•Draft Simmons 1st overall they must draft Simmons they need the consistent play maker more then anything that’s there biggest need

•Trade- Okafor for Bostons 3rd overall 2016 & if they can pull a top 3 Bostons Celtics protected 2017 pick out the deal why not try

•Then draft Dunn or Hield with 3rd pick

•With 24th pick Take Thorn Maker

•With 26th pick it depends on who you took with the 3rd pick if you’ve taken Hield select between Ulis or Payton II and if you’ve taken Dunn go with Timothe Luwawu or Taurean Prince

•Free Agency go after Nick Batum resign Ish Smith maybe throw some money at Kevin Martin or maybe Arron Afflalo

That would be an hell of an up grade for them

The 76ers posts are getting out of hand. But I agree with this.

If it played out almost this exact same way I would not be surprised .

No I agree with you Metta. I don’t want to trade Okafor to Boston unless we get a serious haul of picks and players. I’m talking 2016 3rd pk, next year’s Brooklyn pick plus Marcus Smart.

    Select Ben Simmons #1 overall

Trade Nerlens Noel for Brandon Knight and the 13th overall pick, select the Best Available SG I prefer Malachi Richardson

Use the 24th and 26th picks as trade chips for a veteran SF like Danilo Gallanari

If you cant get a vet with those two late 1st round picks, throw some serious money at Nic Batum to fill the SF role

Than I would make a strong push for Evan Fournier the RFA down in Orlando as my starting SG (Richardson will be a 6th man initially)

    Starting 5

    Pg Knight

    Sg Fournier

    Sf Batum or Gallanari

    Pf Simmons

    C Okafor

    Bench

    Pg Ish Smith

    Sg Richardson and Stauskas

    Sf Covington and Grant

    Pf Saric and Holmes

C Joel Embiid (Fingers crossed he’s a beast)

The 76ers won the #1 Pick and are feeling very pressured to take Ben Simmons #1 overall, no signs of trading the pick either…We have likely made up our minds and are set on taking Ben Simmons over Brandon Ingram…

I still feel like Ingram is a better fit if your keeping every player on the roster…

I am not sure we keep most of our guys at this point, I feel like the only guy deemed untouchable is Okafor, so Noel, Covington and Grant may be gone in favor of Simmons and Saric coming over…

Than we cant trade a 20 and 10 type on a rookie scale while not knowing how Embiid truly is health wise

So adding Ben by default and trading out Noel makes the most sense at this moment in time…

Now Im glad I dont call the shots in Philadelphia because Id draft Ingram and lose my job by keeping the big 4 of Okafor-Noel-Saric-Embiid barring a good offer for Noel

I’d still chase a PG via draft assets in 2017 (Knight or Bledsoe seem very expendable for Phoenix with the 4th pick)

I’d still go after a young SG in Free Agency and my top choice is Evan Fournier for obvious floor spacing reasons

So lets just say Im weighing all options lol

With my strategy we keep our dynamic duo of Simmons and Okafor, we’d trade Phoenix a defensive F/C for an experienced Pg who doesn’t need the ball in his hands, and we add a SG with the 13th pick, Phoenix can draft Murray or Dunn 4th and pair him up with Booker/Noel/Len

Essentially I don’t want to add 2 more rookies so I would be open to trading them in hopes of landing a SF, Batum is the best fit but unavailable via Trade, I want a Sf that can pass, shoot and defend but I cant bank on us signing Batum, hence the trade idea with Denver

So either we trade for Gallanari or sign Batum I would upgrade the Sf spot with a Veteran

Than I believe signing an offensive player like Fournier, who could thrive playing off Simmons and Okafor would be a huge move, he’d be useful as a starter or 6th man IF Richardson pans out…

We keep Okafor, add Knight/Richardson/Batum/Fournier and keep our 24th and 26th picks

Why is it that when imagining the Sixers white board, I think I can still make out “Process”;”Tank”, and the names of Isaiah Canaan, Vasilije Micic, and Furkan Aldemir from the leftover residue? You need to give that thing a good scrubbing.

Anyway, when no one knows whether Joel Embiid can get healthy, stay healthy (remember he played 30 minutes in all of six games in college), or what type of player he will be (he was raw at Kansas and has missed two years), you cannot think Philadelphia is going to trade Jahlil Okafor. Very rarely does a GM open the door so widely to be fired by banking on a big man with such a injury history. Heck, it was the Sixers who did so with Bynum. I would think they would appreciate the fragility of big man body parts.

