Everyone knows there were plenty of talented guys in the 2010 draft class, but there were guys who ended up in the wrong situations as rookie prospects with their talents to not be used.

    • Avery Bradley- Avery was a guy who was projected as high as #13 or so last year to Toronto……My belief was he would have not been a big difference maker with the Raptors, but he would have got the experience he needed as a rookie, instead of being hid on a deep veteran squad bench like the Celtics. In only 31 games played he only averaged 5.2 mpg, which he would have tripled if he was with Toronto. Even if he was to comeback to school for at least another year, his stock would have soared for him to become Lotto bound this year. For him to "convert" over to PG in the league he is soaking up knowledge, from one of the best to play the position in Rondo, so that is to say it can only make him a better & smarter player in his Soph. season once or if he cracks the rotation. In this upcoming season I don’t look for him to be that scorer he is known for because he has vets on the team like Allen, Garnett, & Pierce. I expect him to work hard on the defensive end to be one of the better defending PG’s around the league. Last year he was very timid playing against other guys when he showed his face in limited action. If he can crack the rotation this year, I can see a solid 8ppg becoming ideal for him, versus the 1.7ppg this past year that’s only if he can stay in the rotation. I really had high hopes for Avery coming into the league, but by him going to Boston, you can only imagine how his career will end up especially when it is a veteran team. I like the fit to Boston, but after I knew & seen for myself that he would not have been played as a rookie, all I could do is say I wish he went to Toronto.

Avery Bradley doesn’t have a set position and that’s what got him buried last season. He couldn’t really work off the ball with Rondo, nor be the lead guard.

Bradley is still several years away from playing serious minutes for the Celtics or any team for that matter. If he was on the Raptors he’d still be stuck behind Calderon, Bayless and to a lesser extent Leandro Barbosa(cause he plays more SG). He would have gotten virtually no minutes on just about any team in the NBA last season……

I think the D-League is a great tool to develop players.  These are some other guys that a lot of people who have forgotten about who actually improved their games and produced well in the D-League.  I look for these players to make more of an impact on NBA rosters next season.  That being said, I don’t feel like any of these players will take the league, by storm, but I think they can play and will only improve in years 2 and 3.

    Luke Babbitt – 20.1 ppg 7.3 rpg 53% fg 38% 3 pt 88% ft

    Craig Brackins – 20.1 ppg 8.6 rpg 1.9 apg

Dominique Jones- 18.7 ppg 5.2 rpg 5 apg

    Cole Aldrich – 10.3 ppg 8.6 rpg 2.6 bpg 80% ft

    Dexter Pittman – 14.5 ppg 8.2 rpg 1.7 bpg

    Devin Ebanks – 16.5 ppg 7.7 rpg 1.5 spg

In addition to Bradley, I could see these players making more of an impact next season.  Especially Pittman, due to the fact Miami has a hand full of 33+ year old big men that will most likely not all be back.  I could see Pittman starting a hand full of games for Miami next season.  Cole Aldich could play a much bigger role with OKC if they choose not to resign Nazr Mohammad and I think LA got a flat out steal in Ebanks, I think he could be a very good defensvie wing.

^^^Yeah that just means Jack would have gotten minutes over him instead of Bayless…….. Bradley’s role wouldn’t have chaged if he was on the Raptors

Bradley could have been sent to the D-League as well if they knew he won’t going to be used.

I might be seeing things differently, but when i saw Cole Aldrich on the floor,he did some positive things..I dont know why they had him in the D-League and on the bench for the entire year..It seems to me,that he wasnt given a chance to prove himself….

He’s a much better low post scorer than Perkins…No way would i start him over Perkins..Becuz Perkins toughness and defense is priceless…But i expect them to give him more time on the court next year…

Aldrich just needs to learn to keep his fouls down.  Although he is a little undersized for his position his rebounding and shot blocking is going to translate because of his 7’4” wingspan.  His fouls 7.7 times per 36 minutes which is way too high, but he also blocks 1.8 shots and grabs 8.9 rebounds.

OKC seemed to shift from favoring Mullins early in the season to Aldrich by the end.  He averaged 12.5 ppg 12.5 rpg and 3.6 blocks in the D-League playoffs, but OKC brought him up to traved with the Thunder as they started their playoff run.  The Thunder are committed to developing him and I think he’ll be a bigger contributer next season.

Once he adjusts a little more, which will only happen with more playing time, I think he’ll be a very good backup to Perkins.  He is a more skilled offensive player than Perkins, but he’s gonna be a 5th option when he’s on the floor, unless Thabo is playing then he’d be the 4th.  I could see him being a 5 pts 6 rb 1.2 block guy next year.

Domonique Jones is another who is in a terrible situation……All these guys on the roster that is ahead of him…..just don’t hope he ends up like Maurice Ager who they drafted in ’06…..Dallas will draft guys & not play them or send them to the D-League route or keep them overseas.

i absolute love Avery Bradley defense, i think he could be the best defensive player of the PG position in the NBA if he will be able to put himself on the floor, last year in scarce moments that he played he gave me memories with his style and quality of defense to the one and only, the great Bruce Bowen

I think Gordon Hayward and Evan Turner could have very good sophmore years.  Hayward could get much more consistent playing time this year as the Jazz rebuild and he is a great fit at sg for the Jazz.  With more playing time, I could see him averaging in double figures with good assist and rebounding numbers.

If Philly trades Iggy, as they should, then Turner could take over in a point forward year.  When he got the opportunity last year, he put up good numbers in place of Iggy, and I think that Turner could really break out next year, maybe averaging something like 15 pts, 5.5 rebds, and 5 asts. per game.
