Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantSo I was doing the all-star game voting, I obviously voted for Kobe Bryant at guard, then Pau Gasol at forward, as I was looking at the centers, nobody stood out so I voted for Andrew Bynum, then I looked at my lineup and I chose Durant and CP3 after that, then I realized.. I am starting 3 Lakers for the western all-stars.. Who are you guys voting for?
I had Howard, J. Smith, James, Wade, Rose as my east all stars

T-Wolvesfan13ParticipantWhy did you vote Bynum? He has yet to play a min. Should have voted for Darko!

mikeyvthedonParticipantEast: Shaquille O’Neal, Chris Bosh, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose
West: Yao Ming, LaMarcus Aldridge, Kevin Love, Kobe Bryant, Aaron Brooks
That was this one time, but I am sure I will switch it up, but those are some of my favorite players, which is who I vote for. I mean, call me a fan who is ruining balloting, but I think a lot worse people have made the team due to popularity than these folks (and some of them have a snowballs chance in hell of making it through votes anyway). One thing I was super disappointed to hear was that Paul Millsap did not even make the ballot. Every year there is something involved with that, but this is a major screw-up. I know I will be voting for Millsap a couple times more than likely, not just to make up for the fact that he is not on the ballot, but because he truly deserves it.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYao can only play 24 minutes a game, I highly doubt he’s going to play in the All-Star game, that’s the reason I didn’t vote for him. I should have put in the a "write in" vote and voted for Darko.

llperezi voted for kobe, cp3, durant, pau, yao for the west and wade, rose, lebron, pierce, dwight for the east. BUt the west center position is pretty whack. Maybe yao doesnt play in it since he is limited this year and pau slides over to the center and they add another forward like dirk or melo.

mikeyvthedonParticipantBut, last year, I do not know if you know this, but the East won the All-Star Game. There three leading scorers? Chris Bosh, LeBron James and game MVP Dwyane Wade. Worked for me. Plus, still do not actually think Chris Bosh will start, but I would not be incredibly surprised if he makes the team.

mikeyvthedonParticipantI know Dwight Howard will start, but Shaq in 2008 was awesome! What a game, I thought he and Kobe sharing the MVP was cool. I honestly do not care who starts the game, because it will always be a popularity contest, and sometimes if starters do not really deserve to be there they barely play anyway. But at least there will not be some scenario where like Iverson or T-Mac might start when they are not even playing whatsoever (and were both possibly healthy). As long as the guy has All-Star or had All-Star capability, than that is fine. There will always be snubs during these games, but we want to see the best players play in it, and usually except for a couple exceptions, we do. Fan voting in every All-Star game is usually stupid, but they are the ones watching the game and it is a game for them. I mean, you do not always agree with who gets elected to political office, do you? But, it is a vote where the most popular choice wins. That is why I know when I vote (which will not be often), I will vote for my favorite players and not be so rigid about it. That’s the system, and it does not suck as much as people make it out too. I have zero problem with Yao starting the game when he can play less than half of it, because he usually would anyway! Not to mention, to me, he is still better than any Center outside of Dwight Howard. So if I see Yao for 12 minutes in an All-Star game, it’s cool with me. Gives someone else more of a chance to shine.

HitsterParticipantWe can probably guess pretty well who the fans will vote for to start, I’d say out East that D-Wade,LeBron and Dwight Howard are locks to start with the other forward position being between KG and STAT. I’d say STAT may edge it as he will provide better current production than KG and being in the mass NY market will do him no harm. The other guard spot will probably come down to Rondo or D-Rose, I’d favour Rondo as Boston surely merit some starting representation.
The bench will be pretty much the leading guys from the leading teams with Brandon Jennings and maybe John Wall being notable first time All Stars.
Out West you can pencil Kobe in as one guard with one of CP3, Deron or Nash getting the other starting birth, the forwards are more interesting as you may well have two SF’s in Melo and Kevin Durant competing for the starting roles with Tim Duncan, Dirk Nowitzki and Pau Gasol. On current form I’d vote Durant and Gasol starters but the publicd vote could favour the likes or Dirk or Tim Duncan perhaps.
If Yao is fit then I’d guess he’d be voted the starting C, if not then it would be nice for Camby to finally get an all star game in his 15th season.
