Al Faroq Aminu...
has been really unimpressive in the game versus the United States. I knew he was good at Wake Forest, but I stopped following him after he got drafted by the Clippers. He was involved in the trade for Chris Paul. Doug Collins has been really critical of Aminu. He's still young, but looks like he has a lot of work to do to be able to contribute for the Hornets this year. Ike Diogu on the other hand is beasting and playing with a lot of swagger.
Do you really need to start a new thread for every thought that comes to your mind? Sorry man, I know times are slow, but you seemed to be contributing on the other thread, this deserved its own section? I like Al-Farouq Aminu, but he is kind of a tweener. Not to mention, he is going up against LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony. Not exactly an ideal scenario to shine. Diogu is a fantastic low post scorer and can indeed beast smaller opponents. His issue seems to be defense, as seen by the USA scoring at will (not entirely his fault, just know he is not helping much). So, just a thought man. You make some good posts, just maybe not every thought needs to turn into a thread that drowns the main page content.
What makes you so high and mighty that you think you can just tell every single person when or what to post?? Its not the fact that you act like you are an actual scout, it is the fact that you are disrespectful to anyones opinion and act like your opinion is automatically the right opinion. You try to be just by being just by being the furthest thing from it. You are cocky and arrogant. You are not a scout, you are an internet bully. Congrats.
I think you should take a major look in the mirror. I can admit to being wrong. I do not "act like a scout", I just give my opinion and try to provide research. You can agree with it, or not. One thing I do not have to do is agree with everything someone says or hold back when I feel I have something valid to say. If that offends you, I apologize.
One thing I try incredibly hard not to resort to is name calling or racism. Even if I feel a person is being racist. I see I can not say the same for you. I made a suggestion to UNCbasketballbum. Just something I have noticed for a while and kind of had been wearing on me. I do not think I am alone. When people make a lot of threads about the same thing, it can drown out content.
I would rather have a good long thread than have one started every time someone has something to say about something that a group of people are talking about in one topic. If suggesting this is internet bullying, I apologize. Definitely do not think it does, think internet bullying is calling people racial epithets. It is difficult for me to bite my tongue at times, though I feel my intentions are to make this board as high quality as it can be. I have found people are receptive to my suggestions and I am receptive to theirs.
Would like you to apologize to Aamir, because what you said is unacceptable and not funny in the least. I dislike bullying, cyber or otherwise. It is not my intention to do so, but to call someone a name like you did, no matter how much you dislike them, is what I define as internet bullying. Sorry if it is hard to take your call out seriously, have a feeling you have no idea my thoughts or intentions, not to mention do not read my posts or debates.
Seriously GTFO AfricanBaller. I agree with Mikey, UNCbasketballbum tends to make a lot of threads, but I didn't say anything because most of them are good (but that US needing a 3 point shooter one was awful). You're just a troll and a dumbass who never brings anything of value to the table.
Don't take this as we don't want you to start threads, because we do. I like a lot of your ideas and it seems like your the only one trying to spark some forum activity in this dead time of Summer. Just tone it down a little bit with some of the things that could fit in another thread.
UNCbasketballbum, I have no issue with you man. Just kind of think that you can tone down posting everything that comes to your mind. You are not the first person to do this, just know that it can get tedious, lead to backlash and can drown out content/take from other similar posts that could become really solid. Just found it strange that you made two new posts that could have been incredibly relevant in the Nigeria vs. USA topic you were posting in.
Not to mention, that USA needs 3 point shooter thread was a little much. I am cool with you as a poster and I hope there were no hard feelings. Just kind of made a suggestion that I guess was seen as bullying (though I felt it was not really aggressive). I know people usually do not like being told what to do, but I really left it up to you whether you wanted to take it or not. Just feel it might help you and make the board even better.
No Mikey you are not alone, you have the biggest homer with you as well, Y2G, who is desperately in need of a friend, even if he can only find one on the internet. But I am pretty sure no one else appreciates you telling someone when or when not to post. How smug are you? Do you happen to enjoy the smell your own farts? Do you happen to talk with you eyes half closed? You should probably take a vacation to San Francisco to live with Amir and you can all passive-agressively sit in a drum circle and pass the smell of your own farts.
