3 Gators suspended
Florida coach Billy Donovan announced Thursday that transfers Dorian Finney-Smith and Damontre Harris have been suspended, joining senior point guard Scottie Wilbekin on the bench for the No. 10 Gators.
Donovan said the suspensions are indefinite, but sources told ESPN that Wilbekin will likely sit for 3-5 games to start the season, while Finney-Smith and Harris are expected to miss the first two.

Dorian Finney-Smith, who transferred to Florida from Virginia Tech, will likely miss the first two games of the season after being suspended by coach Billy Donovan.
"Well, I mean, you know, it is what it is," Donovan said Thursday. "We just try to go with the guys that we know are going to be available, going to be there to play."
Donovan said all three will continue to practice.
"There's some things that they need to do," Donovan said. "Hopefully, they will do it and we'll see how that translates going forward."
Wilbekin started 29 games at the point last season but will likely be challenged by talented freshman floor leader Kasey Hill, who will almost certainly start while Wilbekin is out of the lineup. Hill could wind up supplanting Wilbekin as the full-time starter.
According to several NBA scouts, the 6-foot-7 Finney-Smith has been as impressive as anyone in practice thus far for the Gators. The former Virginia Tech forward will bring versatility and toughness to the team and could wind up starting once he serves his suspension. Harris transferred from South Carolina and should give Donovan and the Gators length and a shot-blocking presence off the bench.
Florida is one of the deepest teams in the country and should still have enough to compete with No. 20 Wisconsin in Madison on Nov. 12 as part of the ESPN Tip-Off Marathon. The Gators open the season Nov. 8 at home against North Florida and play Arkansas-Little Rock in Gainesville on Nov. 16 in the third game of the season.
