    1. Name a team, aside from Cleveland, from the Eastern Conference that you predict will make the playoffs that did not make the playoffs last year.

Boston: I’m a believer in Danny Ainge and Brad Stevens.

    2. Name a team from the Western Conference that made the playoffs last year that you predict will not make the playoffs next year.

I think Memphis will be the popular choice here, but I can see Houston imploding. They lost key pieces and some divisive comments have been made in the offseason. They’re also too dependent on Howard and Harden. One injury and they’re done.

    3. Name a player who you predict will average 20 points per game for the first time in his career.

Andre Drummond. SVG will spread the floor and feed the beast.

    4. Finish this sentence: By this time next year, the consensus on David Blatt is that he is _____________.

An alpha-male, perhaps a bit arrogant, uncompromising, but also cerebral, successful.

    5. Who will have a better year (all things considered): Kobe Bryant or Derrick Rose?

This is a really hard one, but we’ve learned over the years to never under-estimate Mamba.

    6. Name your favorite female sports reporter (not limited to just basketball).

Lisa Salters. Former player (with a 3-point stroke), knowledgeable, professional, refreshing, cute (for a 48-year-old).

    7. Approximately how many NBA games do you expect to attend this year? Which team?

I’ll probably see a game or two at the Moda Center in Portland. When I’m back home in Cleveland, I might get lucky enough to get down to the Q, but I won’t get my hopes up.

    8. Predict the winner of the James Naismith award for the best player in college basketball this year.

Albeit a darkhorse, but give me Kellen Dunham from Butler.

    9. Name your top three TV shows you’d watch if there was no hoops on.

The First 48, Top Chef, Jeopardy.

    10. Name a former NBA player turned broadcaster/analyst whose commentary you find insightful.

I’m quite fond of Greg Anthony.

    1.  milwaukee…plenty of talent on that team.

    2.  dallas.  they aren’t getting any younger (besides parsons).  think felton and nelson at pg is a train wreck waiting to happen.

    3.  nick young.  someone other than kobe is going to have to score.

    4.  lebron’s puppet.

    5.  derrick rose.  much easier after seeing in the world cup.

    6.  erin andrews

    7.  5 – denver nuggets

    8.  sam dekker.  heard he killed lebron james skills camp.

    9.  sportscenter, always sunny…, 48 hours mystery

    10.  bill walton (of course)…anyone that compares boris diaw to the age of romantics is definitely insightful.

    1. Detroit Pistons – They wont be a high seed by any stretch, but I can see SVG getting a bit more out of this unit and them a 7-8 seed.

    2. Memphis Grizzlies – They seem to have gotten a little older and little slower. They know how to win with their roster, but I can see a team like Denver or New Orleans sneaking that 8 seed and I can’t see the likes of Dallas or Portland missing out. This was a tough question to answer.

    3. Gordon Hayward – He just got paid big money and had his year of adjustment, I predict a 5th year breakout similar to Demar Derozan only no play off berth just yet for Utah.

4.He is a very good coach, but needs another season to adjust to the NBA style of play.

    5. Derrick Rose – Solely based on age, O dont doubt Kobe though.

    6. Beadle count?

    7. 0 I live in NZ, will be watching as much Pacers as I can, with a sprinkle of Oladipo and Rookies.

    8. Sam Dekker – Big year in Wisconsin.

    9. Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory and Family Guy

    10. Steve Kerr – Now obviously coaching.

    1. Name a team, aside from Cleveland , from the Eastern Conference that you predict will make the playoffs that did not make the playoffs last year.
New York Knicks. Losing Tyson Chandler will make this tough, but if (and that’s a big IF) J.R. Smith plays like he did in 2012-13, the Knicks could still have a very potent offensive attack in a weak Eastern Conference.

    2. Name a team from the Western Conference that made the playoffs last year that you predict will not make the playoffs next year.
Houston Rockets. It seemed like every other team that made the playoffs either held on to all of their key pieces or improved. Phoenix wasn’t really that far off Houston last season and now that Houston doesn’t have Chandler Parsons, they could be even closer.

    3. Name a player who you predict will average 20 points per game for the first time in his career.
Bradley Beal. He had a somewhat breakout postseason and will continue to benefit from having John Wall as his point guard. If he can get his FG% up to 45%, that literally could be the difference between averaging 17 and averaging 21.

    4. Finish this sentence: By this time next year, the consensus on David Blatt is that he is _____________.
a good coach who fell into the perfect situation.

    5. Who will have a better year (all things considered): Kobe Bryant or Derrick Rose?
Derrick Rose. Although he’s had serious durability issues lately, he’s also more than 10 years younger than Kobe and will be on the better team.

    6. Name your favorite female sports reporter (not limited to just basketball).
Rachel Nichols. Is able to keep things mostly entertaining and actually knows what she’s talking about most of the time.

    7. Approximately how many NBA games do you expect to attend this year? Which team?
Hopefully as many as possible, but probably no more than 3-4 (life of a college student-athlete). It’ll probably be all Pacers games.

    8. Predict the winner of the James Naismith award for the best player in college basketball this year.
Jahlil Okafor. Not too many teams (other than Kentucky) who can match his size and polished skillset. I’m expecting a huge season in his one, and only, year at Duke.

    9. Name your top three TV shows you’d watch if there was no hoops on.

    10-Question Survey

    1. Name a team, aside from Cleveland , from the Eastern Conference that you predict will make the playoffs that did not make the playoffs last year.

New York Knicks…  I don’t see Melo missing 2 playoffs in his career, plus I believe in the triangle offense with a player like Melo.

    2. Name a team from the Western Conference that made the playoffs last year that you predict will not make the playoffs next year.