Man I'd love to hear the reasoning behind any of the nonsense you just posted. Just throwing out outlandish crap doesn't make it true.
I watch South Park, dude. I know what he is trying to say. Have no idea where this pent up frustration is coming from, but I see you are obviously distressed. I do not feel anything I said was attacking or bullying, just was making a suggestion from a trend I had noticed. Obviously, African Baller is doing the same thing in a much more belligerent manner. The hippy drum circle was a different episode, both hilarious, both not things I pride myself on doing. Still, nice to have George Clooney's acceptance speech try to call out San Francisco.
Why the sudden blow up on Aamir though? Does that not make you an internet bully? We know Aamir is a kid in high school (at least he seems to be and I believe he is). We know he claims to be of Indian origin as well (again something I believe). Your use of racial epithets was incredibly offensive and cruel. Why the need for that? You can call me a Nazi (incredibly appropriate, as I am Jewish), just know that your attack on Aamir was completely uncalled for and one of the worst comments I have seen on this site.
If you tell me how I am bullying someone by suggesting something, than I am all ears. Am willing to try to change. Just know that I am not alone and that I felt it was constructive criticism that I felt could be used to make the board stronger. First though, it would be nice if you could explain why you feel the need to call me out as a bully when you just slandered a poster with rather disgusting racial epithets. Hope you have your wine glass ready and eyes closed when you type.
I am pretty sure that UNC f ucking gets it. You guys said the exact same thing 4 f ucking times. Chill the hell out NO ONE cares what you guys think is a worthy enough post for an internet forum.
You are the NBAdraft.net forum Nazi.
He's very talented and athletic he just has to decide if he's going to be a 3 or a 4 as he has the size to play both positions
Gosh you guys are sensitive..
UNC Basketball does create a lot of threads, but 90% of them are nice and insightfull, Please comtinue to post these, maybe introduce a topic that would encourage more critical thinking but I'm glad someone is making an effort to contribute to the form, and it really is difficult to think of a topic to post on, especially during what is the quitetest time in the NBA calender.
igetbuckets99, i'm glad that somebody has stayed on-topic here.
I thought in his rookie season when given starting minutes for the weaker Clippers that he was a capable player, for the Hornets last season, he was very inconsistent but the minutes he was getting really did fluctuate:
Season minute overview:
Minute low: three minutes vs T'Wolves
Minute high: forty-four minutes vs Rockets
He got a lot of run late in the season in March, averaging 30.4mpg which is a little bit skewed thanks to the eight minute game he played against the Nuggets, in consistent minutes, Aminu showed that he is a low double digit scorer, that'll grab a high amount of single digit rebounds which is impressive for a small forward and can chip in with a couple of steals.
It seems that he'll be the starter which should aid his development because he's currently twenty-one and he will be twenty-two in the next month, he should be a great compliment to the jump shooting Ryan Anderson on the front-line.
Based on what's been stated in this post, his season averages should be: 10-12ppg 6-8rpg 1-2spg.
That is, if the Hornets keep faith in him, which they should keep faith because in March, with Aminu playing consistent minutes, the Hornets were 8-6.
Someone has to create a thread whether it was LeBron joining the Heat or who picked on Leroy Jenkins in Summer School.
So what if UNC does this, he's a good poster and raises valid points whilst MikeyV and Y2G are two of the most experienced and knowledgable posters on here. I for one look to see if they have posted on a topic as their views along with a couple of the other site heavyweights such as Indyball for example are always worth looking at and considering.
I wish more people who start threads but only raising valid points not those stupid trades which some people love to post. If a valid point is raised then the site heavyweights can have their say and a good topic gets going.
Anyway back to Aminu, I didn't see the game as I was celebrating UK success in the cycling and watching Phelps get meal number 20. He has only had two years in the NBA, so to judge where he is now is hard especially as he was traded to NOH and had no real time to gel with his new team mates last season.
