The Scare Crow RisesParticipantYes or No?
Can Noel, Embiid and Okafor coexist long term if they all improve and stay healthy?
What is this Team’s ceiling now that they’ve arguably drafted the Top rated Big Man in each of the last 3 Drafts (KAT shot up the draft boards and leap frogged Jahlil late in the year)
If we were to field trade offers for 1 of the Big Guys, what’s out there? Who needs a good young Prospect at C?

Jr. ROXASParticipantWell I hope so. I really don’t like this pick for the Sixers because their wing/backcourt positons are basically EMPTY. They have Wroten and that’s it. They freakin empty at the wings!!! I can’t stand another season for the sixers wherein they started different D-leaguers and second rounders. Mudiay would have been good for them or Hezonja.
I believe Embiid’s injury is not as serious as it seems, because the reports are just so vague about the injury. Of course, as a lot I think already know, Boston is ready to swing a deal for Okafor with the Sixers. I’d be happy with that if the Sixers get a combination of Smart, James Young and future picks along with another asset.

juves4783Participantthe real question is what happens when saric arrives. i’ve heard he’s more of a 4 than a 3.

Reptilian MonkParticipantLooking Forward to the 76ers taking Skal with their top 3 pick next year since he is the "best player available". Embiid, Okafor, Noel, Skal, Saric, they can go Big ball forget all this small ball talk

llperezi could see them all working together if healthy. Depth is never bad either. BUt reality is just waint until we see who is legit before we decide who should stay or go

HitsterParticipantOnce Russell went at 2 then Hinkie had to look to draft option number 2, we had heard he was high on Porzingis or he could have tried to trade down for Herzonja or Mudiay etc.
I’ll be interested to see if all 3 can work as a combo, the wildcard is Embiid we have yet to see him in action due to on going foot injuries but his upside is arguably greatest of the 3 young bigs IMO.
Hinkie will probably get offers for Okafor so he can wait and see what deals he gets offered. Philly also have a stack of cap room so could sign a decent FA or two. They might not get elite level FA’s but they can get good players in who know there is a great young frontcourt there and the FA’s would become immediate senior players and Philly has the money to pay them good salaries.

kobyzParticipantTrading Noel to Boston for Smart or Bradley make sense…

XYRYXParticipantTo me this only makes sense for the Celtics. I’m not convinced Smart is the answer for anyone at the point and Noel just had a really really promising rookie season after tearing his acl and played 75 games averaging more than 30 mpg.
To be honest I wasn’t expecting this from him and to give up on him would be typical for the Sixers but a big mistake in my opinion.
For sure Ainge now wants to unload some of his 10 guards since he missed out on trading up in the draft but if Hinkie really bites for a deal around Smart, Bradley and probably draft picks then no one can help him.

IlladelphParticipantThe 2 ways I see this playing out is if Hinkie trades one of the bigs for some future draft picks. There are a lot of serviceable guards floating around the NBADL, and Europe and he can get these guys for cheap. Hinkie is a draft pick guy, and I think that that if he trades one of the bigs it will be for some future draft picks.
OR, he could wait and see how these guys practice together, and see how Embiid’s foot comes along and then make a trade decision later on in the year. Either way, I think a trade is coming. No way to keep that many elite bigs happy for long. If all three turn out to be healthy, I don’t think any one of them will be happy sitting for long.
I think that this was Philly taking the best player available.

NBAexpert82ParticipantEmbiid is likely going to continue having injury problems and they should stick with Noel and Okafor. I think lots of teams would pay a high price to get Embiid so trading him would probably be their best option.
