So the coaches have spoken & named the All-Star reserves.

    Who are your biggest snubs?

Joel Embiid. Play with a chip on your shoulder and earn it. It will come soon enough. Don’t act like a buffoon, it just makes you look like an immature fool.

I actually have no problem with any of the selections with the exception of DeAndre Jordan. Their were definitely several more worthy players in the Western conference imo.

Gobert basically does the same thing Jordan does and has done in better so far this year. Even though Portland has struggled so far, Damien Lillard is having another phenomenal individual season that has gone unrecognized with an all-star selection for the second year in a row. I would’ve even gone with Mike Conley over jordan to be honest.

If Milsap & Embiid were traded straight up Phila would go right back to being the worst team in the NBA & Atlanta would be Cleveland’s biggest threat in the East. True or False?

Has anyone looked at Embiid advanced Defensive Metrics? This is about what happens On the court, I don’t care what people think about his Twitter game.

His Def ratings are Better than Rudy Gobert & he scores More & rebounds as much as Milsap in 10 fewer minutes & Defensively its not even close. He is Miles better than Milsap at every measurable skill on a basketball court.

This was agents, coaches & players throwing the 32 y/o Milsap a final bone. I would have been ok if Whiteside got that spot even though Embiid is just better than all these guys right now but I could understand that. But Milsap who does not have to play Defense or Rebound b/c Dwight Howard does that job for him b/c Milsap can’t. I don;t just want to pick on Milsap we can compare him to Love too. This is not a lifetime achivement award. It’s about who had the Best 1st half.

It’s funny we won’t judge Embiid on what he Actually did On the court so we make a up a "he did not play enough Metric" meanwhile 1/2 the players on this All Star team only play on One end of the court. I would have taken Porzingus over Lowry too & only picked 4 guards. & I would have put KAT on in the West over DeAndre Jordan.

The All Star game is about the fans & showcasing the Most exciting Talent in the game. I’ll be watching the Futures Game. The main game should be sponsored by Ambien.

I still stand by the belief that you can’t play just 750 minutes and be an all-star. Paul Millsap was with his team for almost exactly twice the minutes Embiid was (over 1400) he has helped his team more.

How many minutes did the guy played back in 2012 just after the lockout?

It’s not a matter of minutes played and should not be. It’s all about stardom and production.

The sixers end up fine with not having to pay Embiid extra money for his extension this summer.

No Hawks player should have been an All Star since Dominque Wilkins except for Dikembe Mutombo.

I have no problem with the Deandre Jordan pick and yes, I know I’m the minority who believe he is deserving. I actually had him an all-star reserve over Gobert but both are definitely deserving.

I leaned towards Jordan because he just does so much for the team. The Clippers are still 4th in the even with Blake and Paul missing a ton of games together. Yea, they started strong, but they were able to hold the fort against some marquee matchups without both Blake and CP and sometimes Reddick in the lineup, and you have to believe DJ is the main reason why.

DJ is lowkey putting up some monster numbers for a great team. Leads the league in rebounds and FGs, and is always, an elite defensive prescence. You just can’t expect the Clippers to play any better when they your best scoring option is Austin Rivers.

I think Damian Lillard is about to go off again after the allstar break after being snubbed for the second year in a row. He’s about to take souls in the 2nd half of the season. Wew.

Whiteside and Towns as well.  I guess the theme is that coaches aren’t attributing that high a value to centers, at least in the east.  After watching Jordan just air ball two free throws, he should be disqualified.  Milsap is a nice undersized 4, but Embiid has better numbers in 10 less minutes a game and means a lot more to his franchise.  Must be a lifetime achievement award

Its got to be Dame.  An All Star apperance is supposed to be an individual accolade, and no one in the last 30 years averaging 26 PPG 5.5 APG and 4.5 RPG has not received the nod.  This goes without mentioning his career high 44% FG (on nearly 20 shots a game, same % as Harden) , his 90% FT, or his impressively low 2.7 turnovers per game for a guy who handles the ball as much as he does.  I know his team has underachieved, but its not like they’re in the cellar either.  Portland currently sits at 9th in the difficult West, 1 game out of a playoff spot.  Snubbed yet again

teams r allowed to carry 15 players..so why not expand the all star roster to 15?

I just don’t see how this idea would work. Teams are allowed to carry 15 but only allowed to actually suit up 12. So would you have 3 players on each team in suits on the bench or have the coachea try to actually juggle playing time with a full 15 man roster?

There are a lot of deserving players that got left out this year, but in the past we have seen plenty of less than deserving players get selected (Jamaal maagliore, mehmet okur, bj Armstrong etc.) Expanding to 15 player rosters would significantly cheapen the accomplishment of being selected as an all-star in the first place.

The only legitimate snub IMO was DeAndre getting in over Gobert.

In my opinion this is like the instant replay rule. You cant overrule a call on the floor unless you are 100% positive the call needs.to be ovverruled. You cant take Jordan out and replace him with Gobert unless Rudy was clearly better. Although arguements could be made for Gobert and he is playing like a DPOY candidate Jordan is still doing what he has been doing for the Clippers and hasnt fallen off. If you replace Gobert with Jordan the Jazz dont lose on that deal. Quite frankly I would prefer to have Jordan.

Nobody thinks Marc Gasol could be classified as a snub?
