You take Pau Gasol. Who knows

You take Pau Gasol. Who knows if Tony Parker would be the same player he is now without Duncan, Ginobili and Coach Popavich.

Wow

Just looked down the list. Has there ever been a draft with more low impact big men? Right at the height of the straight to the pros thing. Anyone can look dominate when you are 7 feet tall and playing against HS kids, I guess.

I would trade it for

I would trade it for Cleveland's 2003 first round pick with no protection.

if its 2001

If I'm making this pick in 2001 and I have no clue of the future I take Chandler. Back in his he had a decent perimeter game and was long athletic. Even know he was dpoy. If he had the right development he could have been even better. Looking at that draft and judging on today he's actually lasted the longest with most impact. I never believed the hype on kwame brown.

I would've taken Tyson

I would've taken Tyson Chandler then.

Obviously in hindsight that wouldn't be the same move but it's still a quality pick even though it took Tyson some years to conform his game to his athleticism.

i think with all those guys

i think with all those guys in the HS class going pro it was inevitable that 1 of them was going to get picked. Think about it, nobody can see the future so whatevers hot at the moment is what teams are gonna look at and at that time it was big dudes coming out of HS. The only thing i could never understand is why they picked kwame brown..i mean even before it all played out and he underachieved I couldnt understand why they would pick him over chandler, curry etc...didnt make much sence...I wouldve picked tyson chandler

that's the only pick I don't hold against Jordan

It was the pick every GM would have made.

Was Brown really the

Was Brown really the consensus #1 pick at the time. I remember him, Curry and Chandler being talked about in the same breath. And I personally had Curry as the top prospect on my board.