With Ariza having moved on, he should see more playing minutes and be able to stake a claim for the SF starter role. I would assume that Coach Williams will look to make use of his length and try to make him a defensive specialist SF, his offensive game whilst not being neglected, may not be considered so important as NOH will have scoring options in Gordon, Rivers, Davis and Anderson going forward. I would asume that NOH would look to try and make Aminu into a shutdown defender at SF and then they have great size at 3 and 4 with him and Davis long term.
I am not telling when to post, or what to post. Just know that when their is already a relative post, it usually is better to add to that content rather than make new ones about the same relative thing. A lot of people rush to be the first to post something and than create multiple posts on the same subject. It happens. Still, was just making a suggestion. Better than negging a person and moving on without giving them any possible constructive feedback. If people are offended by this, my bad.
Realize that criticism can be hard to take or that it can seem like coming down on someone. Also realize that by giving it, I get about as many enemies as friends. If one realizes I am trying to do it out of helping this board and maybe their content improve, than usually we come to a relative understanding. If not, than I get people calling me names and telling me to f*ck off. The choice is theirs, just like they can choose what they would like to post. Would like to hear UNCbasketballbum's thoughts on this. Apologies if I offended him, just know it was not done to be malicious. Just was a suggestion, from one poster to another.
No no, I'm with you and Y2G. Agreed with everything you guys have said. UNCbasketballbum, this is just a comment for improvement on the posts. The site needs a forum starter. It used to be the artist formerly known as Memphis_tyga until he went all coocoo for CoCo puffs and changed his name and said I'm done with this site but came back a couple of days later (lol, something along the lines of that). TOL-23 is another topic starter. Aamir too. And many others. But MikeyV is correct when he said that he wants some more comment. I mean, I can always tell when its a UNCbasketballbum thread. For example, these are all made up threads but this seems to be your common format.
Title: LeBron James...
Content: This guys is special. At 6'8", 265 lbs, there aren't many players who have the grace this guy does. His passing is phenomenal and his jumper looks improved. He looks like he will win MVP again this year.
or another example:
Title: The Boston Celtics...
Content: Many people think they are too old but they still have the Big 3. That should be enough to make some noise in the East this year. Plus, Rajon Rondo will run the show for them and Doc Rivers is a great coach.
Content: Their chicken sandwiches are just so delicious. 2 pickles and a buttered bun makes it even better. They recently said some controversial statements but I think they still have great food.
Okay, the last one was extreme but you get my point. MikeyV isn't being offensive. He's just trying to help a fellow user out. If he didn't like you, he would have massacred you verbally a long time ago.
^Those are great, but I find that rathe than asking questions, a write-up of what you think will transpire in the playoffs, or how this free agency has changed the league's landscape, or a season outlook for the Bobcats. Those require a lot more thought, but I find that threads like that result in more in depth responses. And also you have to give some love to Memphis Madness, dude has improved alot, his threads are much better and very insightful.
How smug are you? Do you happen to enjoy the smell your own farts? Do you happen to talk with you eyes half closed? You should probably take a vacation to San Francisco to live with Amir and you can all passive-agressively sit in a drum circle and pass the smell of your own farts. - African Baller
Add this to the list of "All-time NBAdraft WTF Did He Just Say?" Quotes.... I could not stop laughing when I was reading this while taking a dump before class. Ohhh man, I love this site.
I don't really mind it, but I can understand where mikeyvthedon and Y2G are coming from. They're not coming from a negative place.
UNCbasketballbum has become a good contributor to the site and has done it in somewhat of a short time. Keep up the good work. I'm sure he won't take this as negative or some sort of shot at him.
This is exactly where I'm coming from. He's a good poster, just giving him some constructive criticism to be even better. I don't mean it in a bad way at all.
Aminu is a very good defender, he needs to work on his jump-shot though.....
Thank you for the input Rotela. We all appreciate the obvious. But the fact of the matter is that I want to apologize to Amir. I am sorry Amir. No hard feelings. I am not really racist against Indian people, I am just biased against them...
