Will be interesting to see how the whole season pans out, LBJ’s scoring is down a bit but he’ll be there or there abouts for All First Team and the Cavs will need some respresentation if they are near the top of the standings.

DeRozan will be pushing CP3 for spot in 2nd team if he keeps on scoring the rate he is going.

Giannis is also putting up some amazing numbers and leading his team to victories.

Marc Gasol is also quietly having another very effective season and has added a 3 point dimension to his game.

Oh yeah plenty of people should be in consideration for third team: Blake Griffin (20.7 PPG, 9 RPG, 4.6 APG), Kevin Love (21.4 PPG, 10.3 RPG, 45/42/86), Draymond Green (10.7 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 7.3 APG, 2.2 SPG, 1.5 BPG), Isiah Thomas (26 PPG, 6.1 APG), John Wall (24.1 PPG, 9.8 APG, 2.1 SPG, 46/39/82), Kemba Walker (23.6 PPG, 5 APG, 1.6 SPG), Kyle Lowry, Klay Thompson…there have been alot of impressive seasons out there

It’s amazing that the guys you listed are on the bubble with the type of seasons they are having. You can even make a case to leave Towns off of the third team due to his teams lack of success at this point and if Demars shooting slump continues he could miss it as we’ll with guys like Klay, Thomas, Lilliard and Walker performing the way they are on a nightly basis. I really don’t see Green not making the team though the guy does everything.

Kemba Walker would be a deserving pick after several excellent and consistent seasons but the guard depth is crazy when you consider Klay and Wall who aren’t in the teams listed either.

I find it interesting that there’s only one player from the east in either the second or first team according to ItsVictorOladipo’s post. Just goes to show how much better the west is than the east.

seriously can’t understand why people keeps ranking cousins as the best center in the league and keeps placing him in the 1st team..

someone who averages as a center 46% FG and 3,5 TO in his career and has 33-49 as his best record after 7 seasons, to me that’s not a 1st team player nor the best center in the league..and not even close..

He averages almost 5 three point attempts per game, that’s obviously going to effect his FG%. His TS% this year is 56.3 which is only about 20 points lower than prime Shaq and is about the same as prime Tim Duncan and Hakeem Oajuwon.

He averages 2.8 TOV per game this year (not sure why his career would matter when talking about an All-NBA team) which is on par with Shaq and TD and lower than many of Hakeem’s years. That many turnovers really isn’t that high of an amount for a center with his kind of usage rate.

Yes, his team sucks, but frankly his supporting cast isn’t very good and in the modern NBA a dominant big man can’t take over a game as much as a dominant ball handler at G or wing. Frankly if you are placing a big emphasis on winning, then Gasol and Deandre Jordan are the only reasonable choices (or maybe Drummond), but Gasol is also shooting 46% from the field, Jordan has no real offensive game besides dunking. Cousins, KAT and Whiteside are all on garbage teams.

in cousins’s case it’s not about averaging 5 3’s a game, he started to shoot triples last year and his FG% before 2015/2016 was also 46%…actually his rookie and sophmore season averaged 44%..

and about TS%, numbers are like reality, depending how you look at them you’ll see one thing or another.. …ricky rubio last year had a 53% TS%……………

to me it’s clear you can’t base a player value on numbers and the clearest case is kevin love, a player with similar game, numbers and career (in minnesota) as demarcus cousins. love while playing in minnesota was putting up massive numbers but without making the playoffs in 6 years, just like cousins, and was a 2nd all team..but his numbers dropped drastically once in cleveland and he hasn’t even been named all-star yet…

to me, marc gasol is the best center in the league and is carrying a team full of injuries to the playoffs while being surrounded by players like andrew harrison, troy daniels, tony allen or jamychal green..so the supporting cast it’s not an excuse..last year sacramento had a very decent team wth a re-born rondo and very solid players like gay, collison, stein, koufos, casspi or belinelli..

gasol is shooting a 46% because this is his first year shooting 3’s…last year he already dropped his FG% because he started shooting a step inside the arc but he’s adjusting to the distance. in his last 10 games he’s averaging 51,7% while shooting 4 triples a game and scoring 23,5 ppg. and winning games..

and to me aside from gasol, i consder better centers than cousins, gobert my candidate for DPY and the anchor of the best defensive team in the league while winning games with a team full of injuries; whiteside whom last year was already vital for the heats to make the playoffs putting massive numbers after losing bosh. once whiteside got injured against toronto in conference semifinal, the heats were done..; drummond, a double double machine that is just scracthing the surface and already made the playoffs last year and is following the same path this one..; and of course KAT, i don’t think there’s much discussion on this one..
