 0.9 blocks? C’mon son.

bigblackNbeautifulParticipantIsnt on the forward ballot…. But ariza, hill and landry among others are….. he got shafted. I hope he keeps killing it with his averaging 21.5 ppg, 9.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists , 1.2 steals and shooting nearly 60% from the field. How is this not good enough for the ballot.

SwatLakeCityParticipantLook on the West ballot for centers, sammybuckeye, and you will find that it is extremely weak. The best their is Marc Gasol and Emeka Okafor. Yao Ming is there but I expect him to be hurt by the allstar break again. If Jefferson or Duncan were available I’d vote for either of them in a heartbeat. Unfortunately they aren’t. I also think that NBA made serious mistake by not include Millsap on the ballot. They should include Jefferson and Duncan as Centers, replace Jefferson’s spot in the forwards with Millsap. Unfortunately NBA doesn’t realize how much Millsap deserves to be on the ballot. He averages 21.5ppg, 9.5rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.3spg, and 0.7bpg, what else do you have to do to get on the allstar ballot?
My votes: West, PG Deron Williams, SG Kobe Bryant, SF Kevin Durant, PF Pau Gasol, C Emeka Okafor(But if Big Al were available at Center I’d put him here in a heartbeat)
East: PG Derrick Rose, SG Dwayne Wade, SF Lebron James, PF Amare Stoudamire, C Dwight Howard

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantYeah the Western Conference lineup is weak at center. I really don’t see why they wouldn’t put Pau on there, he’s been playing center all year. There are seven centers from the East that I would choose over any of the guys available from the West (Dwight, Horford, Hibbert, Bogut, Noah, Lopez and even Bargnani). If Demarcus Cousins manages to cut down on his fouls and begins to average 30 mins a game he might be able to get this.
And Millsap got absolutely shafted, while both Jefferson and AK47 are on the ballot at forward. Brendan Haywood is on the ballot and Tyson Chandler who has been far more productive and starts over him wasn’t on the ballot? Sometimes I wonder who picks these ballots and whether or not they actually follow the NBA…
Anyway this is my ballot as of now, but I prob won’t actually submit it for another 20 games or so. The Hardest decisions for me right now were CP3 over Deron, Rose over Wade, Carmelo over Durant, picking the second forward in the East and choosing between all the average to mediocre centers in the West.
West
F Pau Gasol (Really wish he was listed at C so that I could shift him to the pivot and put KD or Millsap at F)
F Carmelo Anthony (improved rebounding, defence and efficiency from the floor give him the edge on KD so far)
G Chris Paul (numbers between him and Deron are very comparable but his team is 9-1 so far)
G Kobe Bryant (Deron is a great player but it’s hard to put him in over Kobe even with a better PER)
C Emeka Okafor (11.8 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 2.3 BPG, 60 FG% makes him the best of the bunch)
East
F Lebron James (still the best forward in the game)
F Josh Smith (all around numbers very impressive;15.9 PPG, 9.7 RPG, 3.9 APG, 3.2 BPG, 1.3 SPG)
G Rajon Rondo (14.9 APG and 2.6 SPG make him hard to pass over)
G Derrick Rose (25.5 PPG and 8.7 APG while carrying the Bulls gives him the nod over Wade so far in the year)
C Dwight Howard (you have the defensive stalwarts at center like Noah and Bogut, and the impact offensive pivots like Brook Lopez and Andrea Bargnani but nobody combines the two as well as Howard)
