Probably the most interesting pick in this years draft is the 76ers 3rd pick. Have seen a lot of different mocks with the 76ers going with Fox, Jackson or Monk at 3. I don’t think any of these players will be the guy they call on at 3 in june. It’s going to be Frank Ntilikina. After watching tape all morning this guy as elite size and finishing ability. He will be able to guard the John Walls and Kyrie Irvings. Also, if you take into account the grasp the Colangelo’s have on international basketball I would be very surprised if he falls past 3.

Phili fans let me know what you think…

Nooooooooooo! I could see them taking Dennis Smith as a surprise pick but if they take the Frenchmen we riot.

European guards have not translated well to the NBA recently. Tony Parker has been the only elite player in that group…Schroeder, Fournier and Dragic are all okay. The Sixers have enough international flavor.

I think with a pick so high you always take the best, most sought-after player, if you don’t really need him just trade down, get the player you want and some additional assets. I think Josh Jackson is thier pick, I’m sure someone would be willing to give up Ntilikina for him and would be happy to throw something in to sweeten the deal.

It’s an interesting thought. It wouldn’t be the first time a mystery foreign guard shot up draft boards before the draft (Dante Exum anyone?). NBA teams are more likely these days to go against popular consensus (Labissiere and Deyonta Davis slipping, Maker at 10) and draft who they want. I don’t think it will happen, but it wouldn’t surprise if it did.

Anyone know what Ntilikina’s contract situation is like? If he has a high buyout he could easily drop out of the top 10. If that happens the Sixer might be able to trade Okafor for him.

Ntilikina should not fall past New York. There is no way he will fall past Dallas, they have scouted him the most and have a French fantasy ala Roddy Beaubois again. Its possible for Philly, he could go 3, but I think itll be between Sacto at 5, Orlando at 6, NY at 8 and Dallas at 9.

Always been a Ntilikina fan but I agree that 3 is a bit of a reach for him when they will likely have Fox and Smith to choose from to potentially mark opposition PGs and Tatum and Jackson are good SF upgrades although Covington has done a decent job there. They have frontcourt players so Isaac wouldn’t jump out at me,

But as always we need to see Simmons playing how they will use him and they have to keep Embeast sound as well,

I don’t really see them looking for extra picks by trading down, Simmons needs to play plus whoever they draft at 3, Embeast has only played 30 odd games, Saric only one NBA season so they havbe a lot of young inexperienced players to gel together already,

I like Ntilikina, he can gaurd 1-3 with his length.  I do agree that 3rd is a little high.  His ball handling is a little loose, reminds me of Dejounte Murray. His first step just isn’t there.  Think Jrue Holiday. Luckily for Frank he is stupid long and can finish over and around defenders. I can see him being a part time PG, fulltime star stopper on D.  I saw that his asst/TO ratio was pretty good at season’s end and he shot 40% from euro three.  To me he looks like a mini Giannis.  Play him, here play him there, just get him on the court. Someone will fall in love with him amd he is one of three players I want with the 3rd pick along with Isaac and Fox.

They need a wing if Simmons will play on ball and set plays, Monk is a better fit since he can score wihtout the ball and stay outside the 3pt shot, the paint is clogged if they pick a prospect  who can’t shoot the 3, but with the versatility of Tatum and Jackson, I think they’ll fit eventually. Fox Monk and Smith is a reach in the top 3 IMO

Why would we ever Risk drafting a potential BUST in the mold of Dante Exum, in fact a stopped trying to spell dudes last name and just call him Franc Exum Jr.

Until one of these hidden gems truly breaks out at PG I’m not sold, how many  Coaches or GM’S have to lose their jobs over bad draft picks (insert ironic Hinkie joke here)

When you have a chance at adding a guy like Jackson at 3 to help defend the Lebron/Durant/Kahwi/PG13/Greek Freak’s of the world, we might have to throw Wiggins in the mix too, maybe Jackson helps make up for "missing out" on Wiggins and being "stuck" with Embiid…

Hell, Malik Monk and Jayson Tatum could be better than Fultz and Jackson and the chances that Fox and Smith are the best 2 guys in the draft is probably even higher (we tend to over think the process and pick who we think will be the best in 5 years when in reality 5 years never happens)

