Screw homework! Here are my 50 semi-bold predictions for the upcoming season (get psyched!)

    50. The Clippers will be competitive…for the 8 seed.

    49. The Suns’ off-season moves will make for Steve Nash’s most frustrating season as a pro.

    48. Daniel Gibson will make himself somewhat relevant again.

    47. Dwight Howard will mature a bit more and not finish among the league leaders in techs.

    46. Mike Conley will finally step his game up.

    45. Elton Brand will become 70% of his former self, which is to say, he’ll have Philly fans ecstatic.

    44. Blair and Splitter will form the best support Duncan has had down low since the Admiral.

    43. The Warriors will improve by at least 5 games in their first year w/o Don Nelson.

    42. Trevor Ariza will be considerably more comfortable in NO than he was in Houston.

    41. Jeff Teague will be playing more minutes than Bibby by game 60.

    40. The Mavs’ $22 million Chandler/Haywood combo will combine for one successful back-to-the-basket post move.

    39. Andray Blatche and Yi Jianlian will combine to allow more points than any PF combo in history.

    38. LeBron can never remember Kenny Hasbrouck’s name and thus avoids him in conversation.

    37. Brandon Bass will be starting for some team come March.

    36. The Cavs will finish 10th in the East.

    35. Jefferson > Boozer.

    34. Rockets faithful will again be devastated by Yao’s injury troubles, although he will be on the court this year.

    33. When he gets pt, Terrence Williams will establish himself as the biggest triple-double threat in the league after LeBron.

    32. The Bulls’ lack of post-scoring in the wake of Boozer’s injury (about 1.5 months worth of game) and variety of jump shooters prevents them from living up to off-season hype.

    31. Corey Maggette is this year’s Jamal Crawford.

    30. Struggling with rumors and in-fighting, the Nuggets are the West team that really disappoints.

    29. Darren Collison will average 19 and 10.

    28. The Chuck Hayes at C phenomenon is replaced with the Kirk Hinrich at SF phenomenon.

    27. Al Horford doesn’t improve on his averages of 14.2-9.9-1.1 and people realize that he isn’t actually an All-Star caliber player.

    26. Peja Stojakovic becomes the most relevant expiring contract come Feb.

    25. A mediocre team will irrationally give up a great young talent for Melo.

    24. The Nuggets will scrounge up a pretty great deal for Melo well before the deadline.

    23. JaVale McGee challenges Dwight for the blocks title, for a little while.

    22. The Cavs will win one game agains the Heat this year.

    21. The Bucks nab the 4 seed over Chicago; if they won 46 games last year, and nearly won a playoff series WITHOUT Bogut (and Redd for that matter) – AND THEN added Maggette and Gooden without losing anyone, they’ll be good for 50-something wins.

    20. The Knicks’ inability to rebound prevents them from making the playoffs.

    19. The Nets’ efficiency on the glass gets them the 8 seed.

    18. Blake Griffin takes home ROY despite Wall’s ‘Zards making the playoffs.

    17. Outside of Griffin and Wall, no rookie makes a real seismic impact.

    16. The Bobcats will be the most disappointing ’10 playoff team; their two best (read: good) players play the same position, and since season’s end they’ve lost Chandler and Felton w/o adding anyone of note.

    15. Anthony Morrow will lead the league in threes made. By 82.

    14. The Magic will be pretty good, but the Heat are gonna be, like, really fucking good.

    13. The Thunder will be as good as advertised…which is to say, as good as a team of 23-year old phenoms can be.

    12. In one of the best league-leader-in-assists races in years, Chris Paul barely nabs the crown.

    11. Kevin Love will lead the league in boards.

    10. The Raps narrowly edge out the T-Wolves for the league’s worst record.

    9. The Heat win 63 games. Not that bold, I guess.

    8. Lakers, Jazz, Thunder, Blazers, Mavericks, Rockets, Spurs, Hornets

    7. Heat, Magic, Celtics Bucks, Hawks, Pacers, Wizards, Nets

    6. Tyreke Evans, whose rookie year numbers were nearly identical to LeBron’s…becomes LeBron James-lite.

    5. Finally playing with a really good PG, Danny Granger finishes 2nd in scoring behind Durant.

    4. Heat over Magic.

    3. Lakers over Jazz.

    2. Lakers over Heat.

    1. After 1,137 wins and 22 winning seasons in 23 years, Jerry Sloan wins his first Coach of the Year award.

Whoops, accidentally left them out. I say the Bucks nab the 4th seed from them, implying that they’ll finish around 5th. Forget to list them as a playoff team near the bottom my bad.

These are very bold predictions and it leave out the fact that if Knicks get Melo, Playoffs are a definite and also Bobcat are not making the playoffs.  They are not good enough and they need to get a top pick soon.

"33. When he gets pt, Terrence Williams will establish himself as the biggest triple-double threat in the league after LeBron. "

I do’t know about that. I’ve still got Chris Paul, Jason Kidd and Kobe Bryant ahead of him.

Very good list though, I like all of the predictions that include the Wizards

I don’t think your #2 prediction is even semi bold.. Lakers could very well be a better team than the heat.

    45. I doubt it.

    41. Duh.

    38. Ditto for Jamal Magloire.

    30. Agreed.

    29. Are you serious? Heck no.

    27. Most over rated player in the league.

    20.  They are getting Melo, so yes they will make the playoffs.

    19. Your sick in your skull.

    18. Agreed.

    17. I whole heartily disagree.

    5. No.

You are "are you serious" to Collison averaging 19 and 10? He averaged 18.8 and 9.1 in 37 games as a starter, and that was as a rookie. He now will not only have complete control of the Pacers offense, but a dynamite wing scorer amongst other weapons.

Ha ha if the Cavs win against the Heat this year it will be like the biggest win in franchise history, which tells you all you need to know about the Cavs.

Also I’m hoping 44 is true.

If that happens Philly is a contender for a top 4 seed in the East….that team is pretty damn loaded and coming off a season 2 years ago where they were the up and coming team in the league….

    46. This is Conley’s year to sh*t or get off the toilet

    40. I think Chandler makes Dallas the only decent contender to the Lakers in the west….
