I know the season is young, but any teams you think should already be looking to make adjustments?

I ask this because I really don’t like what I am seeing from my Indiana Pacers, I understand that PG13 is coming off an injury likely to take half the season to truly get comfortable again and also a bunch of new pieces in the team, but this CJ Miles at PF is kinda insane IMO. He is not consistent enough to make teams pay and we get killed on the defensive/rebounding size.

My adjustment is changing Miles with Myles, I think a front line of George, Turner and Mahinmi has nice potential to it. I understand everyone views him as a C, but is is more athletic than people give him credit for and he doesn’t need to play 30mpg just because he is starting.
He still allows Indiana to space the floor as he has shown a nice ability to shoot mid-range jumpers still allowing Mahinmi to play in the post. The added size will no doubt help with the rebounding and defensively he has already shown a nice ability to block shots.
I look at Porzingis in NY and don’t see why he can’t be used the same way.

    C. Mahinmi
    PF. Turner
    SF. George
    SG. Ellis
    PG. Hill
Stuckey and Miles can be the main guys of the bench as a 1-2 punch and then you still have Hill/Allen as bigs with Budinger and Solo able to play SG/SF/PF depending on how the teams wants to play.

I think Boston needs to start thinking about switching up their starting lineup.  David Lee and Tyler Zeller have not been good starting at the 4 and 5.  Starting Amir Johnson and Olynyk is something Brad Stevens might have to look at.  The problem is the starting lineup of Smart/Bradley/Crowder/Lee/Zeller just can’t seem to score the ball.  I’d prefer to keep IT coming off the bench as the 6th man so adding Olynyk to spread the floor could help the starting unit attack the basket. Amir would be the defensive anchor while making up for KO’s weaknesses on defense.

calling it now, they’re tanking.  can people rip them apart like they rip on Philly.

also, Kobe is pathetic shooting those outside 3s.  He demands the ball, thinks he is some great shooter, and is 5/25 from the 3pt line.

He’s super intelligent and can hit mid range shots, but his body and explosiveness just isn’t there.  He’s done.

season LONG before Kobe tore up his shoulder & in many games late last year they sat Jeremy Lin b/c they were "tanking" & that’s fine, go ahead & tank – but don’t talk out both sides of your mouth & rip teams for tanking & then go out & do the same thing…

There’s a difference between straight up "tanking" like the sixers and just not being good enough to consistently win games like the Lakers. The sixers goal for the past 3 seasons has basically been to just put a team on the floor that would be bad enough to get as high of a draft pick as possible. They have made no efforts to get better through trades or free agency and have deliberately traded guys who were productive for the sole purpose of getting worse.

The Lakers have made efforts to improve their team and go after free agents the past few seasons but they just haven’t panned out. They are going into the season with the intention of trying to win as many games as possible but just don’t have the roster to win that many right now. They only really "tanked" last season after it became clear that they had no chance of making the playoffs.

& Santa Clause too? – If a team can get the right player it changes their entire franchise – the NBA is BIG business & if you think all these teams wouldn’t cut each other’s throat to get the best players you are kidding yourself…

Tanking is tanking – whether you purposely don’t sign any players or fake injuries or just flat out sit them so u can lose & it’s been going on forever in All sports & there’s nothing wrong w/ it… We’re not in church here – you base your opinion on what some talking head on the radio says or b/c you just like one team better than the other…

Phila tendered an offer to Jimmy Butler for MAX dollars this past summer & the Bulls quickly gave him the max – does that make Phila ok w/ you now?

the Knicks & Lakers sat or dumped good NBA players last year so they could lose & No one had any porblem w/ it – myself included… now we’re gonna make rules on what way is the "Right" way to tank???

Like I said, the difference between philly and those other teams is that philly is intentionally going into every season with the intention of being as bad as possible. The other teams are at least going into the season with the intention of winning as many games as possible. They may have sat guys or shut them down later in the season because it just made sense to do so. At least teams like the Knicks and Lakers are trying to put a competitive team on the floor even if it doesn’t work out. The sixers are not even trying.

If the Lakers were purposely trying to tank they wouldn’t have picked up hibbert or spent money on quality role players like Lou Williams or Brandon Bass this offseason.

& they actually Had viable NBA players but they either dumped them or just flat out sat them so they could lose games (just like San Antonie back in 97 to get a shot at Duncan)…

The ONLY reason L.A. & N.Y. didn;t tank their brains out again this year is b/c Neither has a 1st round draft pick b/c their GM’s were So bad they game those picks away… so they both signed a handful of average (at best) NBA players so the fans wouldn’t burn the arena down.,..

Both teams would be tanking if they had a 1st round pick b/c that’s how you rebuild an organization,… Golden State tanked like crazy, Utah traded top 10 (at the time) NBA player Deron Williams & let Al Jefferson & Paul Milsap just walk away so they could Tank – Milwaukee has One winning season in 12 years – Both Minnesota & Sacramento will complete their 10th consecutive losing season….

I could go on & on… like the post above said "What is the obession w/ Phila?" they were just One win away from meeting Miami & Lebron in the Eastern Conference Finals 3 & 1/2 years ago in the 2012 Eastern Conf Semi-Finals against Boston… the former GM Doug Collins, pushed ALL his chips in the middle of the table & gambled on Andrew Bynum – they gave up Andre Igudola, Nick Vucevik, Maurice Harkless & their 2015 & 2017 first round picks & got Nothing in return when Bynum crashed & burned… They are in year 3 of a Rebuild where they started w/ No players to trade & 1/2 their first round picks gone…

What should have they done that would make you happy??? sign 3 average plaers like Lou Williams & Robin Lopez so they can win 30 games instead of 20??? I have never seen the press hammer a rebuilding team the way Phila has gotten beat on…

Sacramento just traded away their 2014 Lottery pick from last years Draft for Salary Cap Relief so they could sign team cancer Rajon Rondo – that move was INSANE! they also gave up swap rights for 2016 & 2017 AND their 2018 First round pick to Phila & they got NOTHING in return… Phila just took a couple older player’s salary off their books so they could sign Rondo & Belenelli! Belenelli played for 5 teams in 4 years before the Spurs & shot 41% FG% – this is a team that just completed their NINTH straight losing season – it might have been the Dumbest move in history & not ONE word was said about it in the press!

That is the question here – why is Everyone so enraged w/ Phila but not one word about some of these other perennial losers – should we talk about the Nets??? Sorry to type so much but the other poster asks a great question…

Actually LA keeps its pick this year if its in the top 3 so they do have an incentive to tank. New York loses it pick no matter what.

I’m not saying what philly is doing isn’t smart from an organizational standpoint. They are certainly not the first team to purposely bottom out in order to rebuild, although I’m not sure it has ever been done so blatantly before. I just hate it for the sake of the fans and the overall integrity of the league. It’s not like they have lowered ticket prices or anything. I guess I live under the delusion that organizations should feel obligated to try their hardest to put a good product on the floor for fans that pay good money to watch them play. I also hate the fact that teams get rewarded for purposely being bad but I’m getting a little off topic here so I’ll end it at that.

I said it all summer but Randle and Russell are bench players, sparkplugs.

They’re more concerned with trying to prove the impossible, that DRussell wasn’t a bad pick, rather than trying to win by accepting the obvious.

I agree about the Pacers. Watching Miles trying to defend Favors was a joke. Plus they’re getting spanked on the boards. We need to start Turner.

It’s early, but I don’t really care too much for Budinger. I like S. Hill, but I’d give Robinson those minutes to see how he does.
