1 Kentucky vs 2 Michigan State
Alright let's pop this thing off......who ya got? I think Michigan State wins this game solely because of their experience but if UK pulls this off everyone better watch out because that just means this team will be that much scarier come march
What the heck happened to Willy Cauley-Stein?
He looks emaciated.
UK is intimidated by the veteran Mich St
that's what I feared and that's what I see as well
If UK doesn't make the Final Four this season, it will be because of the lack of 3PT shooting and poor FT%.
anyone know where i can stream it? im at work and it wont let mewatch it without choosing my cable provider.
Tucky need to run some plays, everyone is staring at the ball expecting Harrison to make a play for them.
Dakari Johnson should thrive in this type of half-court slow tempo.
Garry Harris is filling it up. He's catching fire.
so far so good.... who ever finishes the game the most efficient should win because UK with all that talent should still be able to stick around... but we'll see! i love what im seeing from MSU
Kentucky looks awful. Poor transition defense, poor spacing on offense, no tenacity. They really need a spark right now.
i dont really watch college bball but this guy is pretty impressive. looking like a nba ready player to me.
Julius Randle has struggled to score and has turned it over alot, but I like his mentality on the court. He isn't settling for jumpers despite the lack of floor spacing, he is passing the ball well, and his motor isn't tempered at all by the lack of momentum. He isn't the ball-stopper, perimeter obsessed player, or offense-only player his earlier detractors claimed.
He will have to develp a jump shot in the NBA, but as long as he keeps his crafty game around the rim, he should be fine in the much better spaced NBA.
Edit: And of course just after I post this he takes a bad three. Oh well, hopefully it isn't a trend.
The anticipation is killing me anyone with an stream please?!?!?!.lol
atdee.net is showing the game. It shows basically all big NCAA and NBA games.
Wow, that was a nice move by Randle. Dwight Howard has been in the L for nearly a decade and doesn't have a move like that.
Adrian Payne is killing it. Randle and WCS can't stop him.
Kentucky's transition defense is flat out awful.
Garry Harris physically looks like a mix between Shanon Brown and Avery Bradley. He is a impressive athlete.
Kentucky just looked discombobulated in that first half. They just don't have much flow on offense and have given up way to much dribble penetration on defense. Kentucky would be down by a lot more than 12 right now if it wasn't for their supreme talent. This game could have really gotten out of hand if it weren't for some timely threes and trips to the FT line.
Michigan State, on the other hand, looks excellent. Gary Harris is phenomenal and they have done a great job getting out in transition. Their defense has also been excellent, as they have done an excellent job clogging the lane and cutting off UK's dribble-drive game, although UK pushing the tempo did get them a few good looks at the rim. If UK has any chance at all to come back in this game, they need to get out in transition even more and to stop Michigan State from doing the same.
Mich St should be up by a lot more than 12 after the way they played.
Julius Randle is waking up now.
i worry of Randle's Success in the nba.
Garry Harris is a lock at lotto
Free throws are killing UK
How many times has Randle gotten the ball stolen from?
Wow Kentucky are bad at free throws
Harrison twins being exposed big time.
Kentucky are going to be really good but it's going to take time, I think Cal probably expected this to happen tonight, in a couple of months this experience will do them good. Most of these players are 2 games out of high school, playing against grown ass men like Payne and Dawson who have played countless college games
Sometimes it seems as if Randle just throws the ball up, but it somehow goes in. Really reminds me of Zach Randolph.
Man Julius Randle sure is something. I've never seen a guy just faceup and score the way he does at the college level. He's got post skills that many bigs in the NBA don't have. Randle posesses the perfect balance of power and finesse; it's fun to watch.
The refs have really taken the energy out of this game. Let them play
For all of Julius' 7TOs, they still in it
Julius going beast mode now
Randles got a lot of work to do on the defensive end, but his post moves are nice. He struggled a tad vs Payne, but is also his activity helped put Payne on the bench with 4 fouls.
dude just keeps coming on the glass.
Alex Poythress has been the spark on the boards UK needed
UK is looking like it has a chance to win this. Even with all the missed FTs, UK is right back in the game. Randle just doesn't get down low. His ability to create shots down low despite contact is really nice.
UK has actually responded to pressure really well in this game. This game easily could have gotten away from them earlier in the game, but they made adjustments and have looked like a totally different team in the second half. This is not a game they should have been expected to win coming in, given their inexperience and the fact that Mich. St. has the most returning talent of any team in the country.
Now lets see if UK can keep it up down the stretch. Hopefully the foul situation doesn't make the rest of this game too tough to watch.
UK looks lost without Randle on the floor
Randle is just like Z Bo
Another terrible decision by a Harrison twin.
Keith Appling thinks he is a football player. He just throws complete stiff arms with his off-hand. He probably should be more subtle with how he guards the ball.
The refs are making sure the last 10 minutes of this game are boring as hell.
If a player can't make free throws, why are they playing at the end of the game when free throws are crucial?
Julius Randle is kinda important to UK, so they can't sub him out, and so is WCS, who's rim protection has been absolutely incredible in this half for the Cats.
Free-throws, free-throws, free-throws.
Grew up a little bit tonight and will be a better team going forward. The fact that they made adjustments in the second half and gave themselves a chance to win this game against probably the best team in the nation with a nice balance of talent and experience to go along with it along with all those turnovers and missed freethrows says a lot about that talent this team has. I expected them to lose this game and by the looks of the interviews john calipari did too lol. Don't mistake the this team for last years version even in this loss they showed me that they are a legit threat for the title and wont end up in the NIT.
All this game came down to was basically that Izzo is just a far superior coach. Recruiting can only take you so far, if you can't teach your guys how to shoot free throws, or atleast take guys out of the game that can't make them your never going to beat the better teams.
To be honest, I don't think coaching had anything to do with the final score. Freshmen are only so good and they have much more holes in their games than veterans.
The game came down to the inability to make free-throws. If anything, Coach Cal outcoached Izzo in that second half, which resulted in a come back.
Very impressed with Randle, quick first step. The first half, he was slow to make a move and held the ball. Second half, he made his move quicker in the post and dominated. I think this kid is going to be great.
i like how TOL made the comparison with how randle already has an advanced post game for just 18 yrs old... and how Dwight cant even do the moves that randle can make lmaoo...
but i love randles game... he did have the advantage of 6'6'' dawsen guarding him though
what im surprised with is that he only took one perimeter shot all game... *take notes josh smith*
not making free-throws is part of coaching
