LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard have been named to the All-NBA First Team.

Tony Parker, Kevin Love, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook and Andrew Bynum comprise the All-NBA Second Team.

Rajon Rondo, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler and Dirk Nowitzki received All-NBA Third Team honors.

There are 10 teams with representatives on the three teams, with the Wolves (Love) being the only non-playoff team. The Hawks, 76ers, Pacers, Bulls, Grizzlies, Nuggets and Jazz each made the playoffs without a representative. Chicago was tied for the best record in the NBA and did not have an All-NBA representative.

James received 118 out of a possible 120 first team votes, while Durant received 117 first team votes.

Wade finished four points behind Westbrook for the second guard position on the second team.

Who were the two people that thought LeBron wasn’t first team?

I’m surprised that KG was left off, but I guess he didn’t have a spectacular regular season. And Blake Griffin on second team, Tim Duncan on none of them? Guess they didn’t watch any of the Spurs Clips series. No Chicago Bulls on here either, but theres no superstars after Rose who was hurt too much.

No huge beefs on my end. Think that everyone was pretty deserving, glad that Tony Parker at the very least made the 2nd Team. If you would have gone without rigid positions, Kevin Love could have very well been 1st Team instead of Orlando’s public enemy #1.

Just wanted to bring up one thought about Tyson Chandler as a 3rd teamer. I think he was definitely deserving as the league’s third best center this season (well, maybe behind Marc Gasol. Timmy and KG to, if you consider them centers), but was it kind of crazy that Roy Hibbert made the All-Star Game instead of him?

I agree that Indiana was deserving of an ASG rep as they were a great team (thought it should have been Danny Granger), but Tyson just had a great 2011-12 season. Marred by the Knicks underachieving and a poor play-offs, but I feel Chandler has developed into a much better player than I anticipated earlier in his career. Melo seems like a decent 3rd team choice, guess his late season push landed him the spot. Would not fight to hard for LaMarcus Aldridge, but definitely believe he deserved consideration.

I had to look on multiple sites to find out who was the last spot on the 2nd team (Tony Parker). I can’t believe they didn’t put him on the first press release…I’m sure that’s hanging on the Spurs posterboard as motivation.

No huge surprises.  I think some guys other than Dirk could have made the 3rd team.  Luol Deng, LaMarcus Aldridge, Tim Duncan, and Josh Smith could all make a case.

I think that Marc Gasol could have made the 3rd team over Tyson Chandler.  He really helped the Grizzlies while Z Bo was out.  He had some great numbers too with some nice shot blocking stats.

The Knicks DID NOT deserve to have two players make all-NBA third team.  But you can make a case for Tyson Chandler there.

So Tyson Chandler gets voted Defensive Player of the Year but gets left off the first team all-defense.Then he gets third team All-NBA while not making the all-star game during the year.  Has that ever happend?

I will look at the vote tallies to see who came close to making the teams.  You could make a case for Steve Nash but the guard position is loaded.  Heck, even Derrick Rose didn’t make it.  Yeah, he was injured but who was the last MVP not to make an All-NBA team the following year?  … it looks like the last one or two forward spots were the most wide open. With Tyson Chandler over the other centers being the runner-up.

Russell Westbrook might have deserved a spot over Kobe, but I’m kind of a Kobe hater so I digress.

Kobe has now got his 10th All NBA First Team to tie with a load of other superstars and is now only one behind Kareem’s record.
