When we look at picks #10-#20 the current mock/big board 9 out of 10 players are PF/C type big men and the only player that isn’t a big would be Miles Bridges at #17. I don’t quite see this trend continuing up to draft day. Do you think that could happen or who are some players you think could possibly move into that range? Terrence Ferguson seems to move his way in and out of that range but I personally wouldn’t gamble on him.

Here’s 10 players I mostly consider as late 1st early 2nd rounders that could take those positions. Comparisons are based on recent prospects or pros who were ranked higher than them. Basically players they can strive to play like and roles they can attempt to duplicate in the NBA and or players you fear they end up like do to thier shortcomings.

Who are some candidates you could see moving into that tier?

    Tyler Lydon
    Comp- Dario Saric/Jeff Green

Lydon can bring alot to NBA teams and is one of those rare big SF/PFs that can do a bit of everything. Syracuse looks like they have secured a tourey invite and he could rise in the coming month.

    Alonzo Trier
    Comp-Buddy Hield

Trier has performed well on every stage. Not sure why he is ranked so low on all the draft sites. Decent athlete, big shot maker, good teammate, clutch performer and always improving.

    Dwayne Bacon
    Comp-JR Smith/Shabazz Muhammad

Love him or hate him alot of people have mixed emotions on his value. Some people swear he is a lottery talent and big time scorer. Others think he is a ball hog and won’t find an NBA niche. One things for sure there is definitely interest out there and it only takes 1 team to like you to jump in the draft. He seems like a candidate to kill workouts and force a teams hand.

    Justin Jackson*UNC
    Comp-Nic Batum/Deandre Daniels

ACC player of the year candidate Jackson has really been consistent this year and had stepped up big time. The problem is in recent years there hasnt been much success for players with his general skillset. At 6’9 he is paper thin and defenitely under 200 pounds he does not project as a guy you can slide in as a PF at all and not quick enough to defend SG’s in the league so he doesnt provide much versatility. Gotta show him some love because hes been balling but I doubt he becomes a player like Nic Batum but if your drafting him thats whos film I think you show him.

    Luke Kennard
    Comp-Lou Williams/Nik Stauskas

Shooting is at a surplus so he will get plenty of looks from teams trying to model GSW or Houston . His defensive abillity and lack of athletisism is a concern but nowadays alot of teams are just trying to shoot people out of the gym. Im not a big fan of Kennard as I think he gets alot of open looks and see him as more of a shot maker but on the right team he could end up making alot of shots. Not nearly as quick or as much of a ball handler as Lou Williams but could provide a similar offensive punch and pure shotmaking abillity.

    Grayson Allen
    Comp-Marcus Smart/Sean Kilpatrick/Malcolm Brogdon/*Brian Newall*

Sometimes a bit of crazy is a good thing. Allen is very competitive and its fair to call him a dirty player from past evidence but Ive never seen him flop (probalky just missed it), he doesnt get after his teammates and he complains about calls and gets after the refs no more than the next guy. At least he takes out his crazy on the opposing team which I personally dont mind at all.

As for his talent which nobody talks about he seems to be a gritty SG that can handle the ball for you and set your offence at times. He is a decent athlete but average by NBA standards and a bit of a streaky shooter. Probally wont play as much PG as Smart but those are some players he could try to play like at the SG position. Kilpatrick is the best comp imo.

    Semi Ojeyele
    Comp-Solomon Hill/PJ Tucker

SMU is one of my favourite teams this year despite their 6 man rotation and lack of depth they have serious tournament implications and Ojeyele is the biggest reasom why. He plays a simple game. He projects as a three position defender (SG, SF, PF) that plays the body not the ball. He is a great athlete that hits open jumpshots, and crashes the glass. The guy is built like a tank too, he almost looks too big.

    Devin Robinson
    Comp-Moe Harkless/Jamario Moon

Im not sure how much the league values potential nowadays in the 1st round but this guy has it. You would like to see him fill out and sure his shot before using a 1stbon him though. He is a great athlete with length for days that seems like he could be very disruptive on the defensive end. Anybody remember Jamario Moon?

