Kinguy11ParticipantWho do you think will make the 2013/14 All Rookie first and second teams this year? Here’s my prediction.
First Team
Trey Burke – Starts and shines for Utah. Proves himself as their PG of the future.
Victor Olapido – High work ethic pays off. He improves his offensive game in the offseason and turns out to be a pleasant surprise for the Magic on the offensive end.
Ben McLemore – Will force defenders to think of somebody other than Cousins when on offence. Will prove himself to be a steal.
Otto Porter – Becomes a solid role players immediately. Flashes of star potential no-one saw coming.
Anthony Bennett – Not what the Cavs hoped for but adequate. It’ll take him a couple of seasons to adapt to the NBA but his ability to score inside and out garners a first team selection.Second Team
CJ McCollum – As he’s very similar to Lillard so he’ll struggle to mesh with him. Plays PG with limited success but still finds ways to score at either guard spot.
Glen Rice Jr – Proves himself to be a building block in the long term for the rebuilding 76ers. Steal in the second round.
Cody Zeller – The Bobcats will stay in the gutter but Zeller turns out be a valuable piece add. Good offensively but very bad defensively.
Mason Plumlee – Plays well at PF and C. A good pick in the late first round for the Nets and could be a starter for a fringe playoff team eventually.
Alex Len – Has a mediocre season with the Suns but shows promise. Great on defence but struggles to score against other NBA big men.ROY: McLemore – Lands in a situation he needs (and I think will) contribute immediately. If Cousins gets his act together they could lead the Kings into the playoffs a few years from now.
A sentence long summary is always good so other people know what you’re thinking, but not necessary.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI think I like MCW more than Rice, Jr. Looks like MCW is going to be Philly’s point guard of the future. Look for him to get minutes and a lot of opportunity.
I like the McLemore pick for ROY since I think he might score the most and hit the most 3’s. But, overall, I think Oladipo will be better. Better on defense but without the 3’s.
Otto Porter is a guy fits in with Washington so I think he can maximize his talents there. I would also think he would play point forward with the second unit. He would be a contender for ROY in my opinion, even if he doesn’t do anything spectacular. Maybe a Derrick McKey type.
I like Kelly Olynyk to put up some decent stats in Boston. I could see him playing in the Rising Stars game. There is a place in this league for bigs who can shoot.

B-ball fanParticipantFirst Team:
Trey Burke: Easy choice. The Jazz got a steal with him. He should be a productive starter immediately.
Victor Oladipo: I worry about floor spacing with him and Harkless on the floor at the same time, but he should get minutes and be a terror in transition. His game translates well to the NBA.
Otto Porter: Should get plenty of playing time and gain respect for his all-around game. Underrated Scorer.
Anthony Bennett: Best scorer in the draft and is playing with an excellent pg in Kyrie Irving. Should get minutes on a young team.
Cody Zeller: NBA ready scorer with a versatile offensive game.
Second Team:
Shane Larkin: In a nice situation in Dallas, can score and make plays for others.
CJ McCollum: Plenty of minutes available for him in Portland, should put up points.
Ben McLemore: I worry that he is in the wrong situation for him to put up numbers, but his talent should shine if he is given minutes.
Sergey Karasev: I hesitate to choose him due to the number of more highly touted young players on the Cavs roster, but he is an NBA ready scorer who should make an impact if he comes over, which I am assuming he will.
Kelly Olynyk: With Garnett gone, there will be plenty of minutes for the Celtics young big men, and they should be more willing to play rookies than in year’s past. Olynyk could be their frontcourt’s top scorer by the year’s end.
ROY: Trey Burke. One of the most NBA ready players in the draft and is in a good situation on a young team he could become the face of.
