In an effort to learn more about the users on this site I have a couple questions for you guys to answer if you care to. Mainly about you guys as basketball players.

    Ok. So…

    Age?

    Height?

    How often do you play?

    Highest level of play?

    Play style?

    Video?

    Regrets? Hopes?

    Mine….

    Age 19, college sophomore
I try to play at least 3 times a week and play every saturday and sunday morning
I played highschool varsity ball as a senior pg. at 5″10. Averaged close to 10 ppg
I go to college at D1 Saint Francis and plan,to try my luck,as a walk on
I am a slasher who I thinl is a flow of the game type of player.

Messing around in the park by myself.. Rim was def shorter than regulation but maybe by a couple inches. I was trying to put a little something on these.

    Age? 24

    Height? 6’0″

How often do you play? Everyday

Highest level of play? Hall of Fame, 2k13

    Play style? I get buckets.

    Video? It’s NSFW

Regrets? Hopes? I regret not pledging to the Krypts earlier in my life. Sadly I was persuaded by the B-b-b-b-bloods, a group of blood donors with a stuttering problem. B-b-b-b-but I found my way and I hope to earn my masters in Kryptology by next fall….and I wanna give Melanie Iglesias the pipe.

    18

    5’7″

    Maybe once a week

I’ve actually never played in an organized league of any kind before. YOu could say playing with black kids and big football players at freshman orientation was my highest level.

Eh, good passes, junk buckets, some mid-range shooting, good post game for a 5’7″ guy

    Video? Nah

Regrets: Never playing rec ball growing up lol

    Height? 5’6 (I was about 5’1 until I was 15 1/2)

How often do you play? Once per year.

Highest level of play? Jr Jazz basketball when I was 13 and lived in Utah. I was kicked out for close-lining a kid and tackling another.

When I tried out for my middle school team in 9th? grade I did nothing good in the tryout except hustle and hit every free throw (about 10 or so).

Play style? Dirty/Making like George Karl and attacking the other teams best player (Jk Karl) If there was anything good about my game was I used to be a decent defender and I was developing an ability to slash but I have a poor work ethic (a high motor and motivation for some reason though, it doesn’t make sense) and eventually medical issues and etc forced me to really not be able to play at a high level.

Video? Still in the process of my 2010 Jr. Jazz highlight video, as soon as I find the point where I actually scored.

Regrets? Hopes? Can you regret not being taller?

      2 things:

      1) “I got kicked out for close-lining a kid” Daaaang! lol

      2) You’re only 16 and you have 2062 points? On 727 posts? Even if you thumb up yourself, thats impressive, and I bet you don’t thumb up yourself

on #2, I don’t +1 myself, I actually prefer to use negatives/positives to see where my knowledge or lack of knowledge lies when talking about the NBA and its’ players. (at least I don’t +1 myself now, probably when I started when I was 14 I did a few times cause of naiveness and immaturity if you click on your points and go to the last page you can see most of your original posts and I noticed a couple times where I had +1’d myself, I find all those posts to be really bad whenever I read my ones from 2011), I assume you said that because it had a +1 already on it? But No that wasn’t me. I prefer to think I’m mature for my age though sometimes I’m still a bit naive. I always hated being the only one with a passion for Sports when I was younger because no one else seemed to have a serious interest in it, that’s why I came here originally (or at least stayed, I originally came when I was looking at where sites had Alec Burks going (Huge Colorado fan and was excited that we finally had a real prospect and a real team for once, we’ve continued to improve ever since as well).

Im 21 years old, and 6-4 no shoes, and i can easily dunk on regulation rims. (thats the most amazing feeling the first time your are able to dunk)

I want to play all the time but when its my season im not allowed to play, but i play in my offseason all the time. But im afraid of contact and injuries so i cant play to seriously mostly shooting and some 1 vs 1 maybe 2 vs 2. As long as it is no rough play im in =)

i play every mon/wed/fri morning at 6:15 am with the adults at my local ymca before work
ive played in leagues, rec as a kid, played on the freshman team, played with many college players from all levels, ran with my schools (college) team
my only regret was the highschool coach being an a****** if we had a different coach i truly believe id be playing for a d3 school right now. and im not being cocky, but ive had many parents’ whose kid was on the actual varsity team telling me if i had made the team id be my schools all-time assist leader.
    oh well, no grudges here.

How often do you play: Used to play almost everyday- now probably twice a month

Highest level of play: High School

Play style: Slasher and Perimeter Defense

    Video: Nope

Regrets: Wish I took ball more seriously when I was in Middle School. That’s when you really solidify your handle and general ball skills. Never had the tightest dribble.