I’d take BPA at 3 unless somebody’s "Balls drop" and daddy Lavar gets the LA shaft much like Jahlil Okafor…If the Celtics and Lakers pass on Jackson and Fultz we take Ball and trade him and his bitch Ass Pops back to Cali, except I’d definitely trade him to the Kings for The 5th and 10th pick, I’m taking Malik Monk 5th and insurance big like Markannen 10th…

HERE IS MY PHILADELPHIA BIG BOARD

    1. FULTZ *Best pure scorer in the Draft, great size for his position, and would absolutely have a chip on his shoulder IF he were to somehow fall to Philadelphia if Boston falls for Jackson and doesn’t want to upset their nucleus of Thomas/Bradley/Smart, Brown is less solidified and George and Hayward would cost 3 times the salary of Josh and Jaylen at the SG/SF spot

    2. JACKSON *clearly the best 2 way prospect and I’ll be surprised if the Lakers or Celtics didn’t take a long look at Brown/Ingram and think, can they play with Josh?

    3. MONK *higher than he should be but he’s probably one of the purest fits in the Top 7, and he’s got a high ceilings if he wants it, I have a good feeling he does

    4. TATUM *can really be the Boom or Bust guy in the Top 10 but I think he’s going to end up being very solid at the SF spot

    5. SMITH JR *Injury concerns keep him lower than he should be

    6. FOX * If not for fit he’d be higher due to his intangibles and will to win and get better, he’s not any where near Westbrook level, but he’s a hungry stat stuffer with elite speed, again he could be the best player in the Draft and we are all just over thinking the process, roll the ball out there and he’s probably gonna do work

    7. BALL *I DO BELIEVE HE’S A GOOD PLAYER, JUST WANT NO PART OF Him AND HIS "BRAND"

    8. MARKANNEN *I Kinda just want some insurance in case Embiid never expels the Injury Demon and Jahlil gets traded for a role player(smh) If only he wanted to be great wherever they choose to play him, namely off the bench

    9. FERGUSON *Don’t know much but I liked his tape, seems like another boom or Bust type but this low on Board (because I only want to draft between 3 and 10 anyway)

    10. LEAF * I like Lauri and TJ way more than the average user, they just play a style I’m sure will translate to being at worst good starter/6th men in the New NBA…

The Ball hate is real. I watch a ton of college basketball and a sh!t ton of PAC 12 basketball. Saw Lonzo in Pullman and in Seattle. This dude is the real deal. I have never seen a better point guard in college. I remember being very impressed by Wall but Ball is better. The way he can see the floor and lead his team is second to none. I recall a play vs my cougs where he caught a skip pass one handed and threw an oop to Leaf all one handed and one motion. Ball is the best pick since embiid.

      About your draft board:

1)Agreed if Futlz slides take him(barring an injury red flag)

2)Jackson good choice if he doesn’t go number 1(he won’t go 2 due to ingram being their guy calling it now as it makes no sense to get him especially if they are also going after P.G)

3)Monk-Disagree he would be a serious reach at 3 especially as I am guessing you could trade down to get him easily…

4)Taytum I see this guy as the legit 3rd pick due to skill set he also makes some sense due to shot abilities, build and I could see him,Embiid and Simmons causing some issues with that length for other teams…Think Danny Granger(prime),Melo or Otto porter as players he could turn into…

5)Smith-Um he is another injury risk player and taking him so high would probably lead to another missing rookie(sorry)

      6) Fox-You guys traded a very similar player in MCW away so taking him at 3 makes very little sense…I also see him ending up in sacramento at 5th pick…

      7) Ball …If you want him making you bench drop more points then I could see him being an alright pick but he probably would be your 6th man at best if B.S is your P.G…Also I don’t know if he really fits in Philly. He suits Sac,Suns,Lakers and maybe Mavericks

8-10 all will be 6 and down picks but I See you logic on those pick

Sixers need a PG who can shoot. Ball and Fultz may be gone. I think it’s finally time for the Sixers to trade for D’Angelo Russell. Probably for the 3rd pick.

     D’Angelo Russell for Philly’s 3rd pick?

Come on man. If Lakers pick Ball or Fultz at 2, they’re admitting that DR isnt in their plans. So no way they get a clean 3 pick for a tainted 2.

But, speaking of tainted picks, sixers have one to offer straight up. Okafur for Russell straight up makes sense for both teams.

They already passed on Okafor. They couldn’t get the Knicks pick with him.
