Use you brain...

How can any logical person say that Kentucky should be the #1 College Basketball team going into next season. They have only one person who has any proven talent and that's Patrick Patterson. Wall, Cousins and Orton haven't played one college bball game and everyone's ready to declare them the champs.

Kansas, UNC, Villanova, Michigan State, Purdue, Texas

Any other team has to be a long shot.

haha ok so unc lost 3 guys

haha ok so unc lost 3 guys from their national championship team and they are already the preseason number 2? ill let you ride the ed davis bandwagon and stick with my pick. all it takes is one player - i.e. derrick rose takes memphis to the finals in 07 and carmelo leads syracuse to the title. both unproven freshmen. and i never said they were going to win it all. all i said was preseason number 1. i think texas wins the championship.

bandwagon...

I'm not the one riding the bandwagon, you are. At least Ed Davis has played college basketball. And UNC isn't my #2, I just put the teams I put on there because they all could be #1 next year in my opinion.

I'll throw any player who hasn't played College Ball under the bus cuz that's just it, they haven't played college ball. And Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose didn't do it all themselves my friend.

It's Calipari's first year. Roy Williams has been at UNC for I think 6 years. You must be a Kentucky fan to think the way you are thinking or you just think that unproven talent will win it every year.

im a connecticut fan

im a connecticut fan actually. i just like calipari. who else did derrick rose have? joey dorsey, antonio andersen, chris douglas roberts, shawn taggert, pierre henderson niles, chance mcgrady, robert dozier, willie kemp, andre allen, and donneal mack? none of those guys were even 1st rounders, chris douglas roberts and dorsey are the only other ones who got drafted and none of them played significant minutes. who did melo have? hakim warrick and gerry mac? haha they did it by themselves. rose played almost every minute of every game in the tournament too because andre allen got suspended right before the tournament and willie kemp cant dribble a ball for s***. experience only counts for so much in college basketball. Calipari has been coaching for forever its not like its his first year on the job.

Rose had a lot of help...CDR

Rose had a lot of help...CDR was their leader and antonio anderson guarded the opposing team's best player. It wasn't a one man team. They had a lot of people doing different things to make that team click. Mack was coming in hitting big threes, Dorsey grabbed all the big rebounds, Dozier was slashing at the 4,

Well, it is often argues

Well, it is often argued that Kentucky has the most talent. Yes, they are stacked. Kansas is also stacked. Two potential 1st team All Americans in Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich, and a great trio of athletic recruits in Xavier Henry, Thomas Robinson and Elijah Johnson, and a solid core of young role players such as Tyshawn Taylor, Marcus & Markeiff Morris, Mario Little, and Jeff Withey, should be enough to put Kansas as the early season #1. Kansas also brings back a great deal of experience. Heck, there may be a couple of last years starters on a Sweet 16 team pushed into coming off the bench with the great new talent. Not a bad situation to have guys who can potentially start coming off the bench. Plus, the competition in the practices will be intense and should improve the team a more rapid pace than most teams. Anywho, that's who I think is #1, at least to start the season. Kentucky, North Carolina, Michigan St., Texas and Purdue are also going to be great teams. Can't wait....!

6. Purdue
7. Kentucky

even as a UCLA fan, I don't see anyway they would be preseason top 10. Cal is the hands down favorite in the PAC 10 and you guys are all not even mentioning them.

UCLA is a potential top 10.

UCLA is a potential top 10. They are deep and have new incoming freshman.

UCLA

They are deep at every position and have plenty of talent, but outside of Dragovic, none of that talent is proven. They have 4 returning freshmen who played very little. Gordon, Andersen, and Lee could all play big roles. And I'm not sure about the incoming freshmen. They could go 10 deep this year and just press all game. But regardless, this the least talent Howland has had going into any season since he got to Westwood. If he get's them into the tournament again, that would be a huge acheivement.

But Cal is the class of the PAC 10 hands down, and no one is mentioning them. They return all 5 starters from last years tournament team and have 3 bench players that were freshman last season who played well returning to provide depth. They should be considered top 10 in my books.
