Reason 1- Jerry Sloan. Only 17 victories away from tying Pat Riley for 3 all time in coaching wins. The 68 yr old has said he intends to be back threw the 2011-12 season. No doubt knows how to coach great players.

Reason 2- Paul Millsap. 25yrs old. 20th in efficiency ahead of players like Kobe and Nash. But his contract is only worth 32 Mill over 4 years. Talk about bargains.

Reason 3- Andrei Kirilenko’s expiring contract worth $17.8 mill. It might not bring the Jazz that far under the cap this summer. But with Memo’s big contract expiring the year after, it gives them huge flexibility.

Reason 4- Al Jefferson. He struggled at times early, but it looks like he’s finally starting to come into his own. He’s moving well, showing he’s a beast down low with an arsenal of post moves. He’s playing pretty good defence too. 1.7 bpg this year tied for a career high. I know some people watched the game against the Magic on the 10th. He and 3 blocks, had 2 steals and held Howard to 5 of 15 shooting with 5 turnovers. I know its only one game but still no doubt an improvement over Memo on D.

Reason 5- top 3 players all are 26 or younger and under contract for atleast 3 more years. Thats 3 years to grow together and build chemistry. Also the Potential of Guys like Hayward and Miles who are only 20 and 23.

Is a Jeff Hornacek type of player to knock down shots and do the little things and they just re-invented what worked for them for many many years.  True, they did not win any championships, but that was just bad timing on their parts (Michael Jeffrey Jordan era).

I dont know if C.J. Miles will ever shoot like Hornacek, but he can score. I’d like to see him play 30 + minutes  a night on a consistant basis and i bet he puts up 15 or more a game.

Right now the word out here in slc is he is 50/50. It all depends on if they get further in the playoffs the next 2 years

I agree with your points, but lets see how the CBA plays out. Teams are going to throw tons of cash his way. It’s easy to say he’ll stay until that cash register starts ringing Or who know maybe he wants to play in a bigger market.

It says 17 but i meant 1. He tied Riley tonight.122 more to pass Lenny Wilkins for 2nd and 125 to pass Don Nelson for first all time.