    Frank Mason
    Comp-Mike Conley/Yogi Ferrell

Will likely end up being college basketballs player of the year. Seems like the next college PG to go underrated and kill it in the league. Mason doesnt have any holes in his game he is a great athlete but doesnt stress showing it off and doesnt try tondo too much other than get his team wins. He should land a job in the league and with a strong tournament we could see his draft stock rise.

    Donovan Mitchell
    Comp-Ian Clark/Antonio Daniels

With the help of Louisvilles staggering team defence Mitchell has won alot of head to head matchups against higher ranked gaurds this year. Pitino gets the most of his guys but there have been some special moments feom this young man this year. His offensive game is catching up to his defensive game and as he continues to progress NBA teams are likely taking notice.

    Monte Morris
    Jeff Teague/Shelvin Mack

I dont think he will get drafted too high but I see him thriving if given a chance in the NBA. He can make shots and is great distributor but the skill I think that will help him the most is the abillity to play fast with the ball im his hands.

    HM List
Kurucs-Havent seen him play and dont even know his first name but every draft ranking has him up there.

PJ Dozier-Im a big fan of what he can provide but he has dissapointed this year. Gamecocks are likely in the tournament so some strong play could boost his stock. Shouldnt stay next year as USC will be bad and it could expose his game alot with the conference improving.

Malcolm Hill-Complete game I see him as a good NBA player. Sleeper potential.

    VJ Beachem

    Trebon Bluiett

Amir Coffey-Will go high if he enters his name.

Juwan Evans-Will go high if he enters his name.

    Daniel Purifoy- ^^^^

I wonder if Antonio Blakeney has a chance to be drafted early second – late first. He’s averaged 26.6 ppg in the last 6 games on pretty good percentages and low turnovers. His team is obviously playing like trash, but with a couple more good games and a good showing in the draft combine, I think a team may want him as a combo-guard off the bench.

Eric Mika is another guy who never gets discussed as a potential prospect. I think he was seen as a late first-rounder before hios mission and now has come back much improved as a consistent athletic 20-10 guy, he’s a senior by age and he’s playing exactly like a senior is supposed to.

jabari bird should be on your list of risers..he reminds minds me of tim hardaway jr….bird was expected to be a 1 & done..but injuries slowed him ..but this season he seems to be looking like a nba prospect again…

zach collins has played well..he’s gonzaga’s best nba prospect…i doubt he declares this yr..but if he does late lottery might be range..

cameron oliver of nevada could go 1st round…a 6’8 forward that rebounds, blk shots and hit mid range shots..

Is one of the best players in the draft and I’m baffled by the 13th rating.  Also – the comparison to Collison is a joke.  I would take him 7-10 if I needed a stretch 4.  Reminds me of a young McHale

The list was made of players outside of the PF/C positiob. I was asking who could move up because PG/SG/SF are thin in comparison.

Tourian graham from Arizona state is a guy I think could get second round looks. He’s a 6-5 senior sg who had played junior college ball in Florida, then transferred to Houston and before playing there he transferred to buffalo then before playing there transferred to asu. He hasn’t played either of last 2 years and this one season at asu will be his only year of d1 college eligibility so if you haven’t heard the name that’s why. But he’s asu’s best player averaging over 18 a game. In the 2 games I’ve seen him vs my bruins he has put up 28 and 26 points respectively, we have no answer for him but he’s a streaky shooter who takes lots off the dribble long shots kinda like a wanna be jamalcrawford thus he’s streaky and is prone to occasional no shows. But I really like his game, all the one on one moves can hit contested shots and drive to rim. I would defenitely have my eye on him with a latesecond round pick.

    Dwayne Bacon – Harold Miner
    Justin Jackson – Jeff Taylor
Grayson Allen is gritty – poor mans Danny Ainge
Luke Kennard – If Craig Ehlo and Joe Ingles had a baby, it would be Luke Kennard.