    How often do you play?
Once or twice a week IF I find some people to play with.
Highest level of play: Junior tournaments (15-16 yo)
    Play style
Pass-first PG with solid perimeter defense. Today I discovered I still have a nice post fadeaway jumper.

I decided to focus on my studies. I think I was pretty decent during my younger days. I could have played college basketball in Bolivia (my birthplace). The skill level is rather low there lol

It’s the summer right now, so I play every two days, during the year I play about two times a week and 1 time a week in the winter (cause my university has no fcking basketball court and I have to pay to play).

I’m short but I’m athletic and wiry-strong. I play as something of a combo-guard – I like slashing to the hoop and shooting mid-range jumpers and can occasionally set my teammates up. My three point shot is extremely inconsistent.

I haven’t really played any organized basketball in my life and only started playing around the age of 14. I’m really hoping to make the university team this year (there’s a slim chance, but one can hope).

P.S. On a fun note – my classmate in school actually played on the same team as Sergey Karasev, they’re still pretty close. Maybe I’ll have some inside information on Karasev or the Cavaliers in the future.

P.S. On a fun note – my classmate in school actually played on the same team as Sergey Karasev, they’re still pretty close. Maybe I’ll have some inside information on Karasev or the Cavaliers in the future.

    Age- 31

    Height- 6’2”

How often do you play- Couple times a month

Highest level of play- High school varsity

Play style- Garbage man with a post game. Have a lot of offenisve skill, but I’ve never been a “call for the ball” player. Love offensive rebounding.

Video- I hate the rim, I’m gonna slap the shit out of it….

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_C2EjKtv30I

Regrets- I could have walked on to a couple NAIA schools. Sometimes I regret that, but most of the time not.

Hopes- I think it’d be fun to test myself against some college players again. I could hang in my early-mid 20’s and I think if I started playing more I still could.

I came to collect like crowds collect when I speak, calling collect direct rather than round-a-bout, before I spell it out for you sound it out……-MC Paul Barman, Props

Felt like writing a brief intro rather than have my age, height and start of my next thing be my title 🙂

    Age-29 (I can’t believe it either)

Height-5’8" (without shoes. Not that shoes make me much taller, I am guessing)

How often do you play?-At least three times a week, if not more. In the summer, try to play about 5 times a week. Will go around looking for pick-up games to get into.

Highest level of play-Not very. My HS had no team, played college intramurals (poorly) and have had moments where I almost upset players who are probably twice to three times as athletic as I am. Have just really played/practiced basketball a lot.

Play style-Think most would say "shooter". Stretch the D, can put the ball on the floor, really like setting up my teammates for scores. Some might say "chucker", though I think that is the younger me. Like physical play, rebounding and pride myself on being able to make the tough pass. I sometimes surprise myself with how well I can play, never surprise myself with how much I can suck.

Video-Do not have any, however if someone wants to document me playing, would not be against it. Just have not video taped myself playing, or been good enough to have someone make a mixtape of me, lol.

Regrets-Being a lazy fat @ss. I hated running and my conditioning has pretty much always been poor. Seems like just when I would get over a hump, something would bring me back down. I love basketball, but did not have the discipline to dedicate my body and nutrition to being the best I can be. Mainly because I find a lot of bad food to be f-cking delicious (have actually never been to a Chick-Fil-A, just think this makes my point). Really though, I do not have much regret and feel I have worked hard on my game at the very least.

Hopes-I still love playing and I just try to do my best. Truly would love to have basketball become my occupation in some shape or form, be it scouting, coaching (have experience coaching youth), writing or analyzing. If not, than so be it. Just am very passionate about the game and put a lot of dedication into gaining knowledge of the craft. Lucky enough to have a job that still lets me be an active part of what I tell people is a great basketball community.

How often do you play? Close to everyday

Highest level of play? High school, I don’t have time to play on the team at college

Play style? I’m sort of a mixed bag. I grew up a PG because I was shorter than everyone else so I’m a pass first/set people up kind of player, but I’m also good at shooting and driving and finishing at the rim. I copied a lot of Durant’s moves, especially since I’m long and skinny the same way he is. I also get a lot of steals and blocks, cause I love playing defense. I’m not too athletic though

    Video? None

Regrets? Hopes? Not going to a different high school…..I’m not one to make excuses but my coach ruined me and my friends. Now I’m just trying to get better and more athletic just for myself.
