What is the consensus NBA player comparison for this guy? And where do you see his landing spot will be in the 1st round?

I don’t know what it is, but I have this feeling that Detroit may take this guy. I dont know why, but my gut instincts tells me, Pistons will let Rodney Stuckey go, and draft this guy and be their SG, and may try to put Hamilton on the trading block.

His actual scouted comparisons are Eddie Jones and/or Evan Turner. I think the jury is still out on Turner, but if he were to come in and be comparible to Jones, I would take that in a heart beat. Jones’ ability to hit big shots was great. No he was no Kobe or Jordan, but Eddie Jones could shoot the lights out of the ball. He was a stiff defender as well. I think it will be interesting to see if he can carry over his sucess from Colorado to the NBA.

rip has been on the block since last year, tell me a team that wants him and will give up something decent for him. Stuckey was drafted to be the point guard and that failed. they still have ben gordon and drafted terrico white last year so why would they go shooting guard. Pistons will address the center or the point guard position

He is a good all around player and can hit 3’s and defend, his style won’t wow you but he’s just a player and could be one of the best defenders on the perimeter one day, he will be a very solid starter at the least and could actually surpass expectations for him one day…I think the Wizards draft him and let Young walk or find a suitable sign and trade location for him…With Wall and Burks on the wing they’d have a long and athletic backcourt with great defense and unselfishness…

If only Burks played good defense. Wall isn’t a good defender yet either. I think that could work down the line, but one (or both) of them would have to defend and shoot it alot better.

Burks is hard to find a comparison for, but he’s a good ball-handler/shot creator and scorer who’s silky smooth and long. Also an underrated passer. He’s not a 3-point shooter or a shooter in general really, but his mid-range has promise. He’ll be a threat to get to the foul line. Needs to work on D, as he’s a bit uninspired on that end on and off the ball. But he has as big an upside as anyone in the class. And he’s a late bloomer who’s worked his butt off over the past 3 years or so to get where he is.

I think Pheonix would be his best fit, I don’t think he’s very NBA ready to be honest, but in Gentry’s system where they get in transition so much I think that would be not only his best chance at early playing time, but a system to help utilize his biggest asset, which IMO, is his length and ability in transition.  People have the idea of him being able to play some PG and it’s not because he has natural point guard insticts, but it’s because of his passing, decision making and finishing ability on the break.

    My comparison is Desmond Mason

Burks to me is a guy with big time player potential, i compare him to Latrell Spreewell, Burks like Spreewell has the all around skills, the unice aggresive offensive game, also Spreewell until Lebron was maybe the best open floor player that i saw and i feel Burks is also a great open floor player, i think Burks with refining his game, with working on his long ball shooting and defense has potential to be a superb player like Spreewell, i’ll take him top 3 in the draft!

I’d like to see him end up in Charlotte, Mike could help develop him given he actually plays the same position (unlike Kwame) and I really think he could be a big-time scorer in this league. Jackson could also help him along as a playmaking 2-guard, and Henderson doesn’t seem locked in as their SG to me, and Burks has a higher ceiling.

Burks would be best suited to be taken by a winning team that won’t require him to contribute right away. He has a decent game right now but if he is brought along in the right situation he could be a good second or third option. He has decent athleticism and has a great mid range game. He finishes at the hoop pretty well and his slashing ability allows him to find open teammates. A good ball handler with playmaking ability. I don’t think he is a point guard at all but more of a playmaking two ala Jamal Crawford. I think Crawford is his ceiling wheras his floor is Joe Forte. I think he’s closer to the latter though.
