8 NBA Teams To Scout Giannis Adetokoubo This Saturday

http://www.eurohoops.net/2013/04/flopping/23731

A small gym of 400 seats will be the basketball center of Greece on Saturday. Nea Kifisia hosts Filathlitikos of NBA prospect Giannis Adetocunbo in a second division game. The winner will get promoted to the first division and 8 NBA teams have already sent their representatives in order to scout the 18 year old player.

And to add a little more intrigue to the game, the Pistons will be present and also Zeljko Obradovic with his longtime assistant Dimitris Itoudis will be in the stands. As you may have heard it is rumored in Europe that the legendary Serbian coach may be the new head coach of Detroit, so this is an interesting subplot.

The other seven teams which will be scouting Adetocunbo live in the gym are San Antonio, Atlanta, Miami, Memphis, Utah, Cleveland and Denver.

I see a little Chandler

I see a little Chandler Parsons in Adetokoubo's game. He isn't polished yet, but if he reaches his potential, he could be a nice versatile wing who can defend multiple positions, attack the rim with either hand, shoot from outside, handle the ball a little, and pass well. I wish he could have made the Nike Hoop Summit, because I want to see him face off against tougher competition.

The talent at the Hoop Summit

The talent at the Hoop Summit exceeds that of the Greek A2 division dramatically. Seeing him facing off against future NBA lottery picks would help in evaluating him.

No it does not. It's a bunch

No it does not. It's a bunch of high school kids that would easily get beaten against any good A2 team.

Not if they got enough time

Not if they got enough time to practice. And the talent differential is so huge, that would be pretty quickly. Plus, we would see how Adetokoubo's athleticism and ball handling looked against more athletic and talented opponents if he faced off against Hoop Summit opponents.

The teams at Nike Hoops

The teams at Nike Hoops Summit would lose by 20-30 points against any of the good Greek A2 teams. Stop being totally delusional. You are being absolutely freaking ridiculous to suggest HIGH SCHOOL kids can beat seasoned fully professional players.

If by competition you mean

If by competition you mean effort then yes, but talent no.

I mean the level of the

I mean the level of the players and teams. It is much higher in a good A2 club than it is at Nike Hoops Summit. PLEASE don't be absurd. This is Nike Hoops Summit, where teenage versions of Milan Macvan and Bismark Biyombo can totally DOMINATE.

Nike Hoops Summit is nowhere close to the level of good A2 league teams.

I wish there was more video

I wish there was more video of Giannis, from what I have seen I love the kid and hope the Jazz would be able to get him. Depending on how well he does in front of all these team scouts and vp's could determine how high he gets drafted. I love his handles for his size , his shooting needs a little work but it isn't terrrible, he reminds me alittle of Hayward, good all around player, a player that can create for himself and for his teammates, unselfish, needs to get stronger but is barely 18 yrs old, he could grow and end up 6'10 or taller. He palms the ball like Dr J, has the handles to be able to play point forward, great length, In todays NBA kids are drafted on potential more often than not and this kids shows alot of potential.

His athletisism, build and

His athletisism, build and dribble reminds me of Andre Igoudala, Lebron James, Paul George, and Joe Johnson. I am and not comparing him to those players but he has the name natural height, frame, handsize, athletisism, and dribbling ability to work on becoming a player with a similar skillset to those stars. You wouldn't want any of those players rumning at you full speed on the break with the ball in hand.

Considering the guy

Was born in Nigeria, I guess Stern will allow him to play in NBA despite the fact that he has a Greek passport.

Why all the hype for a future bust???

He is being compared to Andre Iduadola which is an insult to Iggy who is one of the best wings in the entire NBA...Giannis will never be more than a energy F off the bench...Playing Greek "athletes" is always going to make you like a freak athlete as long as you can run amd jump over there they treat you like Lebron...Again if this guy ever starts for an NBA team I'll delete my account...

How could you possibly know he's going to be a bust?

Have you seen him play outside of a couple youtube clips?

Interesting...

I agree with the remaining a skeptic, but that's a lot different then saying you know the guy is going to be bust.

Scare Crow,

I'd hold you to that statement that you will delete your account if he beomes a starter but everyone will forget you made that statement in a yr or two.
It sounds to me that you dislike Euro players, this kid shows alot of potential and whether he is from the USA or someother country doesn't really matter , what matters is his talent, athletic atributes and potential. He sounds like he wants to work on things and a kid with his size/length ,handles, and overall skills has just as much potential of succeeding as anyone else, no matter what country they are from.

It seems that all the

It seems that some of the non-lottery teams were blocked from the game........

Greek A2's Nea Kifisia, hosts of game vs. draft prospect Giannis Adetokunbo, refuse to grant credentials for Spurs/Heat/Hawks/Grizz scouts.

That's a strange development.

That's a strange development. Teams trade up for picks all the time, just because a team has a pick in the 20's now doesn't mean they can't acquire a top 10 pick on draft night. Poor strategy if you ask me.
