kdtriv01ParticipantI Think you have to have James Young in there on the second team or at least 3rd team. He will get plenty of game time in Boston, especially if they trade Rondo.

hbomb3300ParticipantI think it will take him a year or two before he becomes a serious contributer for them.

ChewyParticipantTJ Warren has a chance to jump on one of these teams. He will get chances to play immediately and the Dragic/Bledsoe combo will get him some serious open looks. He may not be ROY potential, but I could easily see him being second team all rookie.

JoeWolf1It’s early, so I don’t think this will be super accurate as free agent aquisitions play a major part in projecting rookie playing time.
1st Team
G – Elfrid Payton – I think he’ll get more PT than Smart, and is more ready than Exum. They cleared the way for a Payton/Oladipo back court by trading Afflalo. Elfrid could probably get 14 ppg 5 apg in 32 minutes…
F – Doug McDermott – Doug’s minutes could drop if a big name FA decides to head to Chicago, but as the Bulls roster stands now, McBuckets could shoot his way to 12 ppg on the low end and 16 on the high end. The Bulls’ system can hide his defensive short comings, and he’s a better athlete than many of the shooters Chi has brought in over the past few years ( Kover, Bellineli).
F – Andrew Wiggins – Deng is most likely singing elsewhere, and as raw as Wiggy is, I think he can top 14 a game as a rookie, and the real kicker will be the fact I think Cleveland can possibly grab an 8 seed.
F – Jabari Parker – Ready made franchise player for a team that can vastly help out a team that struggled to score. Can see him averaging 17-20 for such a bad squad. Think they’ll also win 5-10 more games, though.
F – Julius Randle – I don’t think Randle will completely tear it up, but his rebounding will translate and I could see him pushing a low point double double for LA. 11 ppg 8 rpg sounds about right.
2nd Team
G – Marcus Smart – Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley are still in green, and although I think Smart is ready for NBA play, he’ll be part of a three pronged backcourt at this point. He might be a 25 mpg player next season, but I still think Smart can put up 10 ppg rebound, dish, and steal the ball at a high rate in limited minutes. Rondo leaving down could clear the way for a 1st team swap with Payton.
G/F – Rodney Hood – Hood might have found himself in the best spot for his talents. A team with virtuall no one at the 3 spot, and a team that ranked 25th in the NBA in 3 point percentage. Hood is an older sophomore, and although he’s going to have an adjustment as far as toughness, I think he hit the jackpot as far as early success. I think he could easily shoot his way to 10-12 points per game. His teammate Dante Exum could be in play here too, but I think the combo of Burke, Burks, and Hayward could limit his rookie minutes.
F – Cleanthony Early – Knicks could use help at the 3, and they nabbed a player who can do just that. I could see Early warranting 20-27 mpg and I think he could drop 8-10 ppg 5 rpg and shoot pretty solid percentages for a rookie.
F – Aaron Gordon – He’ll most likely be splitting time with Tobias Harris, and I think Gordon will have a well rounded rookie season. 10 ppg 7 rpg 2 apg with a block and a steal sound about right.
C – Nerlens Noel – Noel is mobile, long and can block shots. I think he’ll lead all rookies in blocked shots, but I don’t think Philly loads him up with minutes, just because he may run into foul trouble, and they won’t want to push his knee in another tanking season. 7 ppg 7 rpg 1.5 bpg seem realistic at this point.

tidhoParticipantYour first team is exacty what I was thinking. The all rookie team is about talent and opportunity. Payton, McDermott, Randle, Wiggins, and Parker were drafted into great opportunities.

benny15ParticipantThis early predictions are usually way off so might as well put some bold predictions that I believe has a legit shot of happening.
1st team
G – Marcus Smart – I’m expecting him to start right away in the back court with rondo, doing what he normally does which is score and d up. Eventualy do think rondo would be dealt which would just give smart more touches on offense. If brad Stevens could make Jordan Crawford look like an adequate starting pg, imagine what he can do with Smart.
C – Nerlens Noel – In a shallow center draft class, Noel will stand out even more. All though Noel might eventually be a 4 in the long term, I think he might have to play the 5 this season with lack of quality big man the spiders have. Noel’s experience last year of traveling with the team and seeing how the nba life is will give him a leg up early in the ROY race and it would be up for the other candidates to catch up.
F – Andrew Wiggins – I don’t think he’ll be the scorer people would want him to be and would say hes not living up to his potential. Despite all that, I expect him to have a good solid season doing a lot of things that across the box score. People are thinking aaron Gordon, but I feel wiggins will be the most similar to the matrix when this season is done.
F – KJ McDaniels – McDefense I believe will be the steal of the draft. He will get a fair shot at starting for the sixes at day 1 and could possibly not give up his spot all season. He fits into their fast system like a glove and like wiggins, will have all around production and numbers. I’m expecting their fast pace to help pad his stats like it did for mcw this past season and would help him get enough votes to make the 1st all rookie team.
F-Javari Parker – this leads little description. He will get a ton of shots and opportunity with the ball to prove that he’ll be their go to guy already. The. Ickes actually scored a ton of points last year without a ton of quality scores on the team, so that offensive tempo would just benefit parkers game.
