The 76ers officially have the #1 overall pick

The trade between the 76ers and the Celtics is official. However there is some additional details to the trade not previously mentioned. If the Celtics don't receive the Lakers pick next year they will receive the better of the 76ers and Kings first round picks in 2019. However if either pick is #1 overall the Celtics will receive the other pick. So 2019's picks are #1 protected as well.

Thats great news for the Sixers. Hope Lakers and Kings picks conveys but thats next year. Let's start the development this year. Gonna buy some tix and see what they can do out there. Still need some shooters so hoping they can make some nice selections in the second round or package a couple to move into the late 1st. Nonetheless, good job. I'm still a firm believer of Jackson and I think long term he's going to be a superstar wing, but the analysts are saying Fultz is the man so I won't complain.

Where did you see that? The official releases on NBA.com and the Celtics website makes no mention of the 76ers 2021 pick.

so , what will be the domino

so , what will be the domino too fall.

I wonder if Phoenix has enough assets in young players to get MJohnson to trade out of the 2nd and take Tatum or Smith at 4... they supposedly are as high on Tatum and Jackson as they are on Ball. Phoenix on the other hand wants Ball badly.

I think I would just pick Jackson if I was LA if they are not sold on Ball, but if trading down gets them a lottery talent from last 2 yrs like Bender along with the 4th &32nd, I'm pulling the trigger, taking either Smith,Fox or Tatum at 4 (assuming Jackson is gone at 3) or Jackson. No brainer.

sometimes these obsessions with cetain prospects like Ball can hurt a rebuild, and so it would not surprise me if something like this went down.

The other option would be Phoenix trades up to 3 if Ball is not picked by LA and sends one of either Bender or Chriss & the 32nd to Boston (they don't need both) in exchange for the 3rd (to take Ball) and 2 fillers like Jackson and Mickey along with the 37th.