I think the Trailblazers won’t and I hope the Warriors won’t…  Hear me out, I think the Blazers had a hell of a year last year and a lot was on the shoulders of Lillard to win close games.  I’m not sure they can return that luck next season.  The reason I said I hope the Warriors won’t is because of how they did Mark Jackson and managed to make Steve Kerr one of the highest paid coaches w/o actually coaching.  All because Mark Jackson didn’t suck up to management, not because of production…  Sad.

    3. Name a player who you predict will average 20 points per game for the first time in his career.

Lance Stephenson.  I can see Born Ready (or should I say Hot N***A) averaging 20 for the Hornets next season.

    4. Finish this sentence: By this time next year, the consensus on David Blatt is that he is _____________.

"decent."  If he does his job right and the Cavs don’t go thru a rough stretch then no one will really notice what he does.

    5. Who will have a better year (all things considered): Kobe Bryant or Derrick Rose?

Derrick. Even with added help, D. Rose is just too explosive right now and hungry to prove himself…  Not saying Vino won’t just D. Rose is looking like the old D. Rose.

    6. Name your favorite female sports reporter (not limited to just basketball).

    Charissa Thompson

    7. Approximately how many NBA games do you expect to attend this year? Which team?

    5-10.  Bulls and Cavs.

    8. Predict the winner of the James Naismith award for the best player in college basketball this year.

    Okafor

    9. Name your top three TV shows you’d watch if there was no hoops on.

Blacklist, Person of Interest, and Power

    10. Name a former NBA player turned broadcaster/analyst whose commentary you find insightful

Doug Collins.  When he left I felt like Steve Kerr sound a lot like him, but Doug always have great stories about great players.   Especially MJ.

Misread question 2. I would have to say Memphis simply because I don’t believe in their bench depth. 1 injury to Conley, Gasol, or Randolph and they’ll fall off. I see them missing by a game or 2 with N.O. sneaking in.

I’m a little surprised that nobody has said Victor Oladipo, Kenneth Faried, Eric Bledsoe, or Kawhi Leonard yet.

I don’t think any of them (maybe Bledsoe) has averaged 20 for even a month. You expect them to do it for an entire season?

I’m surprised no one mentioned Wall or Beal…those were my other options.

    1. Name a team, aside from Cleveland , from the Eastern Conference that you predict will make the playoffs that did not make the playoffs last year. Detroit Pistons

    2. Name a team from the Western Conference that made the playoffs last year that you predict will not make the playoffs next year. Memphis Grizzlies

    3. Name a player who you predict will average 20 points per game for the first time in his career. Lance Stephenson is ‘Born Ready’

    4. Finish this sentence: By this time next year, the consensus on David Blatt is that he is _the beneficiary to LeBron James’ GM pull_.

    5. Who will have a better year (all things considered): Kobe Bryant or Derrick Rose? Derrick Rose. We’ve seen all of his progressions throughout this offseason. Let’s just see if he does not have too many soreness nights from the wear and tear.

    6. Name your favorite female sports reporter (not limited to just basketball). Cari Champion. Although she does not say much on her own Will, she is not a pushover. I respect her knowledge. There are others I like, but I choose not to give anyone recognition if they were notable former NCAA/WNBA players. I respect the woman who came up from no claim to fame.

    7. Approximately how many NBA games do you expect to attend this year? Which team? Maybe 2 Wizards games. 1 for sure!

    8. Predict the winner of the James Naismith award for the best player in college basketball this year. Chris Walker

    9. Name your top three TV shows you’d watch if there was no hoops on. YouTube, YouTube, YouTube.

    10. Name a former NBA player turned broadcaster/analyst whose commentary you find insightful. Avery Johnson(NBA)/Jay Williams(NCAA)

1.Charlotte Hornets-the addition of Stephenson is key for these Hornets who now have a good starting 5 and good bench.

2.Phoenix Suns-Losing Bledsoe might hurt, but what do you get back could help you even more.

Could mean they get a real center that might be fit enough to play in Pekovic.

3.I’m not a big stats Guy so it could be a guy that was draften last year and will get the time to shine, maybe Giannis Antetokounmpo could be it.

4.Genuine coach of the year candidate.

5.Stats wise Kobe, the rest D.Rose.

6.Don’t know any of them since I’m not an American or watch the american channels.

    7.0

8.Okafor?9.Arrow,Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And maybe Ncis.

The Hornets made the playoffs last year. The No. 7 seed, they were swept by Miami in the first round.

The second question was asking which team in the west that DID make the playoffs last year will NOT make the playoffs this year. Phoenix did not get in last year.

    1. The Bucks. I think Jabari will obviously look like a rookie at times (or possibly the whole year), but I think with him, Giannis, Henson, Ilyasova and Sanders they have talented forwards and centers who are all swiss army knives and they could create some lineups that are just impossible to deal with for certain opponents. And they augmented this core with a bunch of slashing guards (who I think will complement Jabari perfectly) and Jason Kidd, who I think did a terrific job coaching a team in a similar situation last year, without the weapons of mass destruction he’s going to have now.

    2. Dallas. Great team but too much competition in that division. There are like 12 teams in the west that should make the playoffs, someone has to miss it.

    3. This would be easy, but Anthony Davis had 20.8 pts last year. I’d guess Eric Bledsoe.

    4. By this time next year, the consensus on David Blatt is that he is an awesome coach who isn’t afraid to experiment.

    5. Rose. He’s not 80 and it always seems like there’s a mental hurdle he has to go through coming back from injuries. In a month or two he’ll be fine. Maybe not a top 5 player in the nba, but still an all-star.

    6. Jackie McMullan

    7. 0. I’ve never actually gone to an NBA game.

    8. I don’t really like him, but Frank Kaminski.

    9. South Park, American Dad, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

    10. Charles Barkley.
