A few things should probably be mentioned. Abrines signed a four-year deal with FC Barcelona. They have soccer money, and aren’t going to simply jump at a buyout if they think he can help them. Even if he enters the 2013 Draft, he might not really want to come over for a few years and could do so to manipulate the process to land in a spot where he may want to go (which is what Mirotic did). Beyond that, history shows that NBA scouts place much lower value in low performing guards and wings from abroad than big men. He is going to a team where he isn’t going to play much. He came off a year where he shot 38.7 percent from the field, 28.2 percent from 3, and averaged 4.8 points per game in 16 minutes. This includes the one game where he was playing out of him mind where he was 6-12 from three and had 31 points, so that speaks to the rest of his season. He is going to a better club, and even if NBA scouts like him now it has little to do with how they feel after not seeing him play much this coming season.

Just in terms of style of play, he reminds me of another Rudy Fernandez with a sweeter looking stroke and a bigger frame.

He’s not better than Saric. I don’t know how anyone could come to that conclusion.

I can understand the concerns about production, but overseas seniority matters, young players arent trusted easily and the minutes are more dispersed.  The intrigue comes from his skillset and feel for the game, both of which are advanced for his age.

Also the main thing is don’t go to bleacher report for reliable or useful information on anything.

Abrines is very itresting kid, defenetly remids on Rudy. Good athletic ability, automatic picture perfect shot of the scren and decent slashing abilitys. To me he looks more polished then Rudy at that age.

Imo about minutes I’m not sure he made good decision siging for Barcelona. In last years Barcelona didn’t give many chances to young kids. M. Gasol had to leave Barca to get PT, while talented Rabaseda sits for years on bench of Barca with no playing time, Nihad Djedovic never got chance to play. And last two seasons Barca signed practicly anything that can walk from Spain, rest of Europe, Africa. There is no way all this kids gets chance and manny will get destroyed. We will see how it will develope for him but Abrines, Hezonja, Spires, Todorovic, Rabaseda got only tiny minutes in firs prep games for season. Well at least Hezonja and Spires will play for Barcelona B in 2nd Spain division while it could be tragic for Abrines, Rabaseda, Todorovic if they will sit on bench full season
