I know posts like these get negged like crazy and I’ve even been critical on them myself but I don’t care right now cuz I’m a huge rockets fan and they stole a star away from the thunder.

i know it’s way too early to tell and Lamb or the future picks they received could end up being better for the thunder overall, but damn Harden is going to be amazing for the rockets. I’m rly not basing this off his debut either but seriously the guy has legit point guard skills, he’s extremely crafty and smart, he’s very strong and he’s surprisingly athletic. His defense has improved each season too.

he averaged 17 ppg in his third year at 22 years old in 31 mpg off the bench behind two top 5 scorers! Do u guys realize how impressive that rly is and what kind of potential he has going forward with the rockets? He could get 22,5,5 easy this year and I honestly think his ceiling is 26,6,6… He’s rly that good and if you combine that with the minutes he’s gunna get and how young the rest of the team is I don’t think these numbers are out of question at all.

Another thing is his contract. Honestly would u rather have going forward him or Eric Gordon? Joe Johnson is making 20+ mil and Kobe is making what 30 this year? The guy never rly gets hurt he’s young and his potential is crazy. Just bc u gave up draft picks and two shooting guards (none of which u need with all the young players and harden) and u gave him max contract doesn’t mean it can’t be a steal and I rly think it was

26,6,6 is what you would expect from a player making that much. maybe a little better than what you would expect but not that much. It was one game at least wait till december or january to make bold predictions like that.

Or maybe u could actually read what I said. I’m not basing this off of one game. 26,6,6 for a max deal but when u consider Kobe makes nearly twice as much for similar production how r u not getting ur money’s worth? Also with Gordon getting a max deal who I believe isn’t as good and gets hurt all the time how is that not a bargain? And if I wait to see how he does then its not much of a bold prediction is it bc u already know what ur getting from him. All the people who said Anthony Davis could rly score before the season that was bold. But if u wait til he’s averaging 18 a game for a whole month or two to say that than is it bold? Nope

@phila9012  Yeah you’d think so… but look at a guy like Rudy Gay.

The Thunder kept the wrong guy IMO.  Westbrooks trade value is higher, but I firmly believe Harden is the better ball player.  Westbrook relies wayy to much on his athleticism and has a shakey shot.

You pay that money to guys who can carry you to a championship. I don’t think he can put a team on his back and lead them past the other greats in the game to win a title. It will be tough bringing in help for Harden with Lin/Asik contracts($46 mil combined in ’14). Lin sucks and I am a huge Asik fan but no team would ever win with those as your best 3 players. Harden/Lin/Asik – The Big 3? No.
