blackflash234ParticipantMVP: Kevin Durant
Most Improved: Brandon Jennings
Sixth Man: Carl Landry
Rookie of the Year: Blake Griffin
Coach of the Year: Eric Spoelstra
Defensive Player of the Year: Chris PaulNotes: I think that Durant has to be the favourite to win the MVP award. There’s really no pressure on him for his team to succeed even though expectations for this Oklahoma City team is to eventually compete with the Lakers for top seed in the West.
The reason why I got Brandon Jennings as most improved is that last season, the dude shot 37% and averaged 15.5 points and 5.7 assists. What if he got that FG percentage up next season to even just 42%? I feel that he could easily become a guy next year that will average 20 points 7-8 assists a night next season with a new improved team and jump shot.
The reason why I’ve got Chris Paul as defensive player of the year is because I feel that he’ll easily lead the league in steals next year. Even though steals doesn’t neccessarily translate to defense (ex Allen Iverson), he brings that type of defensive personality always putting pressure on the defensive and has very great anticipation skills.

Jlv2010John Wall is the man, Dwight Howard is a defense machine and Brandon Jennings won’t be averaging 20 and 8. end of story.

mgreener_34ParticipantMVP: Kevin Durant- The Thunder are going to have a break out year, and Durant will lead the way. I expect a big season from him.
Most Improved: James Harden- Thunder need shooting, and Harden will have more of a prominent role this year. Could also see someone like a Brandon Bass take it
Sixth Man: Al Harrington – Guy can play the 3 or 4, and will be a weapon off the bench
Rookie of the Year: Blake Griffin- Maybe Wall, but Griffen can do the little things that really matter. Rebound, score inside.
Coach of the Year: Eric Spoelstra- Team with the best record usually always gets it.
Defensive Player of the Year: Dwight Howard- Do I even have to say anything about this one?

the I in winParticipantDurant is probably the favorite for MVP but don’t count out Lebron. Jennings could get MIP but I think it will be Stephen Curry. I think one of the usual suspects will get sixth man but Landry could and I like Mike Miller’s chance to put up a good year. Defensive player of the year is Dwight and will be for a lot of years.

mgreener_34ParticipantI don’t think James will get MVP based on the fact that that team could definitely win without him. That was the main argument why Garnet didn’t win MVP his first year in Boston. He lead the way the whole year, got hurt, and the team still won. If LeBron goes down in Cleveland, they don’t win. LeBron goes down in Miami? Wade and Bosh step up. Anything short of a triple double, and it’s going to be hard for LeBron to win MVP

stanford hoopsits not out of the question for jennings to put up 20 and 8( werent those his stats in the playoffs?
i think lebron has a chance to when mvp because on that heat team he can average a triple double and theres no way he wouldnt win averaging a triple double for a season
i think cousins has a chance for rookie of the year because of all the touches he will get and he will be the second option from day 1
coach of the year…im ny sure about eric getting it because phil has had some years where he had the best record and didnt get coach of the year..i think it goes to a coach whos team wasnt excepted to be as good as they end up being
6th man-tmac i just think hes gonna step up for some reason
defense-howard or artest( hes says hes lost weight and is focused on winning this award again

Winning_TimeParticipantMVP: Kobe – Can’t deny the best closer in the game.
Most Improved: Wayne Ellington – Hoping so.
Sixth Man: George Hill – If given the right minutes, he’s a great backup for Tony Parker.
Rookie of the Year: Evan Turner – Going out on a limb
Coach of the Year: Eric won’t have to coach, I give it to Phil
Defensive Player of the Year: Dwight Howard – He keeps getting better and better.0 - Posted on: Wed, 08/18/2010 - 7:44am #378955

Crossova21ParticipantHibbert will be most improved player this year. He doesn’t have Murphy to steal his rebounds anymore, has been working with Bill Walton this summer, and finally has a point guard to set him up.

