New to posting but I thought I’d give a trade proposal:

    3 Team deal
Houston gets: Dwight Howard, Hedo Turkoglu, and Metta World Peace.
Lakers gets: Kevin Martin, Patrick Patterson, Glen Davis, Donata Montejunas
Orlando gets: Pau Gasol, Luis Scola, Kyle Lowry

Houston’s draft ends up making perfect sense their line-up can be:
    PG: Goran Dragic, Shaun Livingston
    SG: Doron Lamb, Courtney Lee
    SF: Terrence Jones, Hedo Turkoglu
PF: Royce White, Marcus Morris, Metta World Peace
    C: Dwight Howard
Waive Brockman, Leur for cap space. That is a young looking nasty team.

Lakers get younger with Patterson/Davis/Montejunas and a 6”7 guard who can still ball with an expiring contract. Re-sign Sessions and let Murphy, Hill, Barnes leave.

    PG: Ramon Sessions, Steve Blake
SG:Kevin Martin, (Kobe getting SG minutes too)
SF: Kobe Bryant, Devin Ebanks, Pattrick Patterson
PF: Big Baby Davis, Montejunas (who has the exact same frame as Pau and looks like his ceiling could be Bargnani)
    C: Andrew Bynum, Josh McRoberts

    Magic let Jameer walk.
    PG: Kyle Lowry, Chris Duhon
    SG: JJ Redick, Quentin Richardson
    SF: Jason Richardson, Earl Clark
    PF: Scola, Ryan Anderson, Nicholson
C: Pau Gasol, Daniel Orton, Justin Harper

I’m sure a few smaller names would have to be added for salaries to work. Maybe some future 2nd round draft picks?

This is a great deal for Houston and Orlando but horrible for Lakers. No way Lakers would give up Gasol and World Peace when the best player they’re getting back is a SG which is what their best player plays. Also the Lakers wouldn’t agree to a trade where Dwight Howard is involved and they don’t end up with Dwight.

Well the Lakers have said they want to dump Metta’s bad contract after dealing with too many headaches. Although I think they should hang onto him as their best perimeter defender. They actually are trading Pau for salary relief (Dumping Metta and adding a big expiring contract in Kevin Martin) plus youth Davis/Patterson are solid PF’s and Montiejunas has been favorably compared to Andreis Bargnani. His weakness in defense/rebounding is complimented perfectly by Bynum. If he lives up to that hype this trade is a steal for the Lakers.

I do see your point about the Lakers not facilitating a deal for Dwight if they don’t end up getting him. Definitely clicking thumps up for that point.

It’s not a terrible deal, but whenever you do a Dwight Howard trade, you have to ask yourself, "Is this a better deal than Brook Lopez, Marshon Brooks, and at least one unprotected pick?"

Gasol Scola and Lowry are all proven vets, all are more than solid starters, but the Magic are looking to rebuild, and although the players going to the Magic in this deal are better than what the Nets could propose, I believe the Magic are looking to start new with younger guys, rather than the cap killing contracts of Gasol or Scola.

The Nets missed their chance to get Dwight when they made the retarded Portland trade, essentially trading the 6th pick for 16 games of Gerald Wallace. Had they kept the 6th pick, they quite possibly could’ve pulled it off, Lopoez, Brooks, the rights to Bojan Bogdanovich, and the 6th pick, quite possibly Harrison Barnes or Andre Drummond.

This isn’t a bad deal, but the Magic would want a deal that gives them cheap young players and picks, allowing them to start fresh but still bounce bakc and become competitive quickly again.

And we are all forgeting Lopez is a free agent. Restricted yes, but it’ll be interesting to see how much he gets, and whether some gutsy team will offer a 20 and 3 center crazy money like 70 million in hopes that the crazy Russian matches because he would hate to lose Lopez without compensation, without realizing you can’t give 15 million a year to a guy that grabs 3 rebounds a game.

To me. Yes I’d definitely rather have Pau, Scola, Lowry then Lopez, Brooks, and a 1st.

Pau is better then Lopez. Scola is more proven then Brooks (plus the Magic have J-Rich and JJ Reddick), and Lowry was playing like an All-Star before his injury. I think Lopez is the next Yao Ming. Foot injuries on guys that are 7ft+ are worse then knee injuries. Every step he takes is a fracture waiting to happen.

    Rockets

    Jeremy Lamb*
Wait, so we pretty much gut out entire roster, receive bad contracts and have to start rookies for Dwight?  What about when he leaves for free-agency, we’re going to be stuck with the terrible contracts of Turk and Metta.  Not only that, we’re left with slim-to-none wiggle room for trades or F/A signings to entice Dwight to stay.  If he didn’t want to play with Turk, Vince Carter and Jameer Nelson what makes you think he’ll want to play with Turk, Terrence Jones and Jeremy Lamb?

So Jeremy Lamb disappears from the roster 2 days after getting drafted by them huh? And Doron Lamb teleports from milwaukee to Houston…? Lakers get a bunch of nothing.. who knows what Donata will turn out to be.. kevin martin on decline …. Orlando gets a C who will be done with ball in less than 5 years.. a backup PG for Jameer and Ryan Anderson’s backup… Houston gets Dwight and 2 terrible contracts whom might i add .. play the same position.. bad trade on all 3 parts to say the least.. good try though