I get the feeling listening to Brett Browns recent podcast on truehooptv that all things considered they are most excited about Saric. Brown referred to him as a point forward, said he was Ben Simmons with more shotblocking and shooting but less playmaking. Asked for a comparison, he said Lamar Odom or Boris Diaw offensively, and that he wouldnt go less than #3 in this draft.

Trading Okafor for the third pick is absoulely crazy. No player in this draft outside of Ingram or Simmons is a better prospect then Okafor. Not to mention Okafor got nearly 18 ppg and 7-8 rebounds as a 19/20 year old being double teamed with no shooters to kick to and shot 51% from the field. Yes team need says they need a point guard and the current roster said move one of the bigs. I dont think they need to rush it though. Its not like the sixers are a point guard away from contending? They should stand pat on keeping Okafor, making sure Embid can play and stay healthy. Then see what the market looks like at the trade deadline if they feel all those bigs can play together. Anybody watching the Thunder win playing with all those bigs like Ibaka, Adams and Kanter? If they trade Okafor it should be to get maximum value, and I dont believe just the third pick is maximum value.

I agree 100%. No intelligent Bball mind can say Jah is not better than Noel, and not gonna be an All-star. But I think the media (especially Boston media) are the one’s screaming to trade Jah. They want the Sixers to screw this up. There’s so much hatred for Hinkie (jealousy really) around the league and media that they are trying to do everything they can to sabatoge what he started to build.

Hi- I was wondering why trades for Saric aren’t being discussed more?  Seems like Saric for Knight and 13th would be reasonable or Saric and …. (Other late 1st rounders) for Minnesota’s 5th.  Not sure what would need to be added from Philly in that one, but seems like MN might be able to fit Saric in nicely with that lineup?  Thoughts?

I think Saric trade value is hard to be determined. He was a late lottery pick in 2014. Hasnt played in the NBA yet. I think some team would have to really like him to trade for him. Philadelphia also has been waiting two seasons for Saric to come over and Coach Brown seems to be very excited about him. I would say Philly would ask for more then teams would be willing to give up. That is just my guess though

I’ve been kind of surprised in all these 76er posts, nobody has questioned Oak for Boogie Cousins. Maybe some sort of filler on each side who knows, but that seems to be legit. Kings aren’t getting any better in the off season…get rid of a headache and try to start over. Oak is a solid prospect at the same position. I think Boogie would work alright with Noel though…Noel can chase the 4s on defense and Cousins can step out for the 3 now on O. I’ve steadily thought Simmons is a 4 all the way, but he could run 3 with Noel and Cousins…but you would have to have dead eye shooters at the 1 and 2.

Realistically in FA, your only going to get young players or players rehabilitation their careers.

I say offer Beal the max, he’ll only play 60 games a season, but 6er fans are patient with injuries. Fournier gets no max if it were me. I’d offer him 9-11 mil a year and let him play elsewhere. I could see a player like Brandon Jennings signing…doubt he wants to back up Reggie Jackson. Still got some potential in him and had flashes of brilliance. I’d give him a call. I’d offer like 8mil to Waiters just cause he’s hometown…maybe can help the team. Maybe give clarkson a call. I mean you gotta offer durant and all them, but they’re not coming.

I would take take a lineup of Jennings, Beal, Simmons, Noel, and Boogie. Maybe can draft a PG next year…if Thon is that I’ll there at there late pick…I take home. But I imagine he’ll be gone before then. I’d package them for something else or just take BPA for that.

Id draft Ingram whether it be outright no.1 or with a sweetner from the Lakers.

I dont think trading Okafor is wise or required.

Get Saric over asap. He has many of the traits guys are drooling over in Simmons and can shoot better by default. As well as pro experience since his hoop summit days.

    Thats a front court of

C- Okafor – double digit post score/ auto double team

PF -Saric – Playmaking 4 man with range to open post

SF – Ingram- eventual dynamic wing scorer ( we hope)

Not Ideal in terms of shot blocking but all have considerable length and decent mobilty at the forward spots. Id look at guards in free agency, doesnt have to be a all star just some strong presence with a jumper and a bit of IQ but Id probably reach on Wade Baldwin at 26 if nobody slips.

Shroeder the pg in Atlanta is firmly on the Sixers radar. They tried to pick him up in February but were turned down. Noel would get the deal done. Keep Oak. Name one center in the league that has his ball skills and refined post moves. He is only 20!! Plenty of time to develop the weaker areas of his game. The big mistake I fear is trying to set up the whole squad in one off season. We might have an even bigger offseason next year with a deeper draft and free agent pool. Plus we will know more about Embiid.

Plus we will know more about Embiid.