IndianaBasketballParticipantMVP: Kevin Durant – I think it’s his year. I’m expecting improved defense, playmaking and fourth quarter play. I think Dwight Howard will have a big year as well though… He worked out with Hakeem Olajuwon this summer.
MIP: Roy Hibbert – I think he’ll be significantly improved and actually get the ball this season.
Sixth Man: George Hill: He’s been working out in Indianapolis and I think he’s going to push Parker for the starting job. IF not, he’ll be a great sixth man off of the bench.
ROY: Blake Griffin – He’s a student of the game and learned a lot while being on the sideline last season. He knows what to expect.
COY: Avery Johnson – I expect the Nets to make a significant turnaround and compete for the 8th seed.
DPOY: LeBron James – He’s unpopular right now lol, but I think he’ll take on the challenge of defending the best perimeter player every night since he no longer has to carry such a heavy load offensively. It’ll be either him or Dwight Howard who wins it.

mattholdenbrownParticipantMVP: Kevin Durant-scoring machine, leads him team to home court advantage for at least the first round
MIP:If Felton goes down with an injury id love to see toney douglas come in and get 15 a night (he did that when they started him)
Sixth Man- no one can ever predict this award, ive heard good things about javale mcgee, id love to see glen davis get 30 mins a game and average 15 and 7
Roy- I think cousins will lead scorers for the rookies, but i think they give the award to griffen or wall depending on whose team finishes better.
COY- Doc Rivers if they pulloff a record close to the heats, otherwise eric gets it

WizardofOzParticipantMVP: Kevin Durant – This guy’s ceiling is so high. I think he and Kobe are the top two candidates, but I think Durant wins. This guy was the youngest scoring cahmpion ever at 21 scoring 30 ppg. This guy has increased his shooting percentage every year, and when his shooting abilty, what makes you think he can’t keep boosting his averages? He finished second in MVP voting last year, and now with LBJ going down to Miami, he should be considered the favorite to win MVP this year.
MIP: Javale McGee – This guy has been working so hard during the offseason. He has gained a lot of weight, and hes has even grown and inch and a 1/4 which now makes him 7’1″ 1/4. He has been taking boxing to help with his conditioning. He recently learned that he has asthma but he has gotten in much better shape. And now that he has a true PG that will look for him (MR. Wall) I think McGee will have a break out season.
Sixth Man: George Hill – He played well in Tony Parker’s abscence and if given the right minutes, he can produce.
ROY: John Wall: This guy is a stud and will produce right off the bat. People underrate the Wizards supporting cast. Andray Blatche had a great year when he was put in the starting lineup and people underrate what he did. Not many power forwards can give you 22 and 8.5 on any given night. And Javale McGee played good last year too. He’s one of the best sho-blockers in the league. In fact, he had the highest per-36 minutes shot-blocking average in the league, and people underrate his scoring ability. And Nick Young played well, but was inconsistent. His playing time started to dip late in the season. But I think he has the potential to break out as well now with Wall on the team. And even though Gilbert has been gone for a long time but I think he can still be a great player. People forget that when he was healthy and wasn’t pulling out guns, that he was one of the top scorer’s in the league. So if Gilbert can play at that level, John Wall will have a good running mate. If all these players I just named play well, Wall should have high assist numbers and no one questions his scoring ability either. He’s super quick and can get to the free-throw line at a high rate. I expect his stats to be: 16 ppg, 7 apg, 3 rpg, 1.5 spg. If he averages those numbers, I think that will land him ROY. I think it all depends if Gilbert and Wall can co-exists though. If they can’t, then my pick is Blake Griffin. But for now, it’s Wall.
COY: Avery Johnson – I think the Nets will have the biggest turnaround of any team this season and the main reason will be because of Avery Johnson.
DPOY: Dwight Howard – I don’t think he should win it, but I thnk he will because of his stats and most people think he’s a great defender.

llperezMVP-Kobe Bryant. Dont underestimate what a full summer of resting will do for him. Next season is very important for him and his legacy.
Most Improved-When i pick these, i like to look for legit improvement as a player and not just a guy who gets more minutes. WIth that said, Ill go with jrue holiday.
6th Man-Paul Millsap
ROY-John Wall
COY-this is darn near impossible to predict, but i told myself about 6 years ago that I would vote for Jerry SLoan every year until he he wins one.
DPOY-Ill go the safe rout and predict Dwight Howard.

Toronto16ParticipantWhy the heck would Jennings win Most Improved if he just had a stellar season? Like do you know what the meaning of the award is? Its a guy who had a crappy year then came back strong the year after. And I hate it when guys who have been in the league for less than 4 season win it. Hello? You are supposed to get better!

Buckets RevengeParticipantI do not think Thompson will start for two reasons. I think at the end of last year Landry was given the starting role, and because Landry is the more talented offensive player of the two and if Dalembert starts early in the season I think it would be best to use Landry to try and offset Dalemberts lack of offensive prowess and bring in Cousins and Thompson off the bench.
